August, 2009 – Some New Mexico auto dealers have backed out of the cash-for-clunkers program and more may do so as the federal government takes its time providing cash reimbursements. Dealers across the state are owed more than $3.6 million, according to a dealers’ group which says that so far Uncle Sam has only written three checks totaling about $14,000.

I wonder what those staff will do to make up their shortfall in income this year. Hope their memories of this year last until the next election.

Four or five hundred dealers in New York have also pulled out of the cash for clunkers gong show. Not getting paid and refuse to carry the debt any longer. Typical Obama shysterism.

Too bad the C4C program seems to have had all these problems. A really over the top car buying bubble could have really given patient buyers the whip hand once it ended and the hangover sales famine kicked in.
