Kid Khadr

60 Minutes;

.. got a rare glimpse into a Guantanamo case — one of the first that will be prosecuted. Consider this: is Omar Khadr a hardened terrorist — a bad seed, or an obedient son, led astray by his family?

I’ll settle for dead ender.
Video here.

  1. now that is a change from CBCpravdas constant sympathy whine.
CBCpravda “All Khadr, All the Time”, expect a rebuttal from Mama Khadr and the toil and trouble sisters to be on CBCpravda tonight.

  2. And to think Mr Chretien intervened personally to get Daddy Khadr released, but apparently couldnt lift a finger for Bill Samson.
Guess Bill didnt have a contribution to the Liberal Party behind him.

  3. Kate will have to post about it cal2.I’ll be working to keep the commies on air with my taxes.

  4. The CBC continues to present the terrorist Khadr as a Canadian. They also continue to only show pictures of him when he was 14, or so.
Despite their best efforts of attempting to squeeze out Canadian sympathy, it doesn’t seem Canadians care. Or, more likely, would rather see him punished to the full extent of military law.
As well, if we agree that he is a titular ‘Canadian’, then why isn’t he also being charged with treason?
I say, do like the new Swiss government has pledged to do and deport the whole rotten terrorist family.

  5. “I understand that the evidence reveals that a grenade was thrown over a wall, but that nobody saw him throw it,” Simon remarks.
“I think it’s fair to say that no person saw him actually throw the grenade,” Altenburg replies.
    So why the charges?
Says Altenburg, “Because there is circumstantial evidence that would indicate he was the one who threw the grenade.”
Meaning no one else was found alive who could have thrown it.

WTF is wrong with us? This perfectly encapsulates why we cannot win the WOT. It also describes the onanism that goes on nearly everywhere in discussions, even here at times. While blowhards love to hear the sound of their own voices, terrorists plot on how to kill you, and you are mesmerized by your clever verbosity. Enough of this sh*t I say, let’s start killing some bad guys and stop wringing our hands incessantly.

  6. Da proof is da proof is the da proof is what is proven. PMJC.
CBCpravda 653 stories about the Khadrs and counting.

  7. Yeah, meanwhile also give CTV’s Paula Todd a break so she can work on saving the Canadian confessed killer on death row in the US.

  8. I believe Khadr confessed as well, more like bragged and threatened. Im surprised CBCpravda hasnt fished out his grade 1 picture.

  9. There was once a firmly observed principle that governments would not acquiesce to hostage takers demands lest the wrong precedent be established. (Too many have now violated that.) A similar principle should be established that age should not be a pass to accountability in acts of terrorism. Hang him by his thumbs with the rest of them.

  10. The most sickening takeaway from the story is that this disgusting family lives in Toronto.
As for his brother Omar, Abdul Karim believed he’d get out of Guantanamo and get even. “When he’s all right again he’ll find them again … and take his revenge,” he said.
    Sweet.

  11. His family lives in Toronto?
Well, they would feel perfectly at home there wouldn’t they?
What’s with the CBS 60 minutes bleeding heart Bull S**t anyway? They need to mind their own business. Aren’t there more pressing matters to deal with in the USA and the world that than this little rabid dog in the kennel he belongs in.

  12. I Curse the Marine that missed the kill shot he had lined up on this foamy little Jihadi cockroach.
Taking him back to Canada is an act of treason to this nation…my Gawd we now have a rep for taking in the globe’s depraved criminal trash.

  13. Interesting, that the post of this over at G&M,is another one of those ‘comments closed’ topics.I would love to read some of the spin the Dippers/Libs would put up,but I guess freedom of speech only goes so far at the Globe.

  14. Im surprised CBCpravda hasnt fished out his grade 1 picture
Yep, but, the photo most likely culled from the family album accompaning the story makes him look so innocent and angelic. And, the “liked to read Harry Potter” in the opening line was another nice sympathy metanarrative setup.
Amusing isn’t it that following the typical lefty metanarrative guidelines anyone of us could write their drivel for them.

  15. “is Omar Khadr a hardened terrorist — a bad seed, or an obedient son, led astray by his family?”
Yeah, and they taught him real good how to throw grenades. WTF? So the left has this guy and an admitted multiple murder in Montana as their folk heros?
This guy is a prisoner of war, at least. POWs don’t get released until the war is over. The only mitigating factor is that he was only 15 at the time of the incident, but that is trumped by his lack of remorse and eagerness to continue the fight.
He is simply too dangerous to be released, because he was not a normal 15 year old young man (IOW, a complete ass hole), he was a trained killer, totally subjigated to the cause of Islamism.

  16. The sad and annoying thing is that the only reason why we are hearing about Omar or his family is because he LIVED. Nothing is being said about Papa Khadr or either of the other brothers that were killed or wounded on the wrong side.

  17. “WTF is wrong with us? This perfectly encapsulates why we cannot win the WOT. It also describes the onanism that goes on nearly everywhere in discussions, even here at times. Doug, you nailed it with that zinger. Thanks.

  18. “is Omar Khadr a hardened terrorist — a bad seed, or an obedient son, led astray by his family?”
I believe in his culture he is considered an adult at the age of 15 years, for girls the age is even younger. So according to his culture he is able to get married and go to war. they don’t hesitate to send teenagers into war situations, how do we deal with that?

  19. Will there be any questions in QP today by the liberals re the teenage boy shot by the taliban for teaching english, or the mutilated bodies just found hanging, by the taliban. How come they never question how the taliban tortures people. Its these loving people the liberals support. In addition they support a wanted forger, tax evader, and fraudster. And, according to these past liberal PMs, those are cdn values.

  20. Khadr’s Lawyer calls airing of tape outrageous (fr.G&M)
Lawyer for detained Can.terror ‘suspect'(poor baby)says it’s outrageous that cbs has broadcast a tape of his client “allegedly” building explosives.
Dennis Edney says that a US judge previously ruled that the video couldn’t be used as evidence in court.
Edney believes the (really bad)American Gov’t likely leaked the tape to 60 Min.in a bid to sidestep that decision.
    Let the sideshow begin!

  21. Because when it comes to scoring political points no liberal will hesitate to scoop up a handful of sewer sludge …. even if they have to wade deep into the septic tank to find a lump.
    Khadr is such a lump!

  22. Posted at DMB but would like to repeat here after the weekend of comments on PET. This is the nation that we have become under liberalism. By the way is the wheelchair bound Kadr getting any vet. benefits from the Taliban or is he just getting the Canadian welfare benefit. Nice to know where some of our taxpayer money is going courtesy of Liberal multiculturalism.

  23. Will there be any questions in QP today by the “(L)iberals re the teenage boy shot by the taliban for teaching english, or the mutilated bodies just found hanging, by the taliban. C’mon MaryT, how will that prove Tories just as corrupt as Grits? How will that discredit Harper? It won’t, so is irrelevant to “Canadian (true Grit) values.”

  24. ET, I thought it was only a wife, living in Toronto, of a warlord from Ethiopia that was receiving welfare checks while her husband was working overseas. Are you telling me there are more questionable welfare recipients.

  25. CTV(tass) reporting on Khadr but not CBCpravda. maybe they decided to cap it at 653 stories or maybe its an extra union day off , noticed that the most blogged stories stay up forever. when you look at them the commentaries arent even as many as an average Kate story.

  26. Antenor – the whole Kadr family, to my knowledge, lives here on welfare. That includes the mother, and the children. I think there are about three children. [Saw the whole gang once, at the Toronto Eaton Centre, shopping].

  27. Per 11:57 a.m. post, quote from the link on family ‘history’:-
    ‘Abdul Karim Khadr, 15
Paralysed from the waist down in the same 2003 battle that killed his father. Returned to Canada in April 2004 to seek medical treatment and is now living in Toronto with his mother’
This one part of the story anyway.

  28. The left and other bleeding hearts think we should bring this piece of jihadi slime back into Canada and try him under our failed justice system, “giving due consideration to the little fellow’s tender years.”
“Among the names listed on the open letter to Harper were former prime minister Joe Clark and former foreign affairs ministers Bill Graham and Lloyd Axworthy….
…In the letter, Amnesty International said Canada’s justice system — not a process “devised by the United States” — should try Khadr for his alleged crimes, “bearing in mind his age at the time the alleged acts occurred.” Khadr was a minor when he was arrested on the battlefield.
NDP justice critic Joe Comartin raised the issue of Khadr’s detention, blasting Canada’s actions so far….
…”Not once has this government, has Canada, protested the use of military commissions nor done anything to get him home. If the British, Australian, French and Germans can get protection from the government, why won’t the Conservatives do something for a Canadian in need at this time?””

  29. Yes, the parents had six children. You can check out the basic details at Wikipedia. There were four boys and two girls. The two girls, which include the eldest daughter (and her child), and the youngest daughter, and the son injured in the fighting in a wheelchair, and another son – may be held by RCMP – unsure)…are all living in Toronto, and on welfare.
There is little choice for Canada on this. They are, legally, Canadian citizens. The fact that they have chosen to fight, as terrorists, against western civilization, is not to my knowledge, considered an offence that strips them of their citizenship. Therefore, they are legally entitled to all the taxpayer funds they can get.

  30. Dions 1st question today in QP was about our boys turning over captured taliban/al quaida guys for continuing mistreatment.Prime Minister Harper replied in rememberance of the two soldiers who died Friday and without missing a beat dion continued his next question about the supposed mistreatment of aq’s & tallies.Iggy was the one who acknowledged Fridays deaths but only as a lead in to continue dions question line.Of course but not unexpected the silk curtain socialist taliban jack continued the same line of question but this time with a child soldier bent.
Instead of worrying about theoretical bitch slapping of the terrorists who are killing our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters ,and fellow countrymen etc these political flotsam opposition leaders should be relegated to the nearest sh*t house. What a disgusting display of hyprocritical opportunists.Bring on an election!

  31. Why would anyone in this country aside form the Leftists give a rat’s ass about what happens to any of the bloody Khadr family?
The whole lot of them are “bad seeds” they come from “bad seeds”. The Mother, tented from head to toe in black appeared on our TV network and said she’d be proud to have her sons martyred for their “cause”.
This is the human sub-species we are harboring at our expense, in more ways than one.

  32. We might just as well run international ads: Attention all terrorists, thugs and Islamists. Welcome to Canada where you can do what you want while supported by the kind-hearted tax-payers.
Round all of them up and ship them back to Muslim lala land.

  33. It’s a tried practice to strip immigrants of their Canadian citizenship if they lied on their applications. Are you telling me there is nothing on Mama Khadr’s application that is out of order?
Of course if someone is a citizen, and wishes to fight against Canada…doesn’t that make her a traitor?
We just need to apply the laws we already have.

  34. Kafir Canada
I wondered about that myself; back in 83 or so were al-Qarda deignated as terrorists or were they taking part in atrocities in A’stan (or elsewhere) making them de facto terrorists? Would living with them and having family members as participants classify in some way as aiding terrorism?
I certainly hope the gov’t does all it can to get rid of all of them and acts swiftly to plug what seems to be a legal loophole.
C’mon guys (in Ottawa), get off the dime here.

  35. 60 Minutes remains the best news-breaker anywhere. FOX News still has nothing like it.
I still find it hard to believe leftists cry and wail daily about Gitmo, while a mere 300 prisoners are being detained there. All that useless bitching about keeping a few hundred murdering terrorists from roaming the earth is kinda reminiscent of Stephan Dion’s passionate cries of freedom for terrorist Omar…

  36. the funny thing is, Gitmo is probably nicer than the conditions they came from.
at Gitmo they have to clean up when they take a dump on the floor. the lawyers call it torture as in most of the middle east taking a dump anywhere is just food for the dung beetles.

  37. What says Canadian Citizenship is written is written in stone? Whatever it is it’s Bull Shit, toss them out.
As for the little bastard in Guantanamo, why is he even there? Let me get this straight, you’re in a war zone and someone tosses a Granada at you and kills one of your buddies and you run over and save him! It’s a classic case of shoot shovel and shut up. I guess the question I really have is did their sensitivity training overtake instinct and gut feeling? Did political correctness and fear of recrimination play a part?
