… a light comes on:
Addressing the Tea Party, Sarah Palin wrote three notes on her hand: “Energy, Taxes, Lift American Spirits.” Why? She already had notes in front of her on the podium. Surely she could remember three simple themes. Why write notes on her hand?
Here’s my take on why: she knew that they would be visible when she gave the speech. And she knew that she would be made fun of — as so stupid that she needs to write notes on her hand. And that’s one of her most effective tactics — to be made fun of. It’s an integral part of her strategy of standing in for hardworking, Middle Americans, derided by the condescending, know-it-all liberal elites.

No idols wrote; Most Americans are not intelligent enough or competent enough or capable enough of being the leader of the free world…
What is this free world of which you speak??
No Idols molests children.
If you ask me what my proof is, I will just repeat the accusation as evidence.

Thank for proving the point I made up above that conservatives are equal to the task of attacking the messenger when they don’t like the message.
DanBC:
With all the due respect you deserve, are you a moron with a severe reading comprehension problem or just such a rabidly blind Palin-idolizer that you think anyone who questions her must be crushed no matter what their overall views on life? I’m thinking a lot of both.
I’ll repost what I wrote by cutting and pasting r e a l l y s l o w l y for your benefit:
How on earth does Obama’s competence have anything to do with whether Palin is competent???
The fact that Obama is an incompetent airbag doesn’t make Palin suddenly competent and capable of being a good president.
In fact, if anything, Obama proves quite definitively that proven governing and leadership experience is a job requirement for probably the single most important and difficult job in the entire world.
And Palin doesn’t have it. She has more governing experience than Obama did a year ago, but just barely and certainly not enough.
She has poise and a lot of good wisecracking (sorry, wisecrackin’) lines and she has good presence when she is not dealing with serious or complicated stuff. In other words, she’s a good celebrity activist like those nitwits from Hollywood trying to save the world. She’s can’t even hold her own at Fox.
But that is not the stuff of Presidents. Whoa be to the world if she ever became Prez – and the least of our concerns would be her political ideology.
Wow, phil answering for no idol,no idol answering for phil,it’s like watching Obama’s head doing the bump between teleprompters, dizzying.
Who is phil?
I do not think she seeks moquery. I think she wrote these hand notes as a no-nonsense, low-to-the-ground response to Obama’s curious addiction to teleprompters.
She wants to remind everyone that she speaks without notes, without prompter. Who, then, is the idiot?
phil’s no idol.
Manny:
Give me a break. She read from written notes for 45 minutes.
She slipped up. An amateur moment. The more you defend her, the bigger the slip up is made to seem, and the more important the next one will be.
Palin’s own response, a little self mockery, was far better, writing “hi mom” on her right hand the next day for show (she had to erase the word “right” first). Would have been better if she didn’t try to make her slip up an attack.
If she really wanted to connect with “the average
American”, she would have just said something along the lines of “these are important issues, the weight of this important convention had me a little nervous and so I wanted to make sure I was crystal clear to the American people about how we work together to get out of Obama’s mess. So I quickly jotted down a few thoughts.” 4 weeks later it no longer is an issue, but everyone thinks of her as a little less celebrity, a little more human because we’d be thinking, ‘I’d probably have done the same thing’.
Instead, we get this uber-out there defence theories about how it was some deep thinking plot to make a mockery of Obama and…. blah blah blah.
It really is too funny.

Only ever your sloppy seconds Dogbert, though you stuff to those kids that I never could. And I have photos of you doing it.
All you liberals do is attack the messenger when you don’t like the message.
Dogbert: Why do you hate the troops so much?
