  1. I bet dollars to donuts that some bigwig at Liberal HQ asked CTV to air the interview with the express purpose of fatally wounding Dion.
With support like that…he is done like dinner.

  2. Bob Fife should consider himself lucky that he was “quite rough-up by a Mountie” as opposed to being rough-up by a “knuckledragger”. Us knuckledragger leave marks and bloodied noses!

  3. Bob: that’s not bob fife that got roughed its roger smith, Did anyone notice that Dion even put his hand on smith to stop him.

  4. The CTV reporter should have asked Dion if he could start over. Better petulant snit out of that I’m guessing.

  5. Libs got the lowest % of votes ever because they are in touch with Canadians. They aught to think about that or maybe not if their number gets smaller who would care? Other than Kinsella.
He doesn’t want to talk to CTV! Doesn’t he remember Chretien offering Lloyd Robertson a senate seat?
0 LPoC and NDPers in rural ridings where farmers are subject to the CWB, imagine.

  6. CTV(tass) leads with a Boob Rae story today.
they spent more time with this loser than anyone next to Dizzy Lizzy May.
Can Craggy Oliver take his retirement package now, there are no red chamber seats for folks who can only see lieberal reds. a dismal day indeed. cut loose Craig , even that goofy broad Van Dussen mentioned the conservatives the odd time.

  7. Conservative win in CANADA.
Yes, let’s here it for our folks up North.
    Someone is using their heads.

  8. CTV’s pathetic grovelling to the Liberals last night does not serve the interests of all Canadians. The finacially broke Liberal party appears to own CTV.
Roger Smith was almost crying over Dion’s loss and then begs us to forgive Dion!!! What is up with that?
I fully expect Oliver and Taber to give Dion the Cheer on Qustion Period for being such a brave courageous little fella. Gag.
Was Craig Oliver drunk last night? He really showed his nasty, angry streak. I thought the tone of the Questions of the conservative MP’s that he interviewed was very disrespectful and showed Craig Oliver’s true clorours.

  9. Even The Elfin One has decided the election blow is too much and he is closing down his blog.
No more Cherniak to laugh at, Garth a goner, Dion gone soon . . . what will we do for fun ?

  10. Oh come on, Lloyd and Roger: Dion acts like a prick to you guys and you still find ways to overlook his juvenile behaviour. Integrity, very nice man, etc. etc. Come on.

  11. So Dion was as low as he has ever been….what he expected to win?????
He truely was in a bubble of his own making. Its tough when reality crashes the party.
As for the interview. Hey it was nasty, but you know what, grow up, it has happened to every pol there is
Mulroney, no whore like an old whore
Chretien, his manhandler grab, his ramblings on fictional homeless guys
Harper, the abortion interview and worse the “not for publication” comments on Cadman.
Dion is clearly not a big boy and thought he was running for high school guidance counsellor.
Remeber all the comments about Harper wanting to take his ball and go home….well this is an absolute case of it, in spades. For all of the nastiness of the “not a leader” ads….they were all apparently true, proving the dictum of negative advertising, they work if they highlight and underlying truth.
Dion, not a leader, not able to take a punch, not able to deliver a punch, out of his depth, out of his league.
Please Please Please keep him as leader of the Liberal Party.

  12. John g said: “I bet dollars to donuts that some bigwig at Liberal HQ asked CTV to air the interview with the express purpose of fatally wounding Dion.”
Yes indeedy! I concur, particularly considering how CTV normally treats Liberals and Conservatives. Liberals always get the golden treatment, Conservatives get “When did you stop beating your wife, sir?”
Makes Mr. Dion’s little outburst all the more childish in my view, somebody in his own party arranged that little bushwhacking and he yells at the CTV guy. Brilliant.
Damn good thing he lost. Hope the next guy they get is an even larger dork. Boob Rae would be great.

  13. Roger Smith almost got a big green loogy spit right in his face by Dion and a charlie horse by the pepper spray gang and what does Smith and Robertson say? “Well it’s not like him…His dissapointed…He usually is a respecful man (AKA compared to that steely eyed, mean spirited Harper)
    P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C
To think I watched CTV last night because I blacked out CBC a long time ago…Craig Oliver was so noseating Lloyd almost told him to shut up a few times. Especially the “ground hog” moment when just a few minutes into counting, Oliver was screeching “Why an election, it’s the same results…” To which, Robertson said: “Aren’t you ahead of yourself here Craig?”
Of course of few minutes later the Conservatives numbers were moving way ahead.
What an embarrassing old blind moonbat.

  14. Garth is getting to look more and more like David Suzuki.
Take another look at the “He IS big” picture.

  15. The sucking up to Dion from CTV was a bit much. They must have gotten the word from their bosses. Anyway, it happens once to Dion and he goes into a public funk and gets all emotional….it happens to Harper ten times a day and he soldiers on. I know who I want leading this country and it sure as hell isn’t a “poor me” little boy.

  16. Indeed, Soccermom, he was quite mean, rather than green. I guess he needs another mulligan on that one. Anyway, the guy is finished, the LPC made a huge mistake in bringing in a caretaker leader; they should have gotten on with the remarking of their political culture, away from cronyism and elitism.
Now they have to try it – broke, with an abysmal turnout of MPs to Ottawa. WRT to majority denied in Quebec – it is so, but not because the arts cuts or law an order issue – they were simply catalysts that allowed superior numbers and organization of BQ to frame the message, without serious rebuttal.
The debates were no help, because they were a pile on Harper joke. Outside of Canada, for what it’s worth, the Tories destroyed the opposition, they really kicked their a**es (sorry, except Atlantic Canada, but give them time as they will soon become oil barons and jettison the socialists).
The Grit loss was expected, but Jack Layton was truly a disaster. He failed to significantly increase his party’s share of seats or popular vote, because he failed to capture the Left lib vote (in fact he delivered Liberal votes via the Tories), and his party will remain on the fringes until it drops its Marxist rhetoric, stereotyping corporations, which are mostly small business owners, with evil oil companies and banks.
    Can Layton keep his job?

  17. I could sympathise somewhat but for all those years of demonising Harper and constant irrelevant references to BushBush.
    Suck it up, Princess.

  18. Pity Pity – he is as low as he as ever been in his life. As low as his global warming trend.

  19. Cry me a river . . . for poor little Dion, “a man of integrity [sic]” says Lloyd.
This clip shows both Dion and CTV at their petulant, snivelling worst. I’m absolutely fed up with the two faced skulduggery of the MSM. And our little pal, Justin, expressed today that we all have to get along now and move forward. I think he needs to speak to his MSM and Liberal buddies about that.
I sent this to the CBC Ombudsman—paper trail, that’s all:
    “Dear Mr. Carlin
“When I watched CBC’s coverage of the election last night, I was struck by the disrespectful way in which many of the commentators, especially Peter Mansbridge, the anchor, talked about the Prime Minister.
“E.g., After Stephen Harper’s acceptance speech—quite gracious, I thought, after he’d been slagged by the other leaders—he was joined by his daughter, Rachel. As they held hands and moved to the front on the podium, they were both obviously startled by a paper barrage, part of the celebration.
“Mr. Mansbridge made snide and most ungracious comments—gratuitous put-downs—about the Prime Minister at that point. One part of it had to do with having more RCMP protection. Perhaps, in your defence of Mr. Mansbridge, which is what I altogether expect, the CBC might provide me with the exact words of his put downs. This, as well as his “CBC insider” bantering with the commentators, was most unprofessional. He comes across as a preening, peevish school boy.
“My complaint here is directed at Mr. Mansbridge. However, I’d like to make a general comment. The CBC’s election coverage was disgraceful. There wasn’t even an attempt at balance or fairness: I listen to Radio 2 from 10:00 to 3:00—most of the new programming has lost me and my husband—and, as in my complaint of the other day, noticed that anti-CPC/Harper stories were given straight up, as if there were no other opinion on whatever the matter was. This kind of vindictive, unprofessional “reporting”, which overlooks your own standards, is damaging to CBC’s reputation. I don’t think this matters much to the CBC, but it does to those of us who pay your salaries, only to hear our views lied about, mocked, and belittled on an on-going basis.
“What the CBC reporters and news people—the pompous and clearly partisan Don Newman is one of the worst—think of the Conservatives and the Prime Minister is their own business: it not the business of the whole country, business which they’ve made sure to impose on us by their ungracious, sniping, griping, and “we have favourites” antics. This has got to stop.
“Mr. Carlin, it is the CBC’s responsibility to behave in a professional manner when covering the political scene. CBC must appear to be objective, a standard at which it has failed miserably: rather than honouring its mandate—to help Canadians really understand the complex issues, which is needed for us to make thoughtful, responsible decisions—the CBC has served up the most partisan and shameful propaganda. You need to do much better.
    “Sincerely –”
Personally, I’d like to see PMSH be more assertive in challenging the MSM’s myths about both him and themselves. Enough already!

  20. Get ready for Bob Rae, the new leader of the Liberal party. Power Corp will be back in business soon enough.

  21. Can someone please draw and post a carton of Oinklizbeth May as miss piggy with Kermit Dion serenading her with…it is not Izzy to be green? Thanks a tonne(of carbon.)

  22. sssssssssssssssssT, sssssssssssssssssssssT
the sound of lieberal long knives being sharpened by the backroom boys:-)))))
and now that di-onky and barf turnip will be gone, the cbc will have to alter their entertainment programing:-))))

  23. I couldn’t believe that Craig Oliver guy — the man is a hopeless hack…he refused to give the Conservatives their due.

  24. 4 things I’m thankful for today; Stephanie lashing at CTV, them making excuses for his behaviour, Garth’s gone and May’s gone. It’s a good day in MY CANADA.

  26. Why did I get the impression last night’s CTV coverage was actually a Grit farewell party?
Harper has locked up power for at least 2 years, possibly 4. Can Rae, who just recovered from heart surgery, or others like Ignatieff, Manley, and Tobin be expected to stick around, or languish in opposition?
How do they expect to defeat Harper when he has more seats than combined Lib/NDP plus around 30? Harper can easily garner the 12 votes he needs with bipartisan approach in House.
My sincere advice to the LPC is to start over with a new leader, relatively unknown, to rebuild the party culture, finances and image.

  27. Now if only the PM will cut the CBC funding by 50% or more, then cut off the taxpayer funding of political parties, all will be right with the universe.

  28. Just love that girly-man push Stephane gave Roger after the cop pushed him first. And then how Steffie sticks his nose up in the air and pretends to ignore Roger.
What an awkward man. But yet so full of himself.

  29. Oh but he was quick to play the victim role, no?
Me thinks dion is much more conniving and manipulative than is portrayed by his handlers and in the media.
I’z ard of earing you know!
    Dat’s not fair!
    Got what he deserved IMHO.

  30. The next rising Liberal star is Justin Trudeau.Watch Craig Oliver Fawn over him. actually not just Craig Oliver but all the media. I was really hoping he would lose but he didn’t.

  33. It’s all CTV’s fault! Give us a break. They’re not responsible for your language skills.

  34. To Concerned Canadian….Thanks for taking the time to write to these partisan hacks. I escaped most of the coverage because I was scrutineer overseeing the count.(MP Weston C gain) Yeah!. But when I got home my 24 yr old daughter called me in a huff. She was so incensed at the CTV coverage she kept saying she was writing a letter as we spoke. The bias was too much etc etc. She has never really cared about politics at all, except for voting dutifully. She is in PR and understands spin very well…and yet she was struck by the unfairness and bias of the coverage. That tells me 2 things people in general are getting wise to the manipulation of the MSM and as small c conservatives we have to expand and strengthen the alternative media to keep our voices heard. I suggested to her that she write to PMSH instead and tell him what she saw and that she was offended by the fact that her views were so openly mocked and dismissed. That way I figure he gets to know that there are a lot of people in this country who support him and are getting tired of the national networks setting their own agendas above those of the Canadian public. (sorry for the long post)

  35. CTV reporter “I’ve just been quite roughed up by one of the mounties”
“Omar Khadr is a child soldier”
and “Mr Dion is a man of integrity”

  36. I saw P M Stephen Harper being startled by the streamer shooting up towards his daughter and himself. What exactly was that all about? I suppose we are to believe it was coincidental, I think not, the media “scrum” oops “scum” seemed to find it quite amusing. Anyway Conservatives are the big winners I am glad if Dion or Layton had of gotten in it would be time to “cash out” and head for Arizona before they got around to taxing us back to the “good old days” As for that screeching “your votebelongstoMEcauseIamsavingthePLANET” HA HA HA she like Dion thinks she is “leader for LIFE” good luck with that Elizabeth May If I was a Green You would be the first item on the TO-DO list Quisling!

  37. I love Paris in the springtime.
I love Paris in the fall.
I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles,
I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles.
    I love Paris every moment,
    every moment of the year.
I love Paris, why, oh why do I love Paris?

  38. I watched the election coverage on CTV because I expected CBC would be doing it’s usual smear job of the CPC. What a surprise. It was a LIBERAL LOVE IN. Craig Oliver was drunk…or else out of control because his LIBERANO$ were tanking…BUT, Brian Tobin was just full of sour grapes. Loyld Robinson even made reference to when he was the “RAT PACK” with Boudreau and Copps, it was so bad.
All I heard was how much this election costs and nothing was gained…BLa BLa BLa.Even when they were interviewing Conservative Candidates who were ” Happy & Celebrating “their win. The place was like a morgue with ashen looking media faces.
What a sorry bunch of poor sportsmanship shown to Canadians last night. It was like a comedy show and the only one smiling was the Conservative guest.
Wonder if we will see Dions little tantrum shown on the news, now that the election is over?

  39. Concerned Canadian – Great letter to Vince Carlin! Well done. If we drowned MSM in protest mail each time we saw blatant bias such as that, we might get the point across.
As for Craig Oliver, well he was being – Craig Oliver. We should take up a collection for a retirement gift. Maybe he’d take the hint.

  40. so, dion did the face plant I predicted.
because someone at CTV put their foot out and he tripped on it.
and someone at lib hqts may have grabbed the ctv foot in question and forced it into position to trip dion. who just did a face plant on live tv.
    LOL !!!
looks good on ya there stephalococcus dion !!!
here’s a tip for the next election: LEARN SOME ENGLISH.

  41. One glaring thing we are seeing from this election is the spitting, spewing media hacks like Oliver and the usuals, showing their true colours, Liberal red. They aren’t even trying to hide it, not that they could, it’s written all over them.
Dion may be a decent person, but in the desperate situation the Liberals are in, they were anything but decent, including Dion when he constantly called OUR PRIME MINISTER a liar, it was his favourite English word.
Now all we hear is what will the Liberals have to do and when will they do it to pick themselves up from the depths of poverty and despair?
How about we talk about the great strides and success of PM Harper who formed a new party from a Conservative coalition and steered a successful Minority for two and a half years.
He would be in Majority if the Quebec “Nation” hadn’t been so stupid to believe lies spewed by the Treasonista Bloc-heads. Add to that the vitriolic egomaniac known as Danny Williams, who’s personal vendetta against Harper spurred by extreme greed, commanded his people to vote ABC.
No trip to Newfie for us, may be small potatoes but if enough do it, it will hurt.
We can all give thanks, the Liberals got their dues, long overdue. Let them go lick their wounds and quit blaming everyone else when they did it to themselves. Maybe they could look to the likes of Chretien, who they trotted out to ‘help’ in the dying days, and Paul Martin who divided the party for blame.
To hell with Liberals, let’s enjoy the great accomplishment of Harper against the odds, the Opposition of four Leftist parties and their Leftist media buddies.

  42. Did anyone else notice the Igster being interviewed (I believe on CTV, not sure because we kept flipping channels)? He was smirking, skulking and making chippy statements and looked all the world to be auditioning to be one of Larry, Curly or Moe, rather than the next leader of “Canada’s Natural Governing Party”.
