  1. “There has got to be a medical explanation.”
The teleprompter wasn’t set for phonetic spellings, Sgt.

  2. lucky the TOTUS didnt have to say “colonel”.
he might recognize it if it was on a bucket of chicken but not out of context say like on medical exam.

  3. Yeah, why IS Colonel pronounced so goofily, and not like it’s spelled and said in french? (Col-LO–Nelle)
Must be a military thing. Lieutenant is even wierder:
“Left-tenant” in British English – correctly describing the French origin of the rank which translates into “Place Holder”.
“Loo-tenant” in american English, which correctly replaces the French sound with an english mangling.
As much as I think Obama is a tool, this is to my mind an innocent faux-pas only indicating unfamiliarity with US Military ranks.
    Not like the Canadian Defense Minister pronouncing PPCLI as P – P – C – L -ONE
( for our non canadians: PPCLI – Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry aka P – P – C – L – EYE is a famous & storied regiment in our very small army. Not knowing that, for a defense minister, is pretty damnned agressively ignorant.)

  4. For the Commander In Chief to not know that corpsmen are not corpses is pretty scary. The most powerful military in the world and his finger is on the button. Yikes!!

  5. “only indicating unfamiliarity with US Military ranks”
Kind of an odd unfamiliarity, considering that he’s Commander-in-Chief of the US military.

  6. Given the current state of governance over-reach, I think that virtually every politician exemplifies the Peter Principle upon election. In Obama’s case, he rams the point home every time he opens his mouth. From Community Organizer (poverty/union-pimping lawyer) to CEO of Super Leviathan with absolutely nothing in between.
Until government shrinks to a reasonable semblance of functional legitimacy, the truly omniscient couldn’t pull it off.

  7. The supposed once the Harvard Law editor might in the last year of noticed at his military Joint Staff meetings a representative of the Marine Corpse, eh?
( Obama. Affirmative action bright my arse. )

  8. Come on guys it is only a big deal when George Bush mispronounces a word. The pronunciation WILL be changed for the convenience of “THE ONE”

  9. Obama thinks the military employs teams whose only purpose is to carry the corpses of the dead civilian babies the marines have killed on their way to the oild fields.

  10. The pronunciation WILL be changed for the convenience of “THE ONE”
Who was that king who had a lisp which resulted in his subjects making many of the pronunciations lisp-ish out of deference? Spanish?
    Would Vitruviuth know, maybe?

  11. That is because before he got elected, the only thing he knew about the military was that they brought the bodies back to Dover, Delaware, and he needed to get cameras in there for his campaign. So Corpse – men made perfect sense.
I wonder if the liberals see the irony in the fact that they taught this destroy the leader game? Don’t get me wrong, it has to be done, and I have been doing my part, but we learned it from them.
I think the tea parties are a response to the obvious fact that we got outworked in the last election, and now they want to run every detail of our lives.

  12. i’d be worried about his ability to pronounce “lets print more money and create more nanny state” then this little faux pas.But then again, one wonders what his Marine guard at the front door think.

  13. I didn’t know there were dialects in the U.S. military. I thought there was the military way of pronouncing things and the wrong way.
Perhaps he should post pictures of Canadian soldiers on the White House web site to show his commitment to the military.

  14. yes….austrian speaking corpses …on the streets of OUR cities….ohhhhh you foolish neocons…throw down your weapons…resistance is futile…

  15. All this after learning to salute from an unnamed insider that taught him a ‘secret’ salute only known to insiders. Unless that dude was wearing “The Medal” I think it is kinda usual but sloppy.

  16. I think the press would have gone nuklar if GWB had said this.
you spell potato I spell potatoe.
so far the One still gets a pass from the press.

  17. cal2: don’t worry, I think that this incident will become common knowledge with or without the press.

  18. Harry Reid Defends: Says It’s A “Dialect”
Sounds like a communist dialectic argument to me.

  19. It’s not dialect….it’s ignorance!
The affiramitive active POTUS has demonstrated once again he is not smarter than a 5th grader.
W’s wife proved she could say “nuclear”.
O’s wife is limited to the maxist fist salute.

  20. Too small to consider…
Better to stick to errors of judgment of some serious import.
Heaven knows there are plenty to choose from.
