Via email – “Tonight, there was a vote on an amendment to the Budget that was put forward by Canadas Official Opposition, the Liberal Party of Canada. Only 7 members of the Liberal Party bothered to show up to vote.”
UPDATE: Perhaps they were lost in translation…
“I said over months, many times every day, that we’ll support the budget or we’ll not vote against the budget to a point to make the government falling down if the budget is not detrimental to Canadians too much,”
h/t maz2

I hope they don’t come back. The disgusting bunch of pinheads!
The new Group of Seven ?
“translation” man your on the ball Kate…Brilliant!
OT
The Conservatives wiped the Liberals and NDP in Alberta tonight. Albertans don`t want any of that socialist crap! Keep them all in the East!

It is quite revealing that as recent as last week, how many Libloggers were decrying the lack of leadership that Dion and the Liberals were exhibing with abstensions, a walkout, supporting the Government, rump voting etc. So what has changed within the Liberal Party since then? Absolutley nothing; in fact today they voted………to defeat their own budget amendment. (?!)
Just because there is another high profile story in the news, Liberal supporters can suddenly forget about the massive problems within their own Party? No, I really don’t think so. “Cadscam” is NOT going to fix what is wrong with the Liberal Party. It is not going to work as a distraction for long. Using “Cadscam” is only a bandaid solution that is going to hurt like hell when its ripped off, only to find the wound underneath is still festering. The Liberals have learned nothing.
It looks like right now the ethics committee is not going to get involved in this “Cadscam”. Now I’m no supporter of the NDP, but the NDP is playing it smart by taking the high road and looking, by comparison to the Liberals, like a reasonable Opposition.
Just amazing. And lots of Canadians say that George Bush doesn’t have any speaking skills.

Didn’t watch this big no-show…who had the balls to show and at least vote?
Dion’s magnificent SITZKRIEG continues!!

I know the libs wanted to throw the vote but did they want to throw it this badly? Could this be the beginning of a caucus revolt in an attempt to dump Dion.
In perusing the blogs over the last few days I’ve noticed a distinct lack of comments from the liberal trolls, I find it quite refreshing to be able to sit down and read the comments here without having to filter the mostly juvenile rantings that used to be posted by them.
maz2, you’ve been studying that idiot for long enough, what does that mean?
you never provide translation for him… what are we to think?
I always hoped he had been drinking, but I fear not.

The Liberals are only interested in appearing in the
House for QP, making false accusations, sneering and smearing and howling like Banshees. It’s their only venue as they’ve stupidly found out.
Harper has served notice he will not take any more false accusations and smears on his integrity.
They have, again stupidly, decided to posture and avow to ignore the litigation served on Dion, Ignatieff, Goodale and the LPC by Harper.
Accusing someone of a criminal act without solid foundation is pretty risky business. It appears they’re about to find out.
It looks like Dion and the gang are attempting to show balls when it’s brains they need to engage.
Brainless bravado is for losers.
Seven showed up to vote?
Perhaps the rest of the Liberals felt that if they weren’t going to be paid overtime the hell with showing up for work.
After all Liberals are entitled to their entitlements.
“to make the government falling down”
This kind of incoherence is excusable from the average bilingual person, but laughable from someone who claims he deserves to be PM.
I posted six of the seven that voted over at Janke’s site, missed the seven. Five were the seats directly surrounding Dion, so that when the camera was on Dion, it didn’t look like nobody was there.
Off the top of my head, Dion, Goodale, Ignatieff, Jennings, Redman, Proulx. I want to say McCallum for the seventh, would make sense as the finance critic…but not sure about that.
It was jawdropping to watch.

marc in calgary shrewdly pointed out: “you never provide translation for him… what are we to think?”
Voila! Le translation from the Hollow Man via Lib/MSM:
““The view that, oh, it may be acceptable in a democratic system and unacceptable when it’s not a democratic system has no logic,” Dion said. “Then suppose that you have a Canadian in danger of the death penalty in China*. We’ll say to the Chinese government — ‘Hey, we don’t want this penalty in your country.’ Do you think it will be a very powerful argument when they will know that in Montana we close our hearts?””
*H/T Mao Stlong.
This is not fair. We can only have 7 members in the House as part of our surrender terms to the Tories.
