Are never far away. Bob Rae’s leadership campaign staffers have a history.

I must agree that thank g*d there is a place sane people can communicate. My embarassment about being a Canadian grows everyday reading the MSM crap. Each day I can barely keep from going postal when I read comments from the clueless lemmings in our society. Are they really that many people in denial…for the sake of the country I hope not. I do not understand why the CPC does not push more bills through, such as reforms to Young Offenders Act (I couldn’t think of what the replacement is called, both are ridiculous pieces of legislation), native reform, etc and make them matters of confidence. In theory they have a majority, use it.
I want an election, praying for a Conservative majority in place so they can scrap such “institions” or my choice “money black holes” like the CBC and clean up and shrink the civil service.
One can only hope…
Somebody mentioned the 10-12 billion the Libs hid away in “foundations”. My gut says the foundations are central to the whole income trust fiasco. Remember, the Libs were already running on empty coffers by the time they hit the run-up to the Jan 06 election. So, they made noises that they were going to make changes to the income trust tax, forcing down the prices over a broad range of stocks. Then, they borrowed from these blind foundations, run by Librano friendly managers, and dumped 40 or 50 or 60 million here and there into income trusts, and then announced that there would be no changes. The leak that we all know about was diversionary. In the meantime, the borrowed funds get pulled from the manipulated stocks over a 2 or 3 week period, at a healthy margin, 25 or 30% in many cases. By siphoning off half or so of the profits, and returning the remainder to the foundation, the Libs picked up needed election funds, say 10M or better, and the foundation still looks like its’ being well managed as the annualized return on 10 or 12% over 90 days is pretty damn good. I’m prepared to put up a twenty on that.
I think that you are absolutely right about the income trusts Bill Greenwood! It is fun, for me, to listin to the Puffins squawk.
Bob Rae is a sweet guy …. but he’s still a commie
The Liberals may also learn that Rae is unelectable in Ontario… Oddly, the only one of the Three Libranos that has a chance of pulling their butts out, Iggy, is getting no play. Good.
Does anyone have the stats from the 2006 election in the 4 ridings voting on Monday. How many votes did each party get. If the liberals win all of them, we need to compare the vote/party. Graham used to get massive victories, will Rae get the same. If the conservatives increase their vote percentage in any of the ridings couldn’t that be a win also.
When/if Rae wins on Monday I fully expect the media to spin this as a massive show of support for liberals, when it is just another example of the voters in that riding telling Canadians to go to hell.
I wish they would do what they did in Elbow in Calgary, (Ralphs riding) and elect anyone but liberal, to send a message. With a federal election coming soon, they could then go back to following the sheep and elect a liberal.
Think of the shock in the media. Think of the look on Newmans face.
Right on Bill Greenwood another student of history. Remember Petrofina, worth 900 million on paper so “MO” the greatest slime ball Canada ever offered up to the world engineered a liberal govt. takeover for his commie friend Turdeau and the likes of Lalonde and Cretin cheered them on. Quietly all well connected liberals accumulated shares in Petrofina and “shazam” it turned into Petro Canada and zoomed up to a 2.3 billion dollar company, think anyone sold their shares? There is a fellow in a southern Alberta town who was Turdeaus secretary, man he has a lot of money to have only been a secretary for ten years under the cause of all Canadas problems, Turdeau.
Any sign of free TV’s being offered in Desnethe-Missinnippi-Churchill River?
How come one of those names rhymes with Cashbagliano?
Doofus: I was wondering the same thing. Which one in ‘the family’ is he?
Which brings up another oddity. At risk of being accused of casting aspersions on Italian-Canadians, does anyone else find it rather odd that there seem to be a lot of Italian names tied to a money laundering scheme? It’s worth noting that in the New York-New Jersey cartage rackets, garbage truck company’s were forced to keep some mobster on the payroll in a fictitious position in exchange for “protection”. Now, when you read about a couple of connected guys, with last names that fit the bill, being put on the payroll of an ad agency that’s bleeding the federal government while doing no apparent work suddenly looks a lot like the Mob, doesn’t it? Now, should we be looking a little harder at those foundations?
Bill Greenwood: “Now, should we be looking a little harder at those foundations?”
Most definitely. But now that Conrad Black’s in jail and the National Post has been taken over by the Asper Family, heavy hitters for the Liberals, who’re you gonna call?
Until the CPC get a majority government, their hands are tied (or should I say, their feet are locked in cement blocks?), and look what the scandal-of-the-month smear machine of the Librano$ is trying to do to the credibility of the CPC and its leader.
Now, we’ve got Power Corp working overtime to elect NDP turncoat Bob Rae as a Librano, so that he can assume the crown of the “Natural Ruling Party” of Canada. (Why not just change the LPoC to the NRP?)
Something is REALLY rotten in the State of Canada. You can smell it. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth. But you can’t quite get at it–because of the “protection” and the colluding MSM spin?
