The video released by Wiki Leaks is EXTREMELY misleading, and propagating it as “murder” is borderline criminal. Their 17 minute version edited out any mention of hostile gunfire on the part of insurgents for the purpose of defaming U.S. Defence Forces. WikiLeak head Julian Assange has since reluctantly admitted to AK-47 and RPGs being present. To their credit, they did release a full 39 minute version, but for “research” purposes only. Their edited version tells a very different story.

r they a subsiduary of the cbc?
amateurnight as far as propaganda but it could fool the uninitiated….or prejudiced…
Mostly it is:
“I believe what I see and when I believe it…I can see it.”
I have to wonder who’s paying these 5th Columnists? With the CBC, I, as sick as it makes me, know who’s paying them, with these other sites, who’s footing the Anti-Western Democracies bill?
Sue the bastards.
So much for WikiLeaks. Now they’re nothing but WikiLies.
Bruce Rolston (see link below, April 6) has a good post and analysis on this. Bruce has served in Afghanistan with the Canadian military.

“So much for WikiLeaks. Now they’re nothing but WikiLies. ”
Is it an official offshoot of the Liberal Party of Canada ?
WikiLeaks..carrying on the Goebbels tradition

i downloaded and watched the whole 39 minutes.
these guys were obviously armed (ak’s & rpg’s).
the only thing this video calls into question is the
journalistic integrity of the dead reuters guy.
rest in pieces, dumbass.

War is ugly, and is certainly uncomfortable to watch.
When snippets of video are taken out of context, such as this and Rodney King ect, it is so very easy to be outraged.
As a former Police Officer, a 10-07 is a suicide. A typical radio exchange would be, “Ya, I’m out at the scene of the -07, and it’s a pretty good one……meaning, there is in fact a dead body, and it’s either real old and stinking or there’s blood and guts everywhere.
The casual observer would be appalled that an Officer would refer to a victim’s death as “Good”.
Sort of the same when the pilot in the video referred to the initial shooting and dead bodies as “Nice”……to the uninformed, it would make the pilots out to be bloodthirsty cowboys, instead of using a one word communication to relay that the shoot was a good one, and that there doesn’t seem to be any other threats or targets.
Even on the shortened video, I saw one of the bad guys with a rifle. Sorry journalists…..if you want to ‘imbed’ yourselves with terrorists that are killing members of the most lethal armed forces in the history of mankind, you are risking your lives.
They took a risk, and they paid for it.
Kind of similar to how the journalist from the Calgary Herald died. She took a (much more reasonable) risk.
But…..war is hell and people die. Some even by mistake.
Mission accomplished, it doesn’t matter what the video actually shows, primetime TV news reported it as a release of evidence of US troops murdering unarmed civilians. When was the last time you saw a correction on primetime TV news?
The weekly standard has been running this to ground for some time.
Warren Kinsella thinks wikileaks did a great job. He deserves a boot to the head – figuratively speaking. Commenting on his site won’t work because he censors any opposition.
Out of the tens of thousands of war videos that are under lock and key, how is it that someone was able to access this particular one? The answer is that this wasn’t a “leak”.
This video was “released” because Reuters has enough pull with all the Obama Marxist Progs. The fact that it ended up with Wikileaks so as it could be fashioned into propaganda is all just part of the ruse.
This whole thing was a totally premeditated and engineered mis-information ploy. We’ll be seeing a lot of this sort of trickery from the media scum during the run up to the US mid-term elections. They’ll do anything to keep their fellow confederates in power.
ANYTHING!!!
I watched the CBC news with Mansbridge this week and they showed the video. They never mentioned the fact about these people having RPGs and AK47s.
When the day comes, I hope we don’t forget who the Vichy were…what goes around, comes around.
Subsiduary of G. Soros.
It’s not Vietnam anymore. There are other sources of information now. The new-hires straight out of college already trust the web to give differing views, and a couple of keywords supplied to “help” their searches have helped their scepticism immensely. There’s the reason the younger demographic isn’t watching the evening news anymore.
This story was the front page headline in Tuesday’s Vancouver Sun – which I think can be accurately described as a vicious leftwing rag. Their headline read “Video shows lethal strikes on civilians, journalists” with a sub-head “Us helicopter pilots cheer, laugh during 2007 attack that killed 12 in Baghdad” Nice, eh?
I’m sure they would have made Goebbels proud…
“When was the last time you saw a correction on primetime TV news?”

About as frequently, or perhaps more frequently, than leftard blogs. They were positively org*smic about this.
Gee, I managed to miss the whole propaganda episode by virtue of not having cable TV or even rabbit ears.
My whole take-home from this is
A) that WikiLeaks is just another MSM propaganda mill to be added to the ignore list,
B) Reuters is in league with Al Qaeda or their guys wouldn’t be getting blown up trying to film from Al Qaeda’s side of the battle,
C) the US military is a stand-up organization, hard at work shooting bad guys that need killin’.
Somewhere a leftist’s head just exploded. ~:D
In a stark assessment of shootings of locals by US troops at checkpoints in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal said in little-noticed comments last month that during his time as commander there, “We’ve shot an amazing number of people and killed a number and, to my knowledge, none has proven to have been a real threat to the force.”
The comments came during a virtual town hall with troops in Afghanistan after one asked McChrystal to comment on the “escalation of force” problem. The general responded that, in the nine months he had been in charge, none of the cases in which “we have engaged in an escalation of force incident and hurt someone has it turned out that the vehicle had a suicide bomb or weapons in it.”
In many cases, he added, families were in the vehicles that were fired on.[…]

Sure dizzy, as compared to all the -other- times when the vehicle did have a bomb in it and blew up a whole checkpoint.
If there were never bombs in cars, they wouldn’t be shooting guys rushing the checkpoint would they?
What’s the major cause of Canadian casualties in Afghanistan dizzy? Think hard, you can do it…
Tell it to the marines.
I forbade my kids from using Wikipedia as the source in their (home)school research papers long time ago.
It’s been hijacked by the ‘wikipedians’ AKA unemployed activists in their mom’s basement for whom facts don’t matter.
So much for ‘everyone can edit’.
