Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Biznessman your comments make me so sick to read, and you are wrong on so many points, that it would be a wasted effort debating you.
Seriously, you are extrapolating pure fiction from a few facts, and it is clear you have a limited understanding of African history, gathered from limited sources.
Why not Africa? What’s holding them back?
Geography accounts for a lot of it. Thomas Sowell (a black conservative who certainly managed to climb out of the bucket) has noted that although Africa is many times bigger than Europe, Europe has many more miles of coastline. Europe’s jagged coastline and river system means there are a lot of natural ports and that’s where cities spring up. And you need cities for civilization, and waterways and roads for the transmission of ideas and goods. Almost every great city in Europe is either located on a river or has a terrific natural port. On Africa’s relatively smooth coasts, there are very, very few natural ports. (Not to mention that Europe was blessed with a generally temperate climate, rather than one that is mainly either desert-hot or jungle hot.)
It’s no accident that the only ancient civilization of note in Africa was located on the Nile. Look at the rest of the terrain – desert and jungle. No cities, no architecture, just isolated tribes mired in a stone age culture.
Speedy,
Buy some medicine and grow a pair. Facts tend to make the self-righteous know-it-alls sick.
