Rally For Canada, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 in various cities across Canada. Click the link for details.
Ralph Goodale should also hear from you, preferably by phone. (306) 585-2202
As the single Liberal elected in this province, Goodale has participated in removing Saskatchewan’s 13 voices from the government side of the house, submitting our growing resource economy to the extortionist whims of Quebec and the Ontario trade unions – all for the sake of one last shot as his own comfy fur entitlement.
It doesn’t matter if he’s your MP, call his office and do some yelling.
Update – This is the fastest growing online petition I’ve ever seen. Our Right to Vote on the Coalition Government
Now, if someone would only start an “Our Right To Kick Ralph Goodale’s Ass All The Way To The Manitoba Border” petition.

I’m afraid I’m not finding the link–to which I’ve been many times and at which I have, I think, registered–vey helpful. I thought registering would provide me with more information at the site, but it hasn’t.
I’m not on Facebook or Tweeter or whatever it is, and I don’t seem to be getting the information I need to get to the rally, e.g., WHAT TIME?
Hey, I was just at the rally for Canada site and then you have it posted here, good work! Thanks for the link to Goodale, doubt that my email will do any good, as he has been in bed with these thieves since the beginning. After all, he is entitled to his entitlements too!
Dec the 6th is also the left’s annual “trash all white men for the sins of a few” day. Should be interesting keeping score…
I’m afraid none of this will matter.
Canada’s become ungovernable, with two distinct ideological “basins of attraction” which are also geographically based. Without re-jigging the structure of Confederation, the so-called “centre-left” (which is disproportionately represented by the Southern Ontario / Quebec axis) will always ultimately outvote the “centre-right” (located in most of the outlying regions, with significantly less population base). Thus “democracy” for one group will always be interpreted as “dictatorship” by the other.
It’s time Canadians recognized that there are two distinct political cultures in Canada, and allowed each to go their own separate way. Either culture lording it over the other will simply continue to breed resentment, as is happening right now. Since both cultures are largely geographically concentrated, this parting of the ways could actually be accomplished with relatively little pain.
But do you think we’ll do it? Nahhh.
We’ll continue to talk as if there’s one Canada, and each side will continue to accuse the other of being unCanadian and not interested in “the greater good” or “the will of the people.”
Which people? Which greater good? Those are the questions we continually refuse to face head-on. And we’re all going to be poorer for it, economically, politically and socially.

Todays ctv.ca poll
This is early & of course they would say this is Not a scientific poll.
But you know what i think it is reflecting What Canadians Want!
“Who would You prefer to run the Country?”
The Conservatives 299 73%
the NDP-Liberal Coalition 108 27%
*Note No Mention of the Bloq
It’s the numbers, always has been always will be unless the West Separates, that is the only choice. Does anyone honestly think the east will voluntarily give up power? They have shown what they will do to seize power, I think the West will have to show them what we will do to control our destiny. Any Westerner that would sooner live on his knees than die on his feet is no Westerner.
As General Patton said about the french, I would sooner face a German Division than trust a french one at my back.
A Canadian Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the Canadian, U.S., English, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, North Americans generally learn only English.’ He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking
French?’
Without hesitating, the Admiral replied ‘Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’
Now we have to speak french, take your frogois language and screw off.
Heck, if Goodale wants to ensure that no Liberal is elected west of Toronto for the next 50 years, who are we to stop him?
How about a petition to get Ralph recalled?
The media love him. You could have fifty voices on the government from Saskatchewan but the media will pick Ralphie to twist his ass on a media stool and rant on inanely against the government. He’s the only voice from Saskatchewan they want to hear, he’s their man on their team against all things Conservative.
Ralph is among the most annoying Opposition MPs in Parliament today. He’s in company with the likes of Scut Brison, Marlene Jennings and Mark Holland for top boor.
Rally for Canada indeed and in hordes. We have to take down the Three Stooges about to ruin and disgrace this country in the eyes of the world.
Do people really grasp what could happen with this pack of leeches salivating for power and our money? Instability is a certainty.
6 December is also the Feast of St. Nicholas.
Maybe we could all pray that he’ll bring us some grown-ups for Christmas to run the country…

Lines open for comments regarding the opposition take over. This will be a very lively call in as this is from a very well known Prince George host…..
I am sick of people on this blog painting all easterners with the same brush. I live in eastern Ontario and it is pretty solid Tory blue election after election. We have as much disdain for Toronto Liberals and those who toady to Quebec separatists as others in Canada do. In fact, federal blingualism policies, concocted to appease Quebec, adversely affect our lives in the Ottawa area more than in any other part of the country. So, please, stop assuming all Ontarians are in league with Toronto leftards.
I also need to know the time of the Saskatoon rally.
It is important to go. The most important reason is to make an impression on the GG. She must understand how divisive this coalition will be for Canada. This is more than just the coalition exploiting a technical loophole to gain power (as the MSM seems to think). It is a moment that will forever redefine the relationship between voters and politicians, Central Canada vs the West, democracy vs backroom deals, the role of the GG and the very legitimacy of our political system. Given the potential impact and the lack of clear precedent, the people must be the ones to decide on the legitimacy of the coalition. If they can win an election as a coalition then so be it. If they refuse to get a mandate from voters then even they are admitting their hold on power is tenuous.
It is not the time to allow a handful of people to decide on Canada’s future. It must go to the electorate. Voters must be the ones to decide who leads Canada. Better to spend 300M now than pay for generations of discord.

Has anyone seen a Poll by the media’s favourite Pollster Nick Nanos? I’m betting not, it would overwhelmingly be against this Troika from Hell and the media’s agenda to put down the Harper government.
the bear, I used your link, but I need to log on at the site. I’m no further ahead, it seems. But thanks.
JMD: so, what are you doing about it? We watched you clowns vote 100+ seats to keep the Chretien Liberals in power, for 13 years. Now you see his “behind the scenes” work today. Planning to do anything about it while the same loser party steals your vote??
Well, JT, if the Saturday rally on Parliament Hill goes ahead, I will be there. What are you going to do?
What clowns are you referring to? The riding I live in never voted for Chretien. Stop working so hard at being insulting.
JT – So 100% of “easterners” are against you and for this? You’re assuming a lot. Don’t be an a$$.
lookout, lynnh, et al.
Here’s a copy and paste of most of the information from the facebook page
“Canada’s democratically elected government is being overthrown by a unelected coalition of political parties only a month after new Federal Elections.
The reason? The Government, in a time of economic crisis, decided to end the system of political party subsidies, whereby Canadians pay $30 000 000 a year to political parties. All political parties would have suffered, but perhaps none as much as the party committed to destroying our country: the Bloc Quebecois. This was not a political measure; it was an effort to curb spending and overturn a law stealing Canadians’ money for politicians. Yet the Canadian opposition is willing to circumvent democracy to protect their own pocketbooks in a time of crisis. The kicker is that this coalition could only be sustained with the support of the separatist party itself, the Bloc Quebecois. This would mean that the government of Canada would be at the mercy of people committed to destroying our confederation. We ask that on Saturday, December 6, democracy-loving Canadians from coast to coast gather on street corners to support democracy, not political games in this time of crisis.
The theme of the protest is not pro-conservative, rather it’s pro-democracy. We believe the government should be serving the people’s needs, not politician greed. We believe that if the people of Canada truly wanted a coalition government with separatists involved, they would have voted for one.
For major Canadian cities, protests will be held at:
-Queen’s Park in Toronto: 12-2:00 PM
-Parliament Hill in Ottawa: between 12:00-2:00 pm
-Linda Duncan’s office in Edmonton (underway)
-Stephane Dion’s office in Montreal (tentative)
-Robson Square in Vancouver (underway)
-Calgary City Hall 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
-Saskatoon City Hall (underway)
-Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in Winnipeg (underway)
-Halifax: Province House 12 – 2 pm
-Kitchener: Victoria Park (underway)
-Victoria (underway)”
I’ll attend the Saskatoon rally if some actual times are put up.
A search on facebook also revealed that there will be rallys “for the coalition” on December 4th. Nice.
Strong support for both rallies sends the same powerful message to the GG – the voters are divided, the stakes are high, the situation is volatile and only an new election can clear the air and restore confidence in government.
Here’s my very radical suggestion for the Conservatives if this goes through. Boycott the House as long as this stands without an election.
CTV POLL Updated
Govern the Country ?
conservatives 3586 71%
NDP/Coalition 1441 29%
Since we have not seen anything from the Scientific Pollsters CTV needs to be adding this Poll to their brodcast Canadians are Speaking Out against this Alliance of the Socialist.
This so called coaliton is an absolute farce.
There is no way in God’s green earth that separatists have any right or buisness ruleing over canada.
Taliban Jack has shown himsself to be the traitor he is… again!
As for dion, when asked by ctv how he would have governed differently than PMSH …. the dumb little twit pretended he didn’t understand the question.
We don’t need a twit like this at canada’s helm!!
Looks more like the theives have had their fingers out of the cookie jar for so long they are now broke and need to steal sommore of our money…. at any cost.
Either the GG throws these thugs out on their ears… or bring on another election!!
Better yet, a march to ottawa and throw them out on their ears would be best!
13 “Voices”?
13 rather muted voices, when Stephen Harper broke his promise to Saskatchewan on equalization.
Oh, and ask for submitting the economy to extortionist whims, Stephen Harper is the one proposing a cap-and-trade system, after denouncing it in the election.
What do the 13 “voices” have to say about that?
Predictably, nothing.
I don’t like “rallies” myself, too Chavez for my taste. Plus there’s always cops with cameras at these things…
However, there is one thing that ain’t rallying today, and that my friends is the TSX. While the Dow is having a 150 point bounce today, the TSX is down again. It should be following the Dow, and it isn’t.
More even than yesterday, that is a direct put-your-money-where-your-mouth-is comment on the Two Scumbags and a Bloc Head Coalition.
GG take note, this ain’t going to be pretty no matter what. But if you install the Troika instead of calling an election, you’re going to go down in history in a really, really bad way. Possibly as the Woman Who Killed Canada, because that could really happen.
Not what you want on your tombstone I bet.
“not support games at this political time of crisis.”
Thank you PMSH for creating this game. PMSH you’re no more than a schoolyard bully and Kate you’re the one standing in the background egging him on.
Remember my post 2 weeks ago about political reactions being greater than the action that caused them. Well here you go this is a good example.
Thanks BB to the link to the Framework. This is nothing more the a hodgepodge of talking points that the left can agree on that have very little to do with economic stimulus including universal child care, funding cuts to the arts, Cap and trade (this will actually kill the economy…), immigration reform…. the list is basically the entire document.
Just a quick question to the coaltition. Oil prices have fallen by over 50% in less the 6 months yet there is nothing in your stimulus package to help the oil and gas industry (aka Canada’s economic engine). How are you going to make sure Canada’s economic engine is well oiled (pun intended)?
http://www.nikonthenumbers.com/topics/show/115
Nanos has his take on things *before* he does polling, it seems.
I have been trying to think of what Harper should do, fold tents, fight nasty, martial law (kidding)…or some other option.
The problem is one of legitimacy, this is the underlying question and Harper needs to make it explicit. The opposition has doubled down by counting on the GG to agree, since they clearly dont want an election. If they thought an election was seriously a possibility they wouldnt have done it.
Procedurally, the GG gets to exercise her judgement in this case by either accepting or rejecting the PM’s advice once he loses a vote of confidence. PM nees to make it explicit that the opposition has put the GG in a position that she shouldnt want to be in, potentially substitutiong HER Judgement for the people’s. Harper should force the choice by calling the situation as it is.
1) His advice to the GG is an election, since he has lost a vote (when it happens) and the Opposition claims circumstances have changed sufficiently since the election to warrant a change of government.
2) That this coalition was specifically rejected by all three parties in the recent election and this means the Canadian people were making a different judgement
3) That the safest position to maintain the legitimacy of the office of GG is to seek the counsel of the Canadian people through normal means, an election
4) That he agrees that if the result is not a conservative majority that her first call can be to whatever coaltion emerges, assuming there is one
5) That he believes a majority conservative government will be the result.
Canadians now have a clear choice that will be respected by all, avoids the GG getting involved in “choosing” and pre states his advice should he not win a majority.
This is a double down strategy, but so it the oppositions. He wraps himself in democracy, consistent with his beliefs, no longer hides the desire for a majority. But he needs to get his budget tabled first to really make this work.
It makes the choice clear, offers the GG a way out (which she absolutely requires) and puts the oppsotion totally on the defensive. They then have to decide if they are a “gang” (all one party) or a “club” (a coalition).
Risk, if it pushed the opposition totally together and a two party stand off then you risk a 70- 30 or 60 40 loss…but that settles the question though. I think the risk of that is low and cons would do better than their 40% if was a two party fight. I think they would be well on their way to majority in a multiparty fight.
Frame the question, pre state your advice and your reaction so you are transparent and offer the GG a life line. It is very difficult for her to turn down an election, especially when a resolution is promised at the end of the process.
Come on Stephen, call the bluff, wrap yourself in the flag…you now have nothing to lose. And if the GG chooses otherwise, you can’t say you didnt offer her a way out, and you can BLAST away with impunity, I get a feeling the Cons will adopt a Republican platform if the GG refuses his offer.
Just called Ralph’s offiece to express my concerns and do you know what the woman on the phone said to me “You voted Conservative didn’t you” I couldn’t believe it.
bygeorge…. I have a picture of Gilles being chased by an angry mob all the way back to Montreal. The Fathers of Confederation would smile from somewhere about it.
Re: Nanos:
I was called yesterday by Strategic Research.
The questions were very frustrating.
not stirred: you represent those who would rather have PMSH sit like a lame duck, as tho the Libs and NDP and media had him by the gonads.
News for you: he isn’t that kind of PM…he’s a leader. The economic update presented by Flaherty was good for Canada. The pigs couldn’t get to the trough and they are having their hissy fit.
That stirs you?
The Calgary rally goes in front of city hall beginning at 11 a.m., Sat Dec 6
Lots of “people room” as this fronts on Olympic Square and the transit has an LRT stop right there.
Let’s seem how many AB flags show up and perhaps even Canadian flags being flown upside down to reflect the utter disgust at what is happening in Ottawa right now. The latter would be a rather sad happening but what is going on in Ottawa these days is totally unacceptable and cannot go unchallenged.
Not nearly enough people are plugged into the Blogs, so let’s see what the MSM does to have the public become aware that these rallies are taking place. CHQR(Calgary)has already picked it up – Tues at 7:30.

Just a couple of thoughts about where we’re at:
-if the three get in look for them sometime before their end of session to increase the per-vote subsidy
-to everyone here, including the MSM pundits that regularly visit, Harper did not make a mistake, he did not blunder, he was faced with another two years of minority/appeasement rule and you cannot govern a country during an economic crisis with that anchor around your neck. He knew better than anyone that the rumours about a coalition had more truth to them than fiction, so without the majority he hoped for he tested the opposition at his first opportunity. They failed, no one within the triumverate circle has a clue of what to due in an economic crisis, Dion and Iggy university professors never worked a day in their lives, Rae and Layton both out and out socialists that only survive on other peoples money and Duceppe, well what can I say about Duceppe that wasn’t covered by the other four. No Harper did not make a mistake. He has opened up a door for himself by letting these three clowns try to take control. If the GG grants them the power then Harper sits back and watches while the country suffers, whether they make it through the next two years or split before next summer then he’ll come back with a conservative hold on power for the next twenty. End of Liberals, end of Toronto, Montreal, Power base, end of seperatist threat.
And to all the trolls and leftoids that are gloating right now, if your three clowns take control remember the Chretien buck ($0.72) well its going to look pretty rich when the Loonie goes to – ready for this you heard it first here – ($0.65) and don’t look below the border for the Saviour to save your ass because he’s a socialist like you and you can bet your life savings that he’s going to renegotiate NAFTA (can you imagine these three petty crooks trying to negotiate with the Chicago mob, they could make a series out of it for CBC) and there won’t be a manufacturing job left in Upper Canada.
All in all be careful of what you wish for and if you’re planning a vacation this winter get the money converted now and pay cash because by next spring the Canadian buck could be worth toilet paper.
bluetech,
I think you might be misinterpreting my comments. I merely said that PMSH is bullying and Kate is behaving like an accomplice. That doesn’t change the fact, ‘the would be coalition’ is essentially a coalition of fools. I’m a liberal but no supporter of Dion and have no use whatsoever for Layton or the Bloc.
PMSH’s strategy is to punish and embarrass then win a majority. That’s a strategy that only appeals to rabid conservatives not Canadians at large.
The bottomline is that PMSH is behaving badly and the coalition of fools is behaving far worse.
How soon we forget the absolute seething disrespect Chretien had for all Canadians and the bare knunckle street bullying he took out on everybody….all the while feathering his and his friend’s at PowerCorp’s own nest with Communist China and putting a “made” mafia guy, Alphonso, in charge of billions of dollars of your money in public works – where the corruption ran deep.
Can we NEVER get rid of these people? If Harper trying to play hardball against the Liberal monsters is “bullying” oh poor me that’s not fair HOW do we ever get our country back to its principals and fairness to all?
How????
Either we have an election, or a referendum with the question being “Are you in favour of a coalition government, consisting of the Liberal, NDP, and Bloc Quebecois parties?”
Either we have an election, or a referendum with the question being “Are you in favour of a coalition government, consisting of the Liberal, NDP, and Bloc Quebecois parties?”

How???
It’s quite easy Marie. PMSH should beat them on the ground and beat them in the air. But always take the high road. That way he will earn the respect and vote of all Canadians.
My husband phoned Mr. Goodale’s office this morning and the lady hung up on him when he suggested that the 60% vote wasn’t enough for farmers to win dual marketing, but somehow now it was enough for this coalition. So he phoned back and told her not to hand up on him again as we are paying her and Ralph’s wages. She just argued with him and so he told her to have Ralph phone him. What do you think the chances are we ever hear from him?
Stephen at 10:51. Hear, hear.
Legitimacy of the Office of GG is at stake. GG should realize that BQ has no support outside PQ, that in last election they were told explicitly by SD that they did not need to consider coalition with BQ as a possibility. That was clearly a LIE.
Therefore, in the name of democracy, GG needs to take the matter back to the population, with the option of coalition with BQ on the table for Canadians outside PQ to contemplate.
GG taking a path other than general election is essentially declaring to the ROC that we are to be governed by BQ, and therefore, Canada = PQ. At least now it would be clear (this would be Dion’s Great Act Of Clarity – how ironic) – Canada is effectively run by Quebec, has been since Confederation, and we might as well face that grim reality.
I’ve had enough of marching to Quebec’s tune. I would rather form political union with our southern neighbors than endure Quebec’s leverage another day. I’ve lived in the States for a good spell, and it’s obvious now that it was a bad decision on my part to return to Canada to start a business.
Toronto liberals that don’t want to cowtow to Quebec should consider the jubilation available at the prospect of being governed by Obama, who can do no wrong.
The story, if true, that Harper had similar talks with the Bloc circa 2004 indicates the proper decision that should be made in these circumstances. They didn’t do it. Supporters of this nonsense have only to ask themselves, what would I be saying if the roles were reversed? I rest my case.
