Yep, saw this yesterday. Besides being racist, this woman seems to have a huge chip on her shoulder or low self-esteem, thinking the white farmer was trying to “act all superior”. Gimme a break.
Also had to snicker when I heard the leader of the New Black Panthers say on Geraldo’s show on the weekend there’s no such thing as a black racist, that it’s impossible for blacks to be bigoted.

I must admit I’m a bit puzzled by the continued existence of an organization like the NAACP.
The highest and most important office any American can ever hope to attain is President of the United States. The last election saw an African American successfully occupy the Oval Office. So I would have thought “Job done!” for the NAACP after many long years of struggle.
Just exactly what glass ceiling remains for “colored people” in the US that would still require this “advancement” association?
Sasquatch, customs booth you expect it. I had some when I brought my car across in March this year from Canadian customs. I just smile, and wait. I’m not smuggling, sooner or later I’m going to get my way. And they know it. And they know I know. So they can’t really get up to much, at most they can chisel a couple bucks out of me, and I just don’t care. Which they can see. So my visits to customs on this side are pretty tame.
What I’m talking about is the power-of-life-and-death given to INS agents in the USA. They can make you leave the country and re-apply for status, at their sole discretion. When you are sitting in the Nogales border station next to Holy #*$%!!! Mexico, where they can make you go and WAIT there for as long as they -damn- well please. Now you’re standing in front of Shirley Sherrod’s twin sister, and she’s having a bad day.

Having dealt with this with the Apprenticeship board and the Human Resources people in Hamilton I can vouch that this happens all the time. If you can get them to get off their fat ass and come over to you sometimes they will refuse to speak. Just shrug. If they give you an answer it’s a one syllable useless word. But they make sure that before you leave they talk a mile a minute to the woman or visable minority next to you so you get the message.
Vile people. The government is flooded with stupid affirmative action hires with chips on their shoulders.
Glen Beck may be the crazy one but on tonight’s show he is actually revealing more of what really happened. If you see more of the video you realize that this was a point back 20+ years back when it finally dawned on her that it wasn’t black vs white but classes. Those poor and those who have.
It doesn’t matter though, it seems that she got three calls within 3 hours (she was on a road trip) from the powers that be to resign. Talk about throwing one of your own under the bus, her bosses told her to resign immediately or “she will end up on Glenn Beck.”
Poor girl, for a life long democrat leftoid bureaucrat to find Beck defending her. Everything should be taken in context but seems this poor gal got the shaft. This is one interesting story but I wonder if the truth will ever come out.
I’m gonna run something up the flag pole here.
I can think of any number of Black people I would have rather seen as President, Condi Rice or Colin Powell come to mind. Nevertheless to see Jessie Jackson with tears in his eyes accomplishing something that he may have thought, he may never have seen in his lifetime, a black President was for me at any rate very moving.
I would genuinely like to have a conversation with a black person and not be on guard that every second that something I say is going to offend.
That sentiment is my own problem by the way because every time I do have that kind of conversation and I go and clarify something I’ve said, they don’t bat an eye and acknowledge, and the person immediately confirms that they understood.
I say this because if folks especially Black people who have for a couple hundred years were chattel. and then all of a sudden they got the keys to the kingdom a certain level of over zealousness will probably ensue. Especially if every time something to further your cause for freedom involves government. (Civil war and the Rosa Parks stuff plus the school thing in Georgia). Now having said that how long can a the west afford this tendency to .gov solves everything.
These folks are our leaders. We need them to understand that the reason the west and specifically the US is so well off is individualism, the willingness to take risk and in short Capitalism. That people with skills and a willingness to risk it all to better their life is what made the the US and the rest of us wealthy.
After all who but American Blacks have been more steadfast, worked harder, accomplished so much.
Continually fought and died for their country keeping all of us safe.
So I counsel patience they will let themselves become equal, gaining self confidence and we will become so much better for it.

JJM, I’ll take a stab at that. It’s because institutions don’t wanna die, just like you and me. When the mission of an institution like the NAACP has been accomplished, it engages in mission creep (and becomes creepy). Feminism. Same deal. Environmentalism, too. Unionism.
Think about the Status of Women department of the Canadian federal government? For what possible reason is there still such a government department today?
And then the question arises: why does government grow and grow and grow even during so-called conservative interludes. Well, to my mind it’s kinda like market share in business. There is no instance in human history when the board of directors of a corporation sat around the big oak table discussing ways to reduce market share.

Well – check out Ace of Spades HQ. I think Breitbart edited this inappropriately – it ended up being a tale of redemption. Still, her original thoughts were not perfect.
I think she has been treated somewhat unfairly.
Just finished watching the whole 43 minutes. I found that the edited portion of the video that resulted in her forced resignation was indeed taken out of context. She goes on to talk about how her perception of the situation changed from a race issue to a class issue.
However, at around the 23:50 mark, she pulls the knee jerk race card out when mentioning the Republican’s opposition to Obama over publicly funded health care.
Maybe the woman was quoted unfairly but it doesn’t change much in the bigger picture. For all we know the woman backpedaled in the middle of her own speech after realizing what she had said. Either way it was an appalling speech. These bigots know that Obama is not particularly concerned by what they say, and more of them will come out of the woodwork as a result.
Look also at the speech that Obama’s wife recently gave that was sprinkled with references to black power.
No matter how hard he tries to cover it up, Obama is what he is, namely a black radical.
Maybe I’m missing something, but the message I got from her is “I used to hate all honkies, now I just hate the rich ones.”
