Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

If the ice “raised” after two of three jumped off, how high was the ice before the first one got on?
Kate and Gord Tulk – maybe the walri were born on that ice mushroom.

Since Ive been alive, every 10 years like locusts the cons descend with yet another universal World wide con.
The money always ends up in criminal hands. Mostly Marxist. Between bouts of stings, they set up the new ones by fertilizing groups of idiots who believe anything. Including of course the ever excitable MSM. Looking for nightmares to sell ads.
Thus it has ever been, & will be. Baring divine intervention.

It’s funny how the earth seems to heal iself. No need for new laws and scientific intervention.
“…isn’t the reflection of the mast on the ship a might longish compared to the reflection of the walrus in the foreground?”
it’s all in the angles of view. photographers tend to take it for granted. as to the physics of the optical effect I’m afraid i slept thru that one.
Could still be attached. It looks like berg bits on the water but the mushroom may still be attached and a bridge collapsed.
More CFCs are no problem, the director of the IPCC owns several factories making the gas (and copping huge monies for disposing the R13 byproduct gas) so the UN could, using our tax money, pay him to vent it out!
Jema, maybe the walrus ate some mushrooms and this is all just a wild and trippy hallucination.
It’s on a serving dish! Recipes anyone?
Easy explanation. With the walrus well off-centre and the plane level, it’s obvious the “shroom” is planted on the beach. As others have commented, the walrus simply swam onto the berg when the tide was in.
The problem is the shadow behind the Walrus (on top of the mushroom). It says the sun is shining from 1 to 2 oclock. Why isn’t the near mushroom tossing shadows?
is that a cellphone tower on the land behind?
I went to the greenpeace website and none of the ships seem to have a rear radio antenna.
This scene is so obviously photoshopped that it scarcely invites credibility.
The walrus sits on solid ice, and sections of the ice and beast have been grafted onto a semi-melted spike of ice.
The reflection underneath is a fairly even rectangle moved into position, even showing the amateurish paste job at lower center where the photographer didn’t take the trouble to meld the hues of the added rectangle witht he surroundings. The rectangle pasted in is obvious if you look.
The even cut-off from the walrus’s butt to the opposite edge (at the mushroom’s cap) are also strongly indicative that they are just a paste job.
The shadows are indicative of about three suns shining on the imaginary scene.
And the photographer is claiming that the shot was real? Only dewy-eyed Greenpeaceniks who have just taken a fresh swig of the Kool-Aide can believe this paste job to be real.
Save the file, and then look at it and zoom in to look at the pixels around the walrus platform. Those pixels look different from those of the ice chunk in the foreground. But then again, I don’t know if that’s normal or not.
You’d think that a nature photographer who goes into the Arctic and sees something as unusual as three walruses on an ice platform, would be snapping off as many shots as possible, including some of that walrus falling off the breaking platform. Now, don’t you think THAT picture would be even more dramatic for Greenpeace?
Revnant Dream said “fertilizing groups of idiots who believe anything” Very creative line, love the use of the word fertilizing in this sentence -do you mind if I borrow it? I think it so good, Kate could use it as one of her tag headlines with a minor change: FertiLIEzed Idiots or group idiots or village idiots. Kudos for originality, creativity and truth.
