  1. What bugs me is when I watch Jeopardy now, I’m forced to watch all the commercials touting the rest of CBC’s lineup. And I find their claim to being “Canada’s most watched news program” to be ludicrous, as the list of top 30 programs always has CTV national news on it, while the Mansbridge snorefest is conspicuously absent.
    Oh, and since Jeopardy was purchased by the CBC in an attempt to sell more commercials, shouldn’t they actually sell commercials, instead of touting their own garbage?

  2. I watch the Fox News Channel on expressvu, mostly for O’Reilly. It’s getting hard to watch with both Bell and the CBC whoring themselves on an American channel.

    I reckon the CBC should have socialists and homosexuals on staff in proportion to the population at large.

    To see the daylight rise as the CBC dies almost brings tears to these old eye’s.
    What a cool article by Gunter. He was in the Zone on that one in my opinion. Its like taking out the garbage though. We all know we have to do it, its just mustering up the energy to finally put to rest this old dog of a liberal propaganda machine.

The National Post’s first installment on Saturday of their week-long look at the CBC was a disappointment, because the viewpoints expressed by the two columnists managed to completely avoid the salient point about the CBC — that their inexcusable and blatant political bias that has turned The National in particular into a blatant, active, inexcusable anti-Conservative campaign funded by taxpayers to the tune of thousands of millions of dollars.
    Thank heavens for Lorne Gunther — he knows what time it is, and he always delivers the straight goods in undiluted form, whether it be on global warming or the CBC, and he never bows a half an inch to political correctness.
    Hopefully there’ll be other columns in the NP series that call a spade a spade and stop pretending that the CBC represents “quality journalism.” When a network is a shill for one particular party, and blatantly biased, that’s fraudulent journalism.

  9. Some fool had a letter to the editor of the Globe and Mail published on Monday in which he claimed that the CBC’s presence “protects our democracy”.
    Au contraire: its bias hurts democracy. If the right has to pay for its own arguments and also subsidize the arguments of the left, that’s an unfair fight.
    Any time you have to pay to support a person expressing a viewpoint you disagree with, you are being censored, because you are unable to use those resources to support a viewpoint that you agree with. Without economic freedom there can be no political freedom.
    Note that the left continually claims the opposite. When government-funded “activist groups” have their funds cut, the left screams “censorship”. But in reality, it’s the other way around: the censorship of those who don’t agree with those groups is being reduced somewhat.

    It’s already been mentioned and we’re no doubt feeding the troll, but Uli, like all socialists, believes the money you earn really belongs to ‘the people’ via government.
    So if they give some of it back to you via a ‘tax deductable’ donation it is de facto, a subsidy because it wasn’t yours to begin with.
