  1. I don’t get it. How is this interview, which seems to have been done in the late 1970s or early 1980s well before the fall of the Soviet Union, relevant to Obama?

  2. Playbook in phases:
    1. Demoralization
    2. Destabilization
    3. Crisis
    4. Normalization
I suspect that Bezmenov would say the the West is currently in phase 3 on an international scale. Obama would executing phase 1/ phase 2 on a national level.

  3. JMD: You obviously haven’t been listening to Obama’s speeches. Also, you’re not the only one or he wouldn’t be ahead in the polls. Welfare state and share the wealth must ring a bell to anyone paying any attention, and egocentric and self-important should also tell you the kind of leader he is warning the U.S. about. Obama isn’t just going to turn the U.S. around, his aim is the world. Now that’s egocentricity as its scariest.

  4. Screw the middle class. They’re a bunch of lefty elites with educations. Protect the wealthy…they need it.

  5. I think the demoralization campaign has progressed nicely for years – we spend all of our time apologizing for things that happened many years ago that did not involve us – and also that we can’t fully understand in our current historical context.

  6. Nobody here should ever fall into the trap of having others define their misery.
My late mom used to tell a story about the New Deal.
When FDR send out his ‘share the wealth’ agents during the Great Depression, they would seek out people and tell them they were poor.
‘No, we’re not,” was often the reply.
That was a time when human beings understood that real wealth is not about material possessions.

  7. Maybe an example– Joe the plumber wants to buy a buisness- Obama tells him he is going to spread the wealth- Joe the plumber doesn’t think its fair to over tax him for trying to be successfull-
MSM (Obamaites all)go about destroying Joe the plumbers reputation.– Obama leftist are all jumping to defend leftist view. Why shoud Joe the plumber try to be successfull when he gets s–t and abuse for trying and taxed to the hilt for succeeding?

  8. if you think things are bad now, just try to imagine the far-left in charge of America during the worst economic crisis in it’s history….
liberals hate America and their agenda is to destroy it – and that is exactly what Obama represents – anarchy….

  9. The schools/bookstores in Canada and the USA took Taylor Caldwell books off all their shelves – they buried the voice of one of USA’s best novelists who warned the American people about Communism. Most people would not wade though any of Solzhenitsyn’s books – even the short “one Day in the Life of Ivan Destronotovitch (bad spelling). The pampered children of the Dirty Thirties kids lost all the spine of the Greatest Generation in clouds of pot and hedonism. Meanwhile a brave man, like this, was scoffed at….I pray that Governor Palin will wake the American people up before they doom all of North America to Russian style (1930’s) ‘purification’. Unca Mo will come back to Canada to help his useful idiots here.
Russian people and all Eastern European people never believed it could happen to them…but it did! Thank-you VERY much for posting this (again) Kate. SDA, like Governor Palin, speaks for liberty loving patriots of the Free World.

  10. How things change. Last year, uttering a single criticism of Bush would lead to a serial outcry by conservative pundits and grassroots. This year, the Republican candidate is priding himself on not being Bush. I wonder how a conservative candidate would do if he publicly disasociated himself from Reagan. I don’t know what to make of the silence of conservatives and republicans on Bush and his time in office. For all intents and purposes, its being treated as a failure by the candidates. And yet, last year, even here at SDA, Bush could do no wrong.
Even stranger, I find, is the support for McCain. I was reading a piece by Jonah Goldberg written in 2000, that suggests that I might have been living under a rock for the past 1 year.
“Exhibit A is Paul Weyrich, head of the Free Congress Foundation.”
“He has now taken to suggesting that John McCain is a Communist spy working at the bidding of some geriatric cabal of Vietnamese Communists. “The Cambodian Khmer Rouge has claimed that ‘McCain is a Vietnamese agent,’ for what it’s worth,” writes Weyrich.Weyrich quotes various conspiratorial websites (which I will not link to) and then says, there’s got to be some reason so many people think McCain is a “traitor.”
Huh? This is the same McCain who the conservatives are now rooting for? Am I missing something?
“A church flier in South Carolina calls him the “fag candidate.” Literature from a pro-Bush, pro-Life group shows a picture of a baby and reads “this little guy wants you to vote for George W. Bush.” McCain supporters get cold calls from unnamed Bush supporters calling him a “baby killer” who “wants to increase abortion on demand.” There are flyers “showing” McCain with Saddam Hussein, saying he voted to keep Hussein in office.”
So wait. These guys voted for Bush, because John McCain allegedly did all of the above. And now they are voting for John McCain because he represents a change from the Bush Administration? What in the world? Am I missing something?
Somewhere over the last one year, Bush went from being the darling of conservatives in the states and even here at SDA, to being the worst thing possible for the Republicans. What I can’t understand is why Republicans didn’t put John McCain into office in the first place?
Negative politics really works, eh? I’m beginning to agree with some of the more excitable elements here: voters are stupid.

  11. notayank = I think at this time the Real Scare is what Obama and a total control democrat govt. will do to the free world. Maybe world is too strong a word but I see the left lemmings following their baffalgab as far as they want to take them.

  12. manny is proof that ‘welfare state and share the wealth’ really tickles some ears.
Not my ears. I’m no conservative votin’, freeloadin’ farmer.

  13. My kids’ Russian piano teacher has been threatening to go into our NDP MLA’s office and give him a lesson in history. She says that if Canadian children were taught history instead of native button blanket making, there would be no socialist parties in Canada. Wake up everyone!!

  14. You really think Obama is a communist? I don’t think hes as left wing as the Libs here, let alone the Dippers.
And I am a bit confounded by this claim that he is anti-American or an America hater. Does that apply serially to anyone who is not Republican or is there a basis to it. Did he say something? Or is this one of those guilty by association things?

  15. When I was kid in the USA, hardly a day went by without someone saying, “It’s a free country.”, meaning that the decision is up to you.
As I’ve grown up, government has grown too, and fewer and fewer decisions are mine to make.
It’s insulting, and it pisses me off.

  16. The cynical use of popular shapers of public opinion – “… publishers, editors, journalists, actors, ….” and my new favourite word: “Educationalists”.
    A very clever man.

  17. Mao’s long slow march…..has been happening since 1968 and will continue until what made our country great is gone–Manny personifies the notion of the “useful idiot” We have too many of that ilk.

  18. Well it is still nice to know that those multi-millionaire actors and pontificating leftist media people will be the first to go.
I wonder if I could get the rights for a pay for view event? Naw too capitalistic I guess.

  19. “As I’ve grown up, government has grown too, and fewer and fewer decisions are mine to make.”
Care to elaborate? What kinds of decisions are we talking about?
“has been happening since 1968 and will continue until what made our country great is gone”
I thought Reagan had changed all that.

  20. Phase 1 and 2 are faits accompli. I would say that we’re currently well into Phase 3 with the current financial crisis and the huge nationalization process that is well under way.
Obama has arrived on the scene at just the right time and if he wins, which he might based on the “white guilt” and leftism that has been so well established during Phases 1 and 2, he will be perfectly poised to move us from Phase 3 into Phase 4.
    Game over.

  21. “My kids’ Russian piano teacher has been threatening to go into our NDP MLA’s office and give him a lesson in history. She says that if Canadian children were taught history instead of native button blanket making, there would be no socialist parties in Canada. Wake up everyone!!”
    I agree, Eddie.
They’ve been accomplishing this for quite a few years now here in Canada.
    Slowly, slowy eroding us.

  22. Watch the rest of the interviews (I found them on youtube). Wow. He uses the terms big brother and welfare state and the end of free markets (government regulation in what was once unregulated). Images of a world under Barack Obama.
While watching, I was struck by Obama’s election icon of the sun over the field of red and white stripes. We know this can’t be the dawn of the American era, but perhaps he is symbolizing the sun setting.
Bezmenov also points out that those demoralized will not ever understand the truth. He says you can show them documents – take them to concentration camps, they will never believe what change really means.

  23. Already did East Germany, all the education you will ever need on the nature of socialism/communism run amok.
The Iron Curtain and machine pistols were most welcoming. NOT.
As my aunt suggested to me tongue in cheek:
It gets nicer and nicer here with each passing day! 🙂

  24. It’s about time someone said this. Thank you. What’s my incentive to make my business turn a 250k profit if I’m going to be taxed an extra 3% on earnings after 250k? There’s none at all. And the notion that giving me a tax break now (which I would be getting under Obama’s plan) because it’ll help me reach my goal of earning a larger business is patently ridiculous. Socialism doesn’t work, and this cult of personality Obama’s been creating (with the help of the MSM) absolutely sickens me.
“Maybe an example– Joe the plumber wants to buy a buisness- Obama tells him he is going to spread the wealth- Joe the plumber doesn’t think its fair to over tax him for trying to be successfull-
MSM (Obamaites all)go about destroying Joe the plumbers reputation.– Obama leftist are all jumping to defend leftist view. Why shoud Joe the plumber try to be successfull when he gets s–t and abuse for trying and taxed to the hilt for succeeding?”

  25. “Screw the middle class. They’re a bunch of lefty elites with educations. Protect the wealthy…they need it.”
In the words of Joe Biden: “four letters: j, o, b, s.” Trickle down economics is a simplification of conservative economics, but it reflects the truth.

  26. What’s my incentive to make my business turn a 250k profit if I’m going to be taxed an extra 3% on earnings after 250k?
Ooooh! A whole 3%. The end of life as we know it. It’s not socialism, Joe the idiot, nor is it over taxation, and it ain’t shit and abuse. It’s a tiny step towards fair taxation. If your making over 250 grand, stop whining and start paying your fair share.

  27. Manny: check out Saul Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals, its Obama’s playbook. Also if Obama is so interested in “spreading the wealth” then why doesn’t he advocate a flat tax? Just a few thoughts from a conservative votin’ freeloadin’ farmer.

  28. It’s not socialism, Joe the idiot, nor is it over taxation, and it ain’t shit and abuse. It’s a tiny step towards fair taxation. If your making over 250 grand, stop whining and start paying your fair share.

Sorry, Manny. But, that’s the very definition of socialism, at least as it exists in the western world. “Fair taxation” is just a pseudonym for Tax The Rich ™.
True fair taxation would be a flat income tax, whereby everybody pays the same percentage of their income in taxes. Progressive taxation already takes the form of consumption taxes (for example, the GST), but in our current system, the so-called rick are f*cked over twice, once in income taxes, and again in consumption taxes.
I shudder to think of you in an position of power, Manny, since you seem to regard our current tiered income tax system as only a “tiny step” towards “fair taxation.” Perhaps you should be considering relocation to Cuba, or North Korea, since both of those societies might appeal better to your sense of fairness.

  29. To be fair, the capital gains tax is only 15% in the States, so the wealthy can effectively pay a lower tax rate than those in tax brackets beneath them. And with a little more “creative” accounting, that figure can get even lower :).

  30. manny..Not my ears. I’m no conservative votin’, freeloadin’ farmer…
    Obviously you aren’t manny.
The farmers I know work hard, long hours. And have to put up with some of their neighbours sitting on their butts all day while the guvament spreads the wealth.Actually it was worse in the Rae days…bet you hated Harris too.eh, manny?

Spoken like a true marxist. The trouble with the politics of envy, manny, is that swiping extra cash from those earning more than you doesn’t help your own situation, it only provides a “gotcha” form of psychological relief. And, too, when this type of attitude prevails, then the yardstick that defines “the rich” gets ever and ever shorter, as the government requires yet more revenues to shower the low or non-earners with more handouts. Soon there are more “rich earners” than ever imagined, and everybody enjoys the tax shaft.
And, too, when you start going after the small business owners (or their aspirants, like Joe the Plumber), why then, taxing them more just causes them to reduce costs, such as laying off employees, hurting the lower earners your marxist plans are supposed to help out. But that’s OK by the Left’s playbook, as we’re only supposed to judge them on their intentions, and not by the results of their actions.
