The Tiger In Elections Canada?

Anyone else check that little box on their tax return authorizing Revenue Canada to share your data with Elections Canada?

Oops.

“Most disturbingly, investigators have found sets of voters lists issued by Elections Canada that held the names of persons residing on given streets in various areas of Scarborough,” reads the affidavit. “Furthermore the lists had yellow highlighter placed on names of Tamil heritages. These lists were confirmed to be periodic lists distributed to candidates and Ministers during elections years.”

  1. I never check that box, let them work for my information. I also refuse to give them my bank account number to send the refund cheque to. They already have enough info on us, why volunteer to give them more?
Also, during the census, you could not refuse to give the census taker your income bracket. If you refused, they had the ability to get it from RevCan.
Now, what political party is friendly with the Tamil Tigers? Could they have given them the lists? Just asking!

  2. Wouldn’t surprise me that Elections Canada think that somehow, in the spirit of Multi what-ever-the-f……, it’s a good thing to pass this info. along.

  3. “The Tiger In Elections Canada”, nothing should surprise. There could be a few ‘honorary members’ of the Tigers from members of a certain political party. They’re suck-ups and panderers, for votes,no scruples required and it’s all too obvious. Selling their souls for the ethnic vote, it’s the Liberal way.

  4. The Tamil Tigers aren’t terrorists. They’re a gentlemen’s social club. Just ask Paul Martin.

  5. lance…all the comments above this post are fubar. Internal server error.

  6. It isn’t hard to get your hands on an election list. Just volunteer to work on an election campaign. Any number of campaign workers have acccess to the election list (both hard and electronic copies).

  7. meet Liberal Leader Stephane Dion at the Gay Rodeo coinciding with the 2008 Stampede……….

  8. Thanks justthinking and cal2. I rebuilt them and they should be accepting comments now.
    That scheduled post problem again.

  9. Every government database is a disaster waiting to happen, a potential danger to everyone whose data is contained.

  10. The fox is guarding the henhouse and what do you get? not one hen left and a fat, happy, well fed, and content fox

  11. Every year millions of cdns get mailing labels from Rev Canada for their tax returns. Who prints these lists. As I said on another thread, everything about you is on your tax return and who has access to it during its journey and after it reaches destination. I never encourage my clients to send a cheque with their return, gives someone access to your account number ect.
Next year I will not be checking that box for my clients.
You can refuse the income question on the census form. If questioned ask the person how they know you did not answer unless they opened your form. I had this problem a few years ago and was threatened by the census taker with further action. I asked how she knew, and was told that to make sure they were fill out properly she had to open them. She wasn’t supposed to do that so I told her to put in a figure. I called in to a talk show and was told it never happened, no one can open the forms. A few days later the host was apologetic, seems his form had been opened.
We also had to do the farm census form, and when questioned later, by another survey group, they said their got their info from Stats canada. Anyone that thinks the figures on a census are right are crazy. We even listed 4 deer that appeared daily for food as livestock. Didn’t mention the fox den, for fear enviroidiots would confiscate our land.
Many companies sell their lists, does Rev Can or EC. If you want to test this, try applying for something, or registering at a hotel etc, and misspell your name. Soon you will get all kinds of stuff with the wrong spelling.
We are too trusting, and give out personal info without thinking. I think that is about to change.

  12. I remember watching that farce of a show the next prime minster or some such… and the biggest threat that they could come up with was the obvious terrorists in Canada….
Identity Theft is 1 million times more likely to happen to you…there are 35 million legal Canadians living here… how many of us have been killed in terror attacks world wide let alone in Canada??? Now look at the numbers affected by ID theft…
Laws need to change and the data bases housing all this stuff need to be isolated from external access… God knows Hollywood has done enough movies about it… so it should be pretty simple for people to identify with this problem…
As for, “the lists had yellow highlighter placed on names of Tamil heritages.” It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots… hmmm EC highlighting the group we all know vote Liberal… Liberals giving the vote back to 2+ year jail term convicted fellons, EC raiding CPC head quarters with Liberal hired camera men just happening to be in the office that day with all their gear and the CBC being on the scene and set up 2 hours before the warant is issued…
It’s not being paranoid if there really is something fishy going on…

  13. I haven’t filed in 10 years. Call it civil disobedience.
But I still have taxes deducted from my pay and pay all those other taxes when I buy something.
Elections Canada only gets my info when I am enumerated.
I’m not encouraging anyone else to do the same. I’ve got a reason. 😀
    Let’s see where this goes…

  14. In fact, you’re only required to file if you actually owe tax. If your taxes are coming off your paycheck, you almost certainly don’t owe any taxes and you’re most likely entitled to a refund. So Mr. Dough probably isn’t disobeying anything, and he could easily be pissing his hard-earned money away. But it’s his money, and if he gets a kick out of it, more power to him.
