British soldiers are engaged in “a surreal mini civil war” with growing numbers of homegrown jihadists who have travelled to Afghanistan to support the Taliban, senior army officers have told The Independent.
Interceptions of Taliban communications have shown that British jihadists – some “speaking with West Midlands accents” – are active in Helmand and other parts of southern Afghanistan, according to briefing papers prepared by an official security agency.
Estimate: MI5 has estimated that up to 4,000 British Muslims had travelled to Pakistan and, before the fall of the Taliban, to Afghanistan for military training. The main concern until now has been about the parts some of them had played in terrorist plots in the UK. Now there are signs that they are mounting missions against British and Western targets abroad. “We are now involved in a kind of surreal mini-British civil war a few thousand miles away,” said an army officer.
Somalia is also becoming a destination for British Muslims of Somali extraction who have started fighting alongside Al Qaeda-backed forces.

If and when these Brits who have taken up arms against their country are captured, they MUST be charged and tried for treason. The same goes for Canadian citizens fighting against Canada and its allies. We cannot tolerate a fifth column in our midst.

I get so angry when I read articles like this. I was born in Britain and still have lots of immediate family there. When I think of my families sacrifices during the 2 Wars. Prison camps, frostbite, wounds, not to mention all the mental anguish of the families left behind. All that suffering by millions of people only to have the leftist government open the door to the Muslim hoards who will be much much worse than the Nazis if they ever get control. Christ, what a disgrace. I get the feeling it’s too late to do anything about it now. All we can hope is that we stop it from spreading to Canada.

That would indeed be a fine inexpensive and wishful solution to a huge problem. Unfortunately it sounds like most stay well out of harm’s way of real soldiers, only to educate themselves better with how to kill children and other innocents the coward’s way.
