Solving The Doctor Shortage

Is there nothing that Obama can’t do?

1) Are you the person who attended Jackson Lee’s town hall meeting?
2) Are you a doctor?
3) If not, why did you claim to be one?
4) Were you a Texas delegate for Obama?
5) Why did you go to the town hall meeting?
6) Who encouraged you to go?
7) Did Sheila Jackson Lee’s husband have anything to do with your going?
Thanks for your time.

(And how about that 5000% raise!)

  1. The sixth sin of the seven deadly sins is OBAMA
    Envy
    Main article: Envy
Like greed, Envy (Latin, invidia) may be characterized by an insatiable desire; they differ, however, for two main reasons. First, greed is largely associated with material goods, whereas envy may apply more generally. Second, those who commit the sin of envy resent that another person has something they perceive themselves as lacking, and wish the other person to be deprived of it. Dante defined this as “love of one’s own good perverted to a desire to deprive other men of theirs.” In Dante’s Purgatory, the punishment for the envious is to have their eyes sewn shut with wire because they have gained sinful pleasure from seeing others brought low. Aquinas described envy as “sorrow for another’s good”.[9]

  2. Yeah weird and stupid.
But you know what is like a billion times crazier? Bringing guns to townhalls.

  3. Loved one of the comments left regarding this story..said they were now referring to these Town Halls as ‘greenhouses’as they are full of ‘potted plants!’

  4. Sheesh. Obama’s the biggest liar and imbecile ever to live in the White House, as far as I’m concerned.
He’s making up B.S. on the fly to scare the crap out of people.
No wonder the majority of Americans don’t trust him.
    Ought to be nicknamed Pinnochiobama.

  5. But you know what is like a billion times crazier? Bringing guns to townhalls.
Yeah, that would be crazy, if you’re not in a state that has CWC permits and you aren’t licenced to carry.
But the guy you’re probably referring to was in a state that allowed it and did have a permit to carry.
What, Johnny, do you suppose, is the purpose of having a carry permit and a gun if you leave it at home?
    Now that would be crazy.
Don’t care for facts, eh Johnny?
Why is a Town Hall different than a diner?

Roxana Mayer is a part of the Democrat machine.
She isn’t just another concerned citizen.
She was an Obama delegate and a lead organizer for Organizing for America.
She lied about being a General Practioner to steal credibility and lend weight to Obama’s lie that his single payer health insurance takeover is supported by Doctors.
Too bad all the real Doctors we’ve seen at these Town Halls are against ObamaCare.

  6. John re gun. Crazy? Maybe. Unnecessary – definitely. Too provocative.
It distracts from the idiotic behaviour of Obama supporters, and lets them point and say “hey, forget about us, look at that guy over there”.
In the end though, Obama continues to get a free ride from the press. After all, during tough times, they need to stay in business, and they know what’s good for them.

  7. It just makes me sad. I mean, I really used to admire the US as a country.
Now it’s turning into a banana republic, and really, that’s not great for Canadians.

  8. Mississauga Matt @2:45 – “Obama’s (badly) impersonating a president.”
Yeah, someone (was it on this blog?) said that this is a case of the clothes having no Emperor.

  9. Well we know she isn’t a doctor and she is from out of state, so maybe she stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

  10. Oz,
If you think bringing a gun to town hall meetings, and carrying around a sign that references “killing tyrants”, then you are just as dangerously stupid as the carrier. It doesn’t matter that you CAN carry the gun. He could wear a dress and recite “Little Bo Peep” too, but that doesn’t mean he should.
    Erik,
Nope. You know who’s getting a free ride from the press? The teabaggers.
Whiners that they are, they think they should be allowed to scream and yell during these meetings, and complain that people are being critical of their right to free speech.
Here’s the deal… if they want to scream and yell and carry around giant puppets like the lefties do outside of these meetings, FINE. But once inside, they’re supposed to be about discussion. Not screaming “Traitor”.
The rightwing has lost it. Last time I checked… it wasn’t the left starting up armed militias in America. Another Oklahoma is gonna happen any time now, and the people to blame are the RW media giants like Limbaugh and Beck.

  11. The right wing has lost what, Johnny? Our entitlement to feed the left wing? No, ain’t gonna happen! You’ll ride into hell on our backs.

  12. John – You are a Kenyan (apparently you consider that a terrible insult, so I’ll leave it at that).
Yes, it does matter “that he CAN carry the gun”; why the f*(&ing f*%k wouldn’t that “matter”?!
“teabaggers” – you’re either naive or sleazy (as is you constitutional right here, ’till Kate says otherwise.)
As for the “Limbaugh and Beck” thing, it’s just beneath contempt. I might as well say: If somebody murders Sarah Palin, I’m blaming Keith Olbermann.

  13. Keith Olbermann has described Palin as “dangerously irresponsible”, which in fact she is for twisting the concept of creating living wills into “death panels”. That is a reasonable criticism of her unreasonable behavior.
Comparing Obama to Hitler, a megalomaniac who murdered millions doesn’t even come close. Especially since the rightwing is in a panic, buying guns an ammo, and we know for a fact that rightwing militias (the same sorts who are responsible for the worst incident of terrorism pre-911 in US history) are once again gearing up.
And clearly explaining to you why carrying a gun to a town hall is lost on you. You don’t see how carrying a weapon to a conversation is immediately confrontational, and damaging to creating understanding?
Clearly it shows that you view the people there as dangerous enemies, as oppose to your fellow citizens. That is nothing short of f*cked up, and can lead no where good.
And you don’t even see how calling somebody a Kenyan, solely to try and point out that they are not like other Americans is in fact insulting. Dangerously stupid.

  14. The right has lost it?
Speaking of losing things, obozo’s popularity is now 47 per cent, just thirteen points ahead of Bush when he left after eight years of media assault. And prez empty suit got there in a matter of months.
Isn’t it hilarious to watch the reaction of the left after a few conservatives do the protest thing? We’ve watched endless years of lefty protests, from saving the whales to saving a convicted cop killer, but they’re outraged when somebody else rises up with some righteous anger.
It’s fear, plain and simple. And they’re right to feel that way, not because of any imagined threat of violence, but because when conservatives are angry enough to protest it actually means something.

  15. The guy with the gun was not at the town hall meeting. He was a block away standing in the parking lot of a church. The only reason he was featured for a tirade is the meeting was full of bussed in bambamites like the kid plant. He wouldn’t have got in the meeting with a gun, he would not have got in the meeting with the sign, he would not have got in the meeting without a bus. One congress Demawhat said you need photo ID to get in a townhall meeting but not to vote. Another makes journalists sign in. Smoke, mirrors, lies. He should have had a nightstick cuz that is okey dokey. Intimidation is a Demowhat right.

  16. No. The right is welcome to protest. This isn’t about that. It’s about screaming during debates, rather than talking.
It was only a few months ago when rightwing harpie, Michelle Malkin rightfully was critical of University students for disrupting debates. But now that the teabagers are doing it enmass, during very serious, high-level debates with elected representatives… nuthin.
This is not an “imagined” threat of violence. People are bringing guns to these events. The militias are on the rise, and they have struck before with devastating results.
Bottom line. Bringing guns to debates is nuts. This is not a far left opinion. It’s called being a centrist. To think otherwise is dangerous, left or right.

I don’t care who said that or where it came from. Consider it stolen!
The perfect discription of the Owe.

  18. John – In a State where Conceal and Carry freedoms are in force – as they ought to be in all states, and Canada too, but I dream on – there is no problem with someone taking a gun to a town hall meeting. Obviously you’re referring to a specific case which I haven’t come across yet. Don’t care. The principle applies.
Parsing whatever Olbermann said about Palin is beside the point. I happen to think that Beck’s criticisms of Obama are “reasonable”. You don’t. Fine. So what?
As for “Kenyan” – give it up. I never called him that; I think he’s rootless, certainly not an African, not even really American. But if someone called him a Kenyan, well, I’d just put that down to the rough-and-tumble of political discourse in a real democracy. George W. Bush got called “the Texan” a lot, so as to imply that he was a violent hillbilly. If someone wants to suggest that Obama is a leftist of no particular American sympathies, that’s their prerogative. The same would apply if his dad had been a certain type of Kraut and people called him “The German” (and no, that’s not a Hitler reference).
Remember that Obama’s the one who insists on the importance of race, when it suits him.

  19. John, well, I agree that when people scream and shout in a town hall meeting it doesn’t really help anything (other than ensuring that it will get them on the news).
Does it mean that people are extraordinarily frustrated? Probably. Should they control their anger? Yes, and through measured comments they should be able to articulate their concerns and hopefully be heard. (It seems to me that some people here should try more measured responses as well.)
This again gets back to my worries about the US. It used to be a great society for civilized debate. What we’re seeing now reminds me of third world style governance.
But when I compare the reaction of the media to “the left prostesting Bush”, to “the right protesting Obama”, I stand by my “Obama getting a free ride by the press” statement.

  20. Sorry guy. Doesn’t matter that it’s legal. It’s hostile and undemocratic, not to mention dangerous to bring a loaded gun to a heated debate, and wear it on your thigh. It does nothing to forward rational conversation.
You don’t know this, because you are a member of the far, far right.
Rational conservatives, centrists, and nobody but the most radical of the leftist fringe would even dream of doing something like this, or defending it for that matter.
Cripes, they’re suppose to be taking about helping out sick and injured people, not putting them in the hospital in the first place.

  21. Ignore it Mamba.
John is obviously just another in a long line that would be much happier if our brethern to the south just ignored that inconvienent Constitution.
I mean come on! It was written by a bunch of white guys, some of whom (GASP) were slave owners. Really should not have to abide by such a document. Except of course for the two or three little parts they agree with.

  22. You see John reasoned debate is supposed to take place in Congress and the the Senate. When reasoned debate is banned from Congress and the Senate yelling takes place at town hall meetings.
Glad to be able to clear that up for you John.

  23. Joe,
So again… the right will scream bloody murder when a bunch of silly young pups at a university do something stupid like shout somebody off of a stage, but the second the rightwing does it enmass to elected representatives in an open forum, it’s okay.
    Gotcha.
And it’s okay to bring guns to debates. Again… gotcha. That’s perfectly rational behavior.
Just curious… but can anybody spot any guns in this painting?
    http://www.learnnc.org/lp/media/uploads/2007/09/declaration_of_independence_1.jpg

  24. Not a single gun in that picture John.
They were all being used to ensure that said declaration would have a future.

  25. Yes of course …. another among what will be many more instances of liberal democrat supporters providing cover for their demagog’s propaganda machine…. what’s that called?
    Oh yeah … astroturfing.
Meanwhile …. back in the blog world .. their fellow travelers attempt to change the subject.
    Perfect.
First requirement of being a post modern liberal … absolutely no ability to learn.

  26. No Atlantic Jim. They didn’t bring their effing guns to the signing because they knew that there was a time and place for guns and rational discourse was not it. Period.
Re no cameras… stupid move on his part. Let Americans see how the right behaves at a debate. It’s the best way to combat the stupidity.

  27. John you do have a hangup with guns don’t you. Is it a form of pen^^ envy? So what if some guy stood across the street with a pistol on his hip! It was in no way illegal or immoral. Had he pulled the gun and shot someone then he should be punished for his crime but to simply have a gun on your person is no different than carrying a pocket knife. It could be argued that the pocket knife was the worse infraction because it was a ‘concealed’ weapon. The holstered pistol was not concealed.
I’ve only seen clips of these town halls but what I seen seems quite reasonable. The lefty gets to say his piece and is then booed off the stage.
If you notice the difference where usually the righty never even gets to the stage because the lefties won’t let him.
Now don’t you have more important things to do like play in the traffic?

  28. Truthfully Joe, I don’t own a gun. But I probably will someday. They’re fun to shoot, and I can see the befefits.
But bringing a gun to a town hall attended by the president of the United States is never acceptable. Especially considering the number who’ve been shot, and the fact that the current president is on track for the most death threats of any president ever.
Everyone except the extreme rightwing seems to recognize that it’s inherently hostile to bring a weapon designed solely for the purpose of killing people, to a debate. It’s crazy that this has to be pointed out.
Arguing this is like arguing that you shouldn’t sh!t your pants in a crowded theatre.

  29. John, please stop lying. He didn’t go to the debate!!!!!
He stood with a sign in his hand in a parking lot across the road. What part of that do you find so hard to understand?
It is legal to hold a sign and it is legal to carry a gun. Full Stop. Why should the rules suddenly and arbitrarily change simply because the POTUS happens to be in town?

  30. John if you can hit someone specific with a handgun from a block away you could make a better living than you probably do. It is not the guy with the gun in plain sight you have to worry about. The reason the townhalls are rowdy (ok the un-bussed ones anyway) is because they do not friggin’ listen to the majority of people that realize bambam had no plan, has no plan and is letting the donkeys make laws.

  31. Joe, as you can see, I acknowledged that this particular goon stood outside. Which is still not productive. It suggests that he expects violence from his fellow citizens, and in the increasingly hostile tone of these events… attending with a gun is courting disaster.
But as I also pointed out… this was not an isolated incident. Another dingleberry brought a gun to a debate AND DROPPED IT. Yeah… nothing dangerous there.
Here’s ultra-lefty David Effing Frum on the subject:
    http://www.theweek.com/bullpen/column/99474/The_reckless_Right_courts_violence

  32. Guy stands with a sign and he is a goon? What do you call the union arseholes? Patriots?

  33. Well…so far jonny and the gun story are front and center, and this post is way off topic.
    Summary:
-Congresswomen Lee requested that certain people ‘sign in’ to a public forum. This is enforced by police.
-One of her Obambots lies by stating she has practiced family medicine for years, and goes on to praise Obamacare.(she is not a doctor)The lazy media perpetuate the lie.Factchecking is so yesteryear.
-Congresswoman Lee rudely talks on her cell phone while a very polite citizen is doing a presentation, directing comments to the congresswoman.
    Any thoughts on that John?
Oh and no surprise, Fox seems to be the only media covering this insult to Americans, except for the networks that feel obliged to paint this as a racial problem.(CTV did that last evening)
I am very worried for Americans today.

  34. No Speedy my friend. Signs are fine. The GUN is the problem. Based on EVERYTHING I’ve said so far, I thought that was self evident.
Bluetech… go back to the very beginning of this conversation. See what I said about what she did? “weird and stupid” I said.
I’m willing to call people on the left for pulling stupid bullsh!t, unlike pretty much everyone here who seems to think it’s perfectly okay to bring guns to meetings.
You know what my conversations here remind me of?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1fKzw05Q5A

  35. “I don’t care who said that or where it came from. Consider it stolen”
It was a commenter on JustOneMinute. The blogger said he is an empty suit, the reverse of the emperor with no clothes.. The rest is history.

  36. It suggests that he expects violence from his fellow citizens
It does? How do you infer that? He might be coming from the pistol range. He might well carry the gun in the same way that some people wear ties. I don’t even know if this was a real pistol.
BTW how do you reach the conclusion that everyone carrying a pistol is ‘right wing’? At the town halls I’ve seen those most bent on committing violence were those on the left side of the spectrum.
