  1. I wonder whose fault is it that Green(sic!)land is now under thick shield of ice. Perhaps the ‘industrialized’ vikings’, who dared to plant wheat there.
Sometimes I get a feeling that the left watches too much movies. Perhaps their fear of warmth can be explained by them watching Alien Vs. Predator, and their fear of computers by Die Hard 4.

  2. “Big freeze kills at least 80 across Europe”
THE AGW disciples want that number multiplied many times over. Any decrease in temps will surely amplify the toll. Funny how the presser (TC) had it as frontpage on the website this morning, they’ve buried it by late afternoon

  3. The part that was scary was the AWOL staff. Let me toss this out … These are union employees, they are used to going in everyday to their mindless job with zero responsibility, zero accountablity, zero incentive to perform.
That is the way workers are now. That is an attitude learned in the government schools nowadays. Nothing is ever your fault and you shouldn’t have your feelings hurt by a mean boss telling you what to do.
This reminds me of an episode in Asimov’s Foundation trilogy called the “Tech Men”. These were the people who minded the technology, but it had worked well with no problem for generations, so no one really had any experience with handling a problem. As a result no one even had much knowledge anymore about how things worked.
Zoom back to now and and we find that we are deprogramming ourselves of the knowledge that we accumulated over recent generations.
Most people don’t know how things work or why. We are running out of farmers and back yard mechanics so few are learning anything about the infrastructure that we rely on.
Eventually we will look like the monkey who is holding a human skull and pondering it.

  4. Remember this is the crowd who want to rule the world….UN/NWO is just the EU writ large…..
It is obvious that not only this problem was encountered before but that, much like the problem that lead to the Space Shuttle blowing up, was then neglected.
Then after the break-downs….the lack of flexibility or a viable plan “B”.

  5. The “power cars” were obviously designed by people who had overly much faith in Global Warming, which was what they called “the Mother of All Hoaxes” 15 years ago.

  6. Didn’t we just see the vid where Prof. Carter claimed we were so focused on trying to CHANGE the climate, that we were missing the opportunity to PREPARE for change in the climate?
    Kate nails it.

  7. Aw heck…just pump out more Co2…that will warm things up a little and delay the coming LITTLE ICE AGE!

  8. its not just in Europe, in Calgary the new LRT stations are obviously designed with global warming in mind. the glass “roof” is 25ft above the platform downtown, the new 6th street station had sections roped off so waiting passengers wouldnt be hit by avalanches of snow off the roof. the newer stations on the north west leg have gullwing style rooves that funnel the cold wind onto the platform and leak ice water onto the platform. They have to send sweepers onto the platforms to get rid of the snow and salt the platforms to stop ice from forming.the inside of these 10 million dollar escalator covers are wrecked because of the salt and water tracked in. Some of the new stations downdown already have cracks in the slabs which they have been patching with grout , not even 8months old or a full winter. the cheaper more sensible stations like lions park and sunnyside have wooden rooves with shingles, however , the shingles went off them a year ago and now there is bare plywood. you report it but apparently they are too busy building new leaky monstrosities to look after the old ones. Im convinced that the designers were hired out of Miami.

  9. Cal2 Calgary isn’t alone in expecting Global Warming. Edmonton forgot to keep the snow removal crews on retainer. The parking lots are spotless except you can’t get there by car, the streets are covered in snow.

  10. O’Gaia narcissist*: CRU the flying (again) polar bears.
“*This is [Gaia’s] sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”
“Copenhagen was the anti-climax of the century and the feeling of disappointment, anger and frustration from those who wanted more is palpable.”
^^^ “In Brisbane, campaigners tied nooses around the necks of giant soft toy polar bears and threw them off balconies and bridges.”
    …-
    “Copenhagen – no full stops”

    *O’Gaia’s narcissist:
“The “small people”, the “rank and file”, the “loyal soldiers” of the narcissist – his flock, his nation, his employees – they pay the price. The disillusionment and disenchantment are agonizing. The process of reconstruction, of rising from the ashes, of overcoming the trauma of having been deceived, exploited and manipulated – is drawn-out. It is difficult to trust again, to have faith, to love, to be led, to collaborate. Feelings of shame and guilt engulf the erstwhile followers of the narcissist. This is his sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”

  11. The real god is tired of losers following false gods, so he punishes all of us until we ferret out these lefties, stop buying their newspapers, stop listening to their lies, and banish them to the idiot bins of stupidity. Gore Mann Suzuki Strong Pachuari on and on please shut up for the sake of those that have so far froze to death and for the many more that will not be able to afford power, and freeze, thanks to you lunatic assholes and you worldwide scam. Hope your proud you bastards.

  12. I’m pretty darn sure that had they mounted a windmill on top of those trains, they could have made it through that tunnel.
Somebody should have consulted David Suzuki.

  13. Reality bites hard. Having people die in cold weather, all over Europe, may be just the sort of mental shock that these Lefties need to understand the subtlety of warm=good and cold=bad. It’s too bad that they can’t just figure it out. How many years of this will be needed to once and for all kill this idiotic concept of AGW?

  14. grock brings up a good point. Its hard to die from weather that is too hot. Unless you are baby locked inside a car or an old fossil banged up in a French hospital with no A/C, 115F is not a problem. Its a nuisance you can tolerate stark naked with zero material assistance other than water and shade. Water is cheap, shade is free.
Cold weather, on the other hand…
I’ll also note at this time that it is very difficult to grow a crop of anything on a glacier. So make mine global warming, please!

  15. Can anyone confirm – I heard that the temperature was approx. -3 degrees Celsius – here in Calgary, temperature will be -21 degrees Celsius tonight.
On vacation in Rome last December, the cab driver told us it gets really cold in January – 0degrees!
My sister from Regina, said her city experiences -40 Celsius in January. He replied ‘That is just so WRONG!
My heart goes out to France if the weather was -3C.
