Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Link brokded?
No. It’s either fixed or DMB’s long, long loading time (at least with my p.c.) fooled you into thinking it was a broken link.
Well, enough respect that about one out of three/four letters sent do get printed. Haven’t cracked the Gray Lady or WaPo yet, but have been in The Economist, Times Literary Supplement, NY Review of Books as well as divers Canadian papers, Globe included (for some reason National Post a real challenge, Toronto Star not), can’t complain too much. In any event one can then post ’em.

Keep up the good work Mark. There really is no end to the areas that need to be corrected in MSM.
Hmm, I don’t know. Mark is not always right.
For example he is somewhat wrong on the missile shield for Europe
a/ it was an act of “peace” – Russia opposed missile shield in Poland and Czech Republic
b/ it was a decision made very quickly by Obama without feedback from the relevant countries
c/ Russia is still going to put missiles near the Polish border – in Kaliningrad
d/ major aim of Israeli made sea-based missiles is not a defense of Europe.
e/in 1015 Obama may not be a president and his successor may have different ideas about missiles in Europe
*****
There is speculation going on about the scrapping of of missile shield by Obama.
The deal was supposedly brokered by Israel during this year visits of Israelis in Russia.
According to the deal:
US scraps the missile-shield in Poland. In return Russia agrees to work with US to contain Iran. Israel does not attack Iran. Finally US buy the missiles from Israel for the “new” sea-based defense.
