Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Just think how low in the pole’s he’d be if there was a real conservative government instead of the lib-lite thats there now.
What’s the Liberal obsession with choosing academic leaders?
Interesting punchline. I don’t get too much interest in Ignatieff bashing however.
He and his party seem quite irrelevant lately. And thankfully I don’t hear much out of “the video professor”, as someone else risibly named him.
Good grief, with the apocalyptic Carmina Burana I thought we were heading for some climate change infomercial.
All the true lieberals will vote for ‘bob the knob-gobbler’.
Phil,
Trying to tell themselves how smart they are.
Their most successful leader in recent times was the least intellectual, Mr Chretien.
But this video is really funny. I want to believe it is really a disenchanted Liberal supporter, my spidey sense says otherwise. Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the humour though.
Could it be, the Iggy Libs’ “jump” in the media’s polls was just a contrived media event?? Raw polling data. Florida Ocean front. Have you ever seen either?
Erik, “the video professor” (my observance) has nothing to say unless it’s about him, his name in print somewhere or taking an extremely weak and conjured story to pin on “reformatories”. He keeps it spiced up though with libelous attacks, a regular feature. Never anything said about how the Libs or Iggy would be better, do differently and why. Never a clue.
What’s the Liberal obsession with choosing academic leaders?
My guess is that most liberals never matured beyond the university mentality and have never completely matured into a responsible adult. Eternal adolescence is just groovy – you have learned all the answers to life’s problems but can continue to expect others to to work and pay for your proposed solutions.
I wonder if Kinsella will post the video on his site. Or th new poll. Being iggy’s baghdad bob of the blogosphere must be a drag at times.
Another Hackademic who is too old, too communist and too eager.
I’ll stick with the pretend conservative we have now.

A) Most definitely
B) Never
C) Yup, but to go along with (B) and (C), I do have some nice ocean front property in Edmonton for you,as soon as the big one hit Queerafornia.
I know it’s beating a dead horse, and completely agree that Harper is a lib-lite… currently. This is a minority gov’t after all, he has to attempt to play ball a little bit or we get coup-scam’d into much farther left leaning whacko’s driving in carbon taxation and other similarly retarded lefty social engineering projects.
That being said, I would hope Harper actually grows some conservative principles, ie. on this EI crap, if he intends to actually maintain a voting base outside of Ontario.
Oh wait… Canada’s “politicians” only care about Ontario and Quebec… my mistake.
“The Conservatives now command 39% in support among decided voters, compared with 28% for the Liberals, according to the survey, conducted exclusively for Canwest News Service and Global National by Ipsos Reid.”
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
Oh wait… Canada’s “politicians” only care about Ontario and Quebec… my mistake.
Try Qu-Ons for short. Sorta like Klingons or Will-nots. It has an extra-terrestrial sound to it because you’ve got to know that they’re from somwhere “not of this world”.
sounder – I still wish I could claim that moniker as my own invention. Brilliant.
Any success the Tories enjoy now relates to the fact that in the past few months Harper and the goofballs at CPC headquarters have stopped the juvenile antics and stuck to governing the country.
That, as well as the fact that Iggy is an empty suit.
As long as Canadians see that Harper is acting like a prime-minister, and assuming there’s no corruption fiasco or political storm, an election is his to lose.
If only he hadn’t pulled that retarded $1.95 stunt in the fall, which required all the bridge burning in Quebec and mobilized the opposition as never before, we truly would be looking at majority possibilities this year.
“Ignatieff has been criticized for not being visible enough”
Well, he’s pretty skinny, perhaps one of those blaze orange safety vests would help.
His real problem will be when people get to know him, not unlike obozo to the south.
I seem to remember a lot of liberal punditry about how obozo’s victory would create enthusiasm for the liberals, although I never saw how. And now they both seem to be sinking together.
Erik, oops!. I made my comment confusing. I meant I was stating my observance on the video professor, not that “video professor” was my observance. Who ever did though, I agree, was brilliant! How fitting that! I wonder, does anyone know who came up with that?
I still have not seen anybody dispute the statements by Ignatieff that he “grew up” in Canada.
He left Canada when he was 6 WEEKS old.
He did not return until sent to private boarding school at 12 years old.
Does it seem dishonest to pretend you “grew up” in a country that you had nothing at all to do with except as a place for your mother to give birth.
Anyways, my personal buga boo about this deliberate “fudge” of the Ignatierff facts.
sounder – got it – maybe I can still claim it as my own then. That being said, it seemed a year ago or more that the NDP was getting a lot of screen time, and Layton was feeling pretty good about things. The media seems to have dropped him like a hot potato lately.
old lori – agree about the vote thing – that’s something you do with a majority government. It was an unnecessary poke in the eye.
Iggys roommate turns on him.?
if you cant trust your former dipper friend who can you trust when your on a priority book tour.
cant find the CBCpravda headline with the latest polls , can anyone else.
“cant find the CBCpravda headline with the latest polls , can anyone else.”
It will be there before the end of the day no doubt. And if it’s not a recent (weighted) poll they will dredge up an old one. There should be some numbers just lying around somewhere. Lying?, oh my mistake!
CRB
They dug up this poll, which says the government isn’t doing enough for the environment. That’s pretty close, isn’t it….:^))

What kind of leader do we have in Iggy!
One that lags behind at 27% in the pop. polls
From the National Post article: “The poll comes amid speculation that the government could fall shortly after Parliament returns from summer break on Sept. 14.”
WHAT SPECULATION? WHOSE SPECULATION?
The “speculation” that the Liberal$ would bring down the Conservative Government has all been media-driven.
I love it that the death-to-the-CPC journalists are going to have to eat some humble pie, now that this latest poll is out — and the icing on the cake is the NDP, the Not Democratic Party, polling at 14%. Delicious. (Given that my husband spent about 20 minutes on the phone doing an Ipsos Reid poll a few nights ago — I’m assuming, this poll — I guess I can give him some kudos for the results.)
As for Baby Point Socialist (yeah, right, sure), Bob Rae, what else would you expect? I rather suspect that the game plan on the part of Rae and his backroom bagmen at Power Corp has always been to put him in the driver’s seat of the Liberal Van. If he climbs aboard as the Librano Chauffeur, he’ll look like he’s doing them all a favour, rather than looking like the usurping power monger he would have come across as if he’d run to beat Ignatieff in the last go-round.
With the Librano$, it’s all smoke and mirrors, all image, all of the time.
Those guys at Power Corp. do a pretty bang up job. Unfortunately, Chairman Mo has to use Chinese production companies so he hasn’t been able to do anything yet on this front.
best news I’ve heard all summer, even including our brilliant summer weather in BC this year
I just asked this question under Readers Tips
Anyone catch the Global National, CTV National or CBC National News on Sunday Nite to see if they reported on this Recent Ipsos Reid Poll
Of course we all know that If this were Ignatieff & the Liberals that pulled into a 39% lead This would be the news of the week with related stories as to Harper’s Demise Etc…….
Those Polls are coming out Fast & Furious since the Ipsos Reid 39% tory.
The Globe & Mail & National NewsWatch have just posted a new poll from Harris-Decima saying the Tories & Liberals are in a deadheat.
32% liberal
31% conservative
16% ndp
11% grn
9% bq
How Harper and Michael Ignitiff may need to know about new election for prime minster
to do not repeat the same mistake
one month to say thier opinion
one month to debate their differences
one month to people understand thier views and analyse it
one month for election
make sure election can be sourte new way of not fraud and/or not one person vote two to three times and one group do not vote for thier future
easy may send peopel to door to door for vote and have computre to vote this matter or have one fingure print to make sure the smae person do not vote two time in each place.and PM in power do not used abuse power to force or add more using unfairly toweard party peopel choice is important.
after vot is finish one month of transcation nobody should talk and aruge to made peopel united
in most election hate stay after one group was won and other is lost
cause for month of debate ugly
that period need call it united period then it is better to keep respect in this priod

I have started posting at the CBC so people that read there have a choice of opinion. When they had the parties even I remarked I feared for my daughter’s future when a party with no policy, no platform, no leader could do so well. I have totally given up on the G&M but the CBC is so blatant I can’t resist commenting on the basic errors they make.
I think posting on CBC is a good policy and I would urge all posters here to do the same. It drives the hard core lefties nuts, and if you have a valid argument you may change a few minds. After all we pay the freight on CBC. It belongs to all Canadians.
Not to complain too much, but…..
Could we please give Orff’s Carmina Burana a rest? It was impressive the first time I heard it. Now it is merely irritating.
Ugh I’m so So sick of partisan BS. A certain segment of the population will ALWAYS vote with the party they’ve always voted for without every really understanding what they stand for.
Wouldn’t it be fun to have a blind vote? Rather than mindlessly marking an X beside the same ol party they should take a quick test. It would be a short list of issues and the positions of the parties running for office. You pick which position best reflects your personal views. At the end it spews out which party you have voted for based on your beliefs and ideals. I bet it’ll surprise a LOT of people that the party they have mindlessly followed forever probably doesn’t stand for what you think it does.
Anyway… just might be interesting…
Next time vote for Bob! Roflmao. As inept as he has proven to be, Count Igula was and is the best of the available options for the Gliberals. Rolfmao, again.
Look … the LIbs are just trying to replicate what worked before… They think of PET (may he rot in hell) as an intellectual giant.
Only in their own minds was he anything other than disaster.
Chretien even they know what he was …… and are hoping to forget …. Martin …. go figure …hence grasping at the mythical philosopher king… with such charisma and power of intellect that they must be acknowledged as leader.
BTW – That vid is a great sendup….
This film remind me of last week
