107 Replies to “The Libranos: The Photo Contest”

  1. Remember the Lame Stream media outrage when the posters of Obama portrayed as clown appeared? The official opposition of Canada posts a picture of the siting PM getting assassinated and they won’t report the story, MSM is becoming a hazard to truth and justice and journalistic integrity.

  2. Are we ever going to see anything smart and progressive from these baboons?
I can’t believe they’re holding this juvenile contest if they’re so progressive.
Looks like knuckle draggers to me.

  3. Did someone show this to CTV? I’m sure they would make it front page news …. NOT…. but they sure would if it was Iffy in the pic and it was on the Conservative website.

  4. “What kind of person would vote for a party that would post that picture?”
I think we all know the answer to that one. Inasmuch as the Liberals have engaged in some of the most outrageous activities imaginable over the years, including large scale theft from the public treasury, there are still plenty of “progressive” dimwits out there who will vote for them.

  5. The cartoon you’ve posted with Stephen Harper being assassinated is the worst of the bunch but it isn’t the only one that shows a disturbing psychology amongst more than a few Liberal Party members.
I wonder if the contributors are aware that the Nazis in Germany used cartoons in the 1930’s to belittle, demean, and dehumanize all Jews? I wrote about this awhile back. Though the aforementioned posting is focused on similar tactics by U.S. Democrats, the sickness is precisely the same.

  6. The Bilderberg Group Frank McKenna. The smell of money.
And Frank McKenna has the nerve to call the Tories “thugs”? Such hypocrisy!
Also, this is happening in the Post-Kinsella Liberal Party.
Apparently it wasn’t just Warren who was the problem…

  7. Had something similar been posted on the official Tory web site, the CBC would be running several days worth of coverage, including endless commentary from their various Liberal mouthpieces. Yet another reason (as if we needed more) to end the CBC subsidy.

  8. Heh. Ok, when I’m wrong, I’ll man up and admit it. Clicking on the “Politics” tab of the CBC News website, and this story is being prominently covered there.

  9. I think that will only help Mr. Harper and his popularity. The moronic Liberals are sunk so deep in the polls they’ll try anything.

  11. Ooh boy, look out everyone! Brace yourself for an unprecedented onslaught of media condemnation from the Star, the Globe, CBC, CTV, etc. The Conservatives were widely condemned by these outlets for the – quaint by comparison – Puffin-poop ads, so you can be sure that a photo, on the official Liberal website, of Stephen Harper being shot and killed will result in endless discussions about how vile and nasty and dangerous the Liberals are, and about how they have brought the level of political discourse in the country to a new low, and are importing American-style character-assassination politics into Canada, etc., etc.

Seriously, though, as other commenters have noted, if a photoshopped picture of Dion being murdered were displayed on the official Conservative Party website, it would be turned into a *massive* scandal with wall-to-wall coverage. There’d be expressions of outrage from Canadians on the street; the “gun issue” would be re-raised, along with the Montreal massacre, of course, and various GTA “experts” and spokespeople for various NGO’s would be trotted out to explain that the scandalous incident betrays the Conservatives’ cavalier attitude towards guns, etc etc.
I eagerly await similar coverage on tonight’s National. The moment I hear the opening music I’ll hold my breath until I see the story covered.
To my dear nephew, I leave….

  12. Also, this is happening in the Post-Kinsella Liberal Party.
Apparently it wasn’t just Warren who was the problem…

    ~Canadian Sentinel
I’m sure Warren Kinsella mentored a number of followers or at least inspired them.
The amazing thing is that they are comfortable enough with this kind of view until an outsider points out how radical and unwholesome it really is.
They truly live in a fringe echo chamber out of which they confidently proclaim to know what “Canada’s values are”.

  13. The CBC has a comment on the issue:
    http://www.cbc.ca/politics/insidepolitics/2009/12/oh-liberals-did-you-learn-nothing-from-the-puffin-incident.html
It is rather lame considering the treatment that was given when the CPC displayed similar poor judgement. However, I really did not expect much more from the CBC.
There is certainly no question that the shooting photograph is in bad taste … very bad taste. However, I place it in the same class as burning someone in effigy. It is something I would not do but it is not criminal. Viewers should take note that the type of radicals who would burn someone in effigy are currently influencing the LPC web site.

  14. ” MSM is becoming a hazard to truth and justice and journalistic integrity.

heh….love it. Rose has just add one HUGE oxymoron, even better than jumbo shrimp,to the English language: journalisitc integrity.

  15. I had a chuckle at a couple but I’m sort of confused with SH as a communist partier. Is that supposed to be ironic, Alannis?

  16. Don’t worry, I’ve alerted the CBC about those pictures. I’m sure we’ll see it covered on the National tonight, and the next night, and the next, and the next . . . .

  17. Brent Weston, the Left and the Big Old Media would call it a “hate crime”, had Harper been blessed with a somewhat darker skin tone, or had he been a GLBTer or a Muslim… and rest assured the “Human Rights” Commission would be salivating like a wolf eyeing a fallen deer.
Just a white Christian conservative guy? Nah. No crime. Move along.
But do it with Obama’s image? All hell would break loose.

  18. Um, I meant to use a colon after “Brent Weston”, not a comma, just to be clear. Was addressing Brent, not lumping him in with the Left and the BOM. To do such a thing would be considered a grave insult, after all, eh!

  19. I googled ‘pooping puffin’ and got 46,500 hits. I wonder how this incident will fare?
Since this is depicting the assassination of a sitting Prime Minister, I would expect that there should be a public apology from Ignatieff, somebody should be fired, and possible criminal charges laid. Inciting hatred or political murder or something like that.

  20. I thought the Puffinpoop ads were silly and childish, but this is in a completely different category – it’s extremely nasty and hateful, and it just might put our PM at risk if some unbalanced individual sees it as an incitement to do Stephen Harper harm.
By the way, has Iggy said anything about this?

  21. The Globe also has a story up:
    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/blogs/bureau-blog/liberal-photo-contest-takes-macabre-turn/article1401015/
Even the apologies are very weak and do not reflect the seriousness of the deed:
This morning, a senior Liberal official said the picture had been taken down. “That one slipped by and should not have been posted,” he said. “Mind you, coming from them, it feels like Attila the Hun complaining about the Romans’ table manners.”
    CS:
I appreciate both your posts; I was ignoring HRCs and commenting on the involvement of criminal justice officials.

  22. Evan, top story, conservative MPs boycott committee re detainees. No quorum, no meeting.
And talking about prorouging parliament till after the olympics.
    Where did that come from.

  23. Just the fact that the Liberal party would claim that the picture was posted without it passing the approval of moderators shows how amateurish they really are. Next they will try to claim it was a conservative who posted it.
    mike

  24. “This must be a very hard time for liberals, no power, no glory and no graft money.”
I live in the Ottawa area and have some connection to the tedious corridors of the Federal Government.
Let me tell you that every nanosecond they are out of office drives the Libs further to distraction. They just hate being in the wilderness.
Isn’t it great? I’m savouring every moment!

  25. The Librano$ remind me of an animal that’s in its death throes; with a spear through its heart, it’s howling in pain, thrashing its tail, trying to take out the spear thrower.
These photos are disgusting; these guys have no ability to discern what is “fair in love and war” and what is downright unacceptable and over the top, war or no war. And they want to govern the country?????

  26. The thing that is truly disturbing is that this is an official Liberal website, not some juvenile Young Liberals goofing around on their own personal blogs.
I REALLY hope that the message here is read loud and clear back at CPC HQ.
When I make a political contribution, I’m helping fund this negative campaigning, and I don’t like it. (I’m talking about ALL parties)

  27. Well, DaninVan, it’s one thing to take the political mickey out of your opponent by stating facts from their own mouths or about their activities/lives and quite another to give vent to one’s party’s death wish for the leader of their political opponents.
IMO, the negative ads the CPC have run aren’t in the same league — under the sea — as the Librano$’ vile wet dreams.

  28. Liberals suggesting on their website that Prime Minister Harper be assassinated. This must be one of the Liberal values that we hear so much about.

  29. This issue has just prompted me to make a donation to the LPOC.My donation $0.02, along with this comment:
My 2 cents on you immature photo contest.
    The LPOC is pathetic.

  30. One of those ” I was Stephen Harper & did nothing at Copenhopin” will be worth a mint when the climate frauds are completely exposed for the cons artists they are.
It will become a shirt of pride. Another lefty plan gone sour.

  31. This Liberal photo was just as sick as the Conservative photo from 2008 showing bullet holes beside Stephane Dion’s picture. Both these mini-scandals indicate just how out of teach each party’s braintrust really is.

  32. The irony.
If the World-tax advocates have their way, Canadians will be lucky to have a t-shirt to wear at all.
Thats the irony of that contest, all we will get is a lousy t-shirt.
No green-jobs, no mega-millions, nothing but higher taxes, onerous regulations, and a drastically reduced standard of living.
Canadians voted against a carbon tax, why do the greenies think we want to pay a world carbon tax?

  33. Kaplan – the holes in the Conservative poster showing holes in a background weren’t bullet holes and to make such a conclusion was pure speculation.
I had originally thought they were flowers and apart from the Dion vacuity, couldn’t understand them. By the way, bullet holes, if shaped like that would have had to have come from behind Dion.
Or was it, according to the article, about holes being poked in Dion’s Green Plan by ad hoc comments from various Liberals, including Ignatieff.
The Liberal poster showed the assassination of Harper; it was a clear statement of such an action. No comparison. Try again.

  34. The liberals cannot beat Harper, so they host a fantasy of murdering him.
Yep…I’ll vote for THAT gang of thieves for sure.

  35. (Black Mamba) “I think the Criminal Code covers most assassinations, Hans.
Is there any way this might be Kinsella’s fault?”
In the credits: No cat was harmed in the making of this picture.

  36. “Imagine if the GOP had posted a similar image of Obama. Do you think Obama worshipper Kinsella would say that it was ‘dumb’ and leave it at that?
Posted by: Gord Tulk at December 15, 2009 1:53 PM”
Can you imagine the shock and outrage had Obama been schmucked in the face with a resin statuette?

  37. I had an anonymous troll telling me he is Jewish and not a Liberal, go on a long winded, non-sensical diatribe about how I had no right to ask some serious questions about the German Nazi Party’s use of cartoons in the 1930’s and the Canadian Liberals assassination fantasies and ape fantasies of Stephen Harper.
And this after I explicitly stated that I was not drawing a direct comparison. But an indirect one in terms of methods used to dehumanize people, you bet I was.
Anyhow, long ago I stopped debating with Anonymous Cowards who inhabit the Rabid Leftosphere but I am incredulous at how some of them will defend ANY & ALL bad behaviour of their hate-filled comrades.

  38. Robert W. @ 1:21 – you are correct to raise the questions that you have – this is text book Nazi/Bolshivic tactics. Thank-you for drawing attention to the comparisons.
