Yes, a couple of years back, we in Kelowna were on the golf driving ranges at this time of year, anticipating the days ahead when the Courses would open.
The ice was gone in the Valley bottom lakes by March, most years, this year the ice fishing season has lasted longer than anyone can remember, over three months, versus the usual five or six weeks.
And last night we had another dump of snow.

The earth has yearly cycles, so it just makes sense that there also must be macrocycles that could be perceived as a “warming trend” or a “cooling trend”. But probably very little of either has to do with us bipeds doing things on the surface of the earth.
Hey, maybe the economic crisis, with resultant slowdown, has solved the warming crisis.

The sickest commercials on TV are those with Suzuki hiding in a tree house, in the dark with a bunch of kids whispering that their parents are trying to destroy the earth and dont care about saving the planet but he is their friend and saviour…looks too kinky for me…and then there is the ones where he is stealing the guys fridge and light bulbs…I think that is called break and enter and theft…for anyone else. I can’t get to the off button fast enough. It’s pretty bad when you have to break into people’s houses and skulk around like a dope pusher befriending kids to get your message across. Do you really need a PHD for that…!!??
I’m getting a bit tired of being snowed in this winter (southern interior of BC). It snowed again last night and at least it is sunny out which makes shovelling the driveway a bit more tolerable. I haven’t been able to drive to Vancouver for months because every time I think about going the Coquihalla is closed due to snow. Got an email from a friend of mine in Montreal today and she was complaining about the -17 C temperatures. When one looks at all of the weather events in N. America this winter it is a real stretch to call them isolated weather events and I think that we’re dealing with a significant alteration in climate.
Now I have to write a rather nasty letter to Gordon Campbell as he’s raking in carbon taxes on natural gas and my heating bills have been a lot higher this winter than last. My yard is still snow covered in fairly deep snow and I’ve been told by some of my older patients who have lived here forever that one has to go back 40 years or more to find a winter that was this bad. It’s time to start a class action lawsuit against the BC government who has bought into the global warming scam.
Also probably time to take out my frustrations on the driveway.

Nobody attributed warm weather in February to global warming.. it was just “weather” and believe me we were thankful for a little warmth in the middle of winter.

We’re going to have a little global warming later this week. We’ve been praying for it given the extended arctic blasts we’ve been experiencing. I had the pleasure of spending the night at a Detroit airport on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago, thanks to those blasts no thanks Al Gore you hereditary snake oil salesman. Thankfully I discovered a nice Weston in the nick of time. Our travel contractor just doesn’t share those little niceties with us.
