More Pavilions At Folkfest

But I will say this. Some of the guys who tried to kill us are Carleton students and I recognize who they are. What is this country coming to?”

It’s coming to full Trudeaupian fruition, that’s what.
Update: According to the Ottawa Citizen;

Jason MacDonald, a spokesman for the University [said] “Our job is to make sure that these debates can happen without anyone’s personal safety being threatened.

Excuse me while I go look up the word “debate”. It clearly doesn’t mean what I think it does.
Update 2: ET reminds us that Nick was the “only member of the Carleton Student Council who voted against their inane and juvenile attempt to stop the [Shriner’s] fundraising for cystic fibrosis on campus.”

  1. I believe Irael Apartied week is to blame, it gives the leftwing nuts and the Islamic haters a venue to spew their anti-semitism under the guise of solidarity to Palestine. Cancel those hatefest events or we’ll be reading more and more stories where the leftwing nuts get violent.

  2. bill – yes, cystic fibrosis strikes both sexes equally. And although more common in those of European descent it does strike Africans and Asians.
But you don’t expect a student council, embedded and emboldened within postmodernist relativism, to refer to the FACTS, do you?
After all, to them, reality is what one subjectively perceives. The reality that acts as the law is the one with the political authority or the machete behind it.

  3. “I’ll like to gather up the last 12 Liberal Ministers of immigration and string them up by their necks from the nearest oak tree.”
While you’re at it, string up Brian Mulroney, too,he was responsible for ramping up third world immigration to Canada in the 80’s.

    Read all about it.
The veracity of the attack claims can be easily checked by questioning the pub staff, but they aren’t mentioned in the Citizen article.
Bergamini had better be “very careful out there”.

  4. When it comes to multiculturalism, remember, Muslims are the bathwater, all else are the baby.

  5. This link from a discussion in the National Post is a must read from Nicolai Sennels, a Danish psychologist published a book entitled Among Criminal Muslims: A Psychologist’s Experience from Copenhagen. In his book, Nicolai Sennels shares a psychological perspective of this Muslim Culture, its relationship to anger, handling emotions and its religion. He based his research on hundreds of hours of therapy with 150 young Muslims in the Copenhagen youth jail. EuropeNews interviewed the author about his book and its consequences on integration of Muslims in Europe.
I fully agree with his conclusions

  6. ….In Canada, you do not have the constitutional right to self defence. If withdrawl (running away) is possible to extricate yourself from violent harm and you do not afford yourself of this option you are charged with assault etc….
    The moral is…RUN!

Here is what the Supreme Court of India, using British Common Law as it’s basis, had to say recently about a landmark case of self-defense:
“The law does not require a law-abiding citizen to behave like a coward when confronted with an imminent, unlawful aggression.”
“As repeatedly observed by this court, there is nothing more degrading to the human spirit than to run away in face of danger.”

  7. “Maybe we should consider the impact that words can have in accelerating the argument to the point where people feel that this kind of behaviour is acceptable,”
Duh… if you haven’t noticed, some viewpoints victimize people just for having them.
Today you can claim “victim” if you’ve been offended. That is a hole $hit-load of victim hood.
I’m sure this bodes well for those who offer victim services.

Not quite. Because of the absence of Property Rights in The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, you are technically right when you say we do not have a “constitutional” right.
    However, Sections 26,27, 28, 30, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, 40 and 41 in the Criminal Code relate to your rights respecting self-defence and protection of property.
Happily, Canadian Courts – unlike their British counterparts – have (so far) generally respected the intent and reason behind the legislation.
Let’s see if we can keep them on that track.

  9. I think ET covered it well. This was a criminal offence and I am waiting to see what kind of action is taken by law enforcement. I also admit that I find it strange that no one at the PUB bothered to get involved (assuming that the story is correct) and I wonder why these two did not request that the police be called before leaving the PUB. I am not in the least suggesting that the event did not take place, but there seems to be a fair amount of missing information. That said, I also admit that when I was the same age and drinking, I did not always act rationally.

  10. I would like to add that this is not about Jews or Zionists. It is about criminal law. I do not support the concept of “hate crimes”, so therefore refuse to name it as such. However, it was clearly a crime, assuming the description of the event is correct.

I have no doubt of the number of solid citizens who happen to be Muslims.

What caught my eye is the repeating of a statement in the text in block letters.

Canadian Islam is more moderate, more diverse and more open to debate than American or even British Islam

I smiled to myself and seemed to recall the voice and smiling demeanor of Lloyd Robertson.
Well, says Lloyd, we can all feel a little smug this evening…… In an urbane fashion he then tells of something that Canada does better than the Americans.

Well, for Canada’s sake I hope Stephen is right. Yes, if Little House on the Prairie is any indicator, we do not have any worries, ‘cept the likes of Ann Coulter, and Jewish students at the University.
