  1. CAn anyone verify if this tidbit is true about Lizzy May being sued?

    “shavluk said…
Well I hate to jump in here and burst any bubbles too badly but I agree with John Ogilvie on many things said.
And I want to add that I go to court suing E May January 4th 2010 and already hold proof she perjured herself with sworn court documents.”
I’m just the messenger, so I don’t offer any validity on the comments made by “shavluk” at “Far and wide”.

  2. Check out the front page of the National Post that places the Conservatives at 39% and the Libs in dire straits. Now is the time to go for the throat!

  3. I imagine the opposition members will stop playing “big man on campus” if that conservative lead looks to be holding..
What will they talk about this autumn?
I’d love to see S. Harper return to some conservative roots, although I am not holding my breath.
Do we suppose that the sting in the liberals eyes, is that their brand is broken? and not solely the fault of S. Dion?
ja! I laugh in their general direction.

  4. More shenanigans on Wall Street. At the always entertaining “zerohedge.com”, today’s lead story is how Goldman Sachs regularly provides its largest clients with information that it doesn’t release to the public until later. Doesn’t this sound like insider information? Somehow, when Martha Stewart makes a bad trade, she ends up in jail, but when GS routinely provides some clients with non-public information, and uses high frequency trading techniques to front run their own clients, the SEC turns a blind eye. Nice.

  5. The new polling – if it holds up – means that the conservatives will put more conservative legislation on the agenda – tax breaks or reform; tough on crime stuff for sure (it has a lot of traction in rural/suburban Ontario and que). Nothing red hot mind you just stuff that is popular with a very wide demographic – a demographic the slowly but steadily become more and more conservative thinking the longer Stephen Harper gently pushes the rudder to the right.
It reminds me of the joke duvall the old cop told Penn the young cop in Colors.

  6. marc in calgary “I’d love to see S. Harper return to some conservative roots”. I’m with you on this, but it most likely won’t happen anytime soon. Got to broaden the base ya know. It would be nice to see a few of the original planks nailed down.

  7. Kevinb:
it’s not insider trading unless GS is an owner or is on the board of the company in question or is doing work for the company that relates to the news that has yet to become public.

  8. kevinb:
the sharpest recollection I have about Ms Stewarts close encounter of the legal kind is the FACT that came out in the trial, is that evidence provided by one Larry Stewart (no relation) pointed to Martha’s guilt based on a supposed mismatch of the ink. mr forensics expert was charged with perjury when it came out that it wasn’t him who did the actual test and that the test was NOT done on ALL the ink of the so-called ‘damning document’.
in other words, the central case of the prosecution that Martha had inside info, was propped up by a liar.
larry the forensics expert got off the perjury charge because that would have given grounds for a dismissal or retrial. this we cannot have.
    “the law is an ass”
I gots a long, long, long and extensive recollection of factoids, events, trivia and cetera.

  9. Could find no mention of Obama Birthday celebrations on August 4th (his Birthday). Turns out Muslims do not celebrate their birthday’s only Mohammad’s birthday – probably just a coincidence though – he is so humble he probably did not want to make a big deal out of his Birthday.

  10. Polls

Also known as Kk. 108, to avoid confusion with Mozart’s work of the same number.

  12. Kevin, front running is a component of business model for every broker of any size, not violation. Welcome to the real world.

  13. Aaron – thanks for that – the link you posted states pretty much the same thing-birthdays are not celebrated in the Obama household. I find this interesting…again thanks for the link.
“Just over a week ago, Politico reported that the president told People that he and First Lady Michelle Obama do not give their children birthday presents in order to teach them limits. The Washington gossip blog Wonkette skewered him for that revelation, suggesting that his true “religious problem” is not that he’s a Muslim but a Jehovah’s Witness. How would it look if Obama himself suddenly walked into their private quarters followed by a parade of forklifts loaded with birthday presents for their daddy?”
On August 4, 2009 Obama gave cupcakes to Helen Thomas also born August 4th.

  14. Iggy’s Comfy Fur: Will it fly?
“In interviews last week some said the new staffing choices have created an awkward situation, as Mr. Davey and Ms. Fairbrother have been a couple since they met while working on Mr. Ignatieff’s first run for Parliament, in 2005.
The Liberal power couple live on Sparks St., near Parliament Hill, in the small apartment which Mr. Ignatieff and his wife, Zsuzsanna Zsohar, vacated…”

  15. The mope and wail makes there weekend immigration poll disappear I wonder why? Did it go the wrong way for them? Do the slime at the G&M have no honor? SCUMBAGS!!!

  16. i posted earlier on recent polls from Ipsos Reid
anyone catch the Sunday Nite News either Global National, CTV National or CBC to see if they reported on this.
Now we all know of course if this had of been a Liberal lead of 39% we would be seeing that for a week or more with related made up stories as to the PM’s outrage or demise etc…..

  17. I just checked the cbc website and they have not mentioned this poll. No surprise there.

  18. Wally, i just asked the same question in the First American in waiting post. That i had asked under readers tips earlier.
Agree Wally, “CBC” no surprise there at all, But like i said if this were Ignatieff & the Liberals in a commanding new lead You would not hear the end of it.

  19. “cant find the CBCpravda headline with the latest polls , can anyone else.”
It will be there before the end of the day no doubt. And if it’s not a recent (weighted) poll they will dredge up an old one. There should be some numbers just lying around somewhere. Lying?, oh my mistake!
    CRB
    Told Ya!

  20. Further the Polls
I just listened to the news on my local radio(cfos) station here in Owen Sound
They are reporting the new Harris Decima statistical tie, Only they have said that if an election were held the Liberals would form the Govt.
I always knew the local channel news guys were liberal leaning,But this is just B**S*** as there was absolutly Nothing on the Ipsos-Reid poll indicating a 39% lead for the conservatives & If they station did report this would they say The Conservatives should form a Majority if an election was held today? Most likely Not.
