Y2Kyoto: Trouble In Hopenchangen

Times of India;

In an unprecedented move, India on Saturday joined China and two other developing countries to prepare for a major offensive on rich nations at the Copenhagen conference on climate change next month.
The four countries, which include Brazil and South Africa, agreed to a strategy that involves jointly walking out of the conference if the developed nations try to force their own terms on the developing world, Jairam Ramesh, the Indian minister for environment and forests (independent charge), said.
[…]
The developing nations will also not accept any pressure from developed countries to establish legally binding emission targets at Copenhagen. Developing countries want to be allowed to reduce emissions voluntarily and take what they consider to be “nationally appropriate actions” he said.

  1. Newsbusters is reporting that Phil Jones is stepping down as head of the CRU!!! until the investigation is complete.

  2. Ken in Calgary – re stepping down – well, just like Acorn – hair shirt until the heat is off, then it will be business as usual

  3. Okay…Everybody take a deep breath and calm down.
BRIC—with the possible exception of Brazil are ruled/governed by very competant, intelligent people. More competant, IMHO, than the US with intelligence assets more than capable of surfing the WWW. They likely were ahead of the curve as far as assessing that the IPCC produced crap and that AGW was a fantasy and who was promoting it and why.
Stephen Harper’s letter, when he was still opposition, clearly expressed that AGW/KYOTO was just a socialist wealth transfer scheme. This would indicate that EVERYONE IN OTTAWA, INCLUDING TALIBAN JACK KNEW THEN AND WHY!
“No matter if the science is all phony, there are collateral environmental benefits…. climate change [provides] the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world.” – Christine Stewart, Canadian Environment Minister, Calgary Herald, December 14, 1998
THIS STATEMENT, UNINTENTIONALLY A FREUDIAN SLIP, INDICATES THE LIBRANOS KNEW.
All of which means that although we had suspicions, we didn’t really have anything to hang our hat on—they did.
E-mailing PMSH or your MP only gives notice that–NOW WE KNOW AND CAN PROVE IT.
Obviously, the knowledge that this was a scam, was wide-spread and national governmnts fit into 2 groups:
Those who had something to gain—
Those who were deciding how to stop the stampede in the face of the global MSM propaganda campaign.

  4. Hewitt: >>> “”It means climate change is happening here too, but with different consequences.”
Tell us more about those “different consequences”, Mr. Hewitt.
    …-
“Kenneth Hewitt, a glaciologist from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, is one of these scientists. He has been doing field studies in Pakistan’s Karakoram Mountains at the western reaches of the Himalayan range for the last 40 years.
Just back from that region, he told BBC News that he saw at least half a dozen glaciers that had been advancing since the last time he saw them – five years ago.
“Dozens of smaller, high altitude tributary glaciers have advanced including seven of Biafo Glacier and four of Panmah,” he says.
“It means climate change is happening here too, but with different consequences.”
    …-
BBC: The Mann From NUANCE reports.
    “Himalayan glaciers’ ‘mixed picture'”
“Some recent findings seem to contradict claims that the glaciers are retreating rapidly. Some glaciers are even said to be advancing.
There are clear signs of glacial retreat and ice melt from other parts of the world, but few field studies have been carried out in the Himalayas.
Its glaciers too were widely believed to be receding fast.”

  5. There’s only one stance Canada should take at Copenchange and we should stick to it.
    I posted this over at…
    http://www.straight.com/article-272939/vancouver/ahead-copenhagen-canada-vilified-tar-sands
Hasn’t made it through their moderater yet?
    Thats one mean article..
Canadas answer to Mr. Moonbot, and the Copenchange conference will cause the socialists heads to explode.
We will be demanding that our 1.3 billion acres of boreal forest carbon-sink be recognized as the single largest man-managed carbon-sink in the world, we have nurtured it, cultivated it and yes under our care it has grown and expanded.
Further more we demand our share of the trillions of dollars that will be collected from the real polluters of the world.
We estimate our share to be around 12 billion per/year give or take a million.
Also, Canada demands exemption from any carbon trading tax as we have already saved the planet, from a temperature rise of at least 2 deg.C. and we will continue to provide that protection for earth through good management of our forests.
    Your humble negotiator
    Joe Canadian.
    Ok ok sarc off……
With the way things are going it never hurts to ask, and it really would cause some heads to explode.
Send this on to your MP…seriously.

  6. Prentice and the Progressives will lay on a carbon tax on you next year – and tell you it’s an international obligation.
And you will sit down, shut up, and pay it.
    There’s a good Canadian.
    Do what you’re told.

  7. Wrong hardhead…
We should be exempt…We should be exempt…
    Will be our battle cry…
    com-on now repeat after me…
We should be exempt…We should be exempt…

  8. Chinese industry pollutes more per unit of production than industry here in the developed world.
The HopenChangen treaty will dramatically increase costs to industry here but not to industry in China.
So more production will move from the now more expensive industry here to the unchanged industry in China.
Therefore the treaty will increase pollution, not reduce it.
The only way this treaty could be dumber is if it was bigger.
Another thing, why are the same people who urge us to buy food locally to reduce the pollution caused by transportation also the ones who advocate this treaty that will increase transportation pollution by causing us to ship more raw materials to China and more finished products back here?
If it makes sense to buy a tomato locally to reduce the transportation pollution then it certainly makes sense to buy a ton of steel locally, especially since the steel mill here already pollutes less per ton than the one in China.

  9. the environazis have long been telling us that we are wrong and they are right and they had the bastardized science to prove it. it’s a religion and now they’ve been proven wrong, very very wrong and all that they hold true and dear is bullshit. cue the sound of heads exploding.
