We’re still on the road, killing a day off half way through this soggy trip through Idaho and Montana. We’ve had lots of success in the ring, picking up 4 majors and 6 reserves with the crew I have in the truck, including a big Best of Breed win from the Bred-by class for my young female, Can.Ch.Minuteman Madrid yesterday in Blackfoot, ID. Three more points and she’s finished her title.
If you have never had the opportunity to drive the various highways in this region of the world, you owe it to yourself to do it some day. Great Falls, Missoula, Helena, Butte, Bozeman, Yellowstone, Missoula – you cannot truly appreciate the landscape here without experiencing it in person.
Thanks to the guest bloggers, once again, for picking up the slack around here. I’ll be back in around a week.

Couldn’t agree with you more Kate. The drive west from Minot N.D. through Montana, across Yellowstone, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Salt Lake, Vegas, L.A., etc. has to be one of the most spectacular on the continent. We’ve done it several times and I think about it every day. Not to mention some of the best people that you could ever meet. Congratulations on the wins.

Done that bit twice as a university student going back and forth from BC to ON for the summer. Each time in a 1974 Volvo wagon and that was in 1997. Hotter than hell through there in August and no air, of course.

I just have to tell you Kate you’re just wonderful, the landscape is beautiful and your dogs have longer names than Paris Hilton’s legs.
Congrats Kate! We travel that route (for the most part) from Calgary. Billings to Plentywood is very interesting as well, lots to see unless you’ve been in the mountains all your life. The people are some of the friendliest I have met anywhere.

Do they have plug-ins for our green electric cars in Montana?
It is an amazing world out there and everytime I travel I see more things of interest. Speaking as a photographer, if you look for it, almost everywhere has something of interest, even Saskatchewan (grin).
It makes picking out a spot to put my feet up and retire all the more difficult. That’s probably why I’m leaning towards a sailboat now, but until then it is back to the salt mine.
Kate is right. Montana and Yellowstone is beautiful country. I believe it is called God’s Country.

Waterton Park to Glacier Park, Going to the Sun Highway, only open from May to Sept. The most incredible drive I have ever been on.

We did a great trip to Big Van, Victoria, ferry to Port Angeles, Seattle, Spokane and back thru to Montana and home.
Ya, twisty, turny, uppy, downy mountain roads in a road grabbing sports car.
Oh the joy of it all.
And yes, the landscape was good too. heh
