Saskatchewan Sign Kicking Party

Nov.6 Update – At least some of the students involved were at the campaign office of Terry Alm today to offer their apologies. They will be helping the SaskParty take down signs after the election.

Description: A political party for the youth of Saskatchewan upset that they can’t run for office or vote in the upcoming provincial election …and for any kids that just enjoy kicking politcal party signs.
Also we find it unfair that the Sask Party has 3 times the funding of any other party, so they get all the big signs. We seek to even this out.
Come out, show your support, invite your friends, and kick a few signs

Page info shows:
Andrew Rowan (Aden Bowman Collegiate) Assistant Captain
Taylor Andreas (Aden Bowman Collegiate) Assistant Captain
Brennan Rutherford (Walter Murray Collegiate) Co-Captain of Destruction
Mike Pinder (Aden Bowman Collegiate) Driver
David Fodey (Aden Bowman Collegiate) Co-Captain of Destruction
Will Hamilton (Aden Bowman Collegiate) (creator)
You’ll need a facebook account to access the page. Currently, the group has 59 “members” – most appear to be high school students at Aden Bowman and Walter Murray Collegiate.
If you have kids at these Saskatoon schools, you may recognize some names.
Update“Hey dude, I heard your name on the radio
The owner of the property in the photo above just called John Gormley Live (linked above). He’s a little ticked off. In the comments – “It’s as if they reported themselves to Crimestoppers.”
In a case of the apple not falling far from…. the apple” Do a search on Facebook for [U of Sask Sheaf Editor-In-Chief] Chuck Hamilton. View his friends, and you will see Will Hamilton is listed as his brother. I bet their parents are proud.” (Or it was until Will’s was pulled.)
More at No-Libs.
Update 2 – Now the Canadian Press has picked up the story.
Update 3 – There are NDP family ties to the Fodey kid as well.

  1. I wonder if the penalties under the elections act apply to “youth”?
Clearly these acts are the pre-meditated actions of kids old enough to know what they are doing.

  2. These people have broken a federal law. Should they not be charged? Or are they also above the law like the balance of the NDP campaign…

  3. Of course they should be charged. Nice to see the shallow end of the petri dish is getting even weaker as they document with photo’s and comments their stupidity.

  4. given Jim Fodey’s record thats probably his kid in the picture.
looks like this bunch has declared themselves guilty by making a listing of members and posting pictures. as youth they will declare themselves naive of the law.

  5. Maybe it is an new NDP youth employment/pest removal strategy modified from the old gopher bounty program. Instead of 2 cents for a gopher tail the teens get paid on a per sign destroyed basis.

  6. These boys need a good ol’ prairie style hide whoopin’ and no computer for six months!
Only problem is that their parents are socialists and will only send them to more therapy.

  7. I was that young, once, just trying to remember if I was ever that stupid…oh yeah, I was…

  8. Ha!! love that facebook!…the kids just can’t hold back anything.
Who needs security cameras with these kids proudly doing digitals of their ‘group’ breaking the law?

  9. Hmmmm, seems like a good sentence (If I were the judge) would be 100hours each community service erecting Sask Party signs at their own expense with their negligent parents helping with funding for the signs.

  10. My friends and I made some youthful “indiscretions” way back in a different era. But we sure as hell were scared of getting caught and made detailed plans to avoid it. Not getting caught was where the excitement was. With these guys, leaving their trail of evidence, it appears that they get their kicks from being defiant. Interesting to see if it will all end in tears for them.

  11. Guess these “kids” are not afraid of consequences. There is no fear of their parents or the law.
In my day, everything I did, I knew that I would have to face my DAD!

  12. Cal that’s a good point. When I was a young lad I did get up to a bit of mischief, but the whole point was not to get caught.
And I have always been rather proud to say that I never idolized anything the left had to offer, even in my youth.
I hope these kids get their comeuppance. Maybe they should be forced to install a few hundred signs for the Sask. Party.

  13. Can’t wait until the police become aware of this group. Nothing like breaking the law and then posting evidence of doing it, photos and confessions and the like. Some little buggers are about to wish they’d never used the web.

  14. It is incredibly thoughtful of them to fully document all of their activities and to provide information as to which school they’ll be at today. The police won’t need to gather any information and they won’t have waste any time looking for them.
It’s as if they reported themselves to Crimestoppers.

  15. They are used to not having to deal with consequences from being in high school. Wouldn’t want to hurt junior’s self esteem now would we?

  16. Sounds like the NDP parents are pretty desperate when they get children to do the dirty work that they won’t do because as adults they would be carged.
This NDP tactic is similar to drug dealers using children to do their dirty work.
Sad state of affairs for the NDP to stoop this low.

  17. So, when these idiots get out of college etc and apply for jobs will they put this on their resume. And, if they ever want to run for office will this come back and bite them you know where.
Can’t wait for the cbc to whitewash this, or for jack layton to condem this action on his behalf.

  18. This is another important reason why the Left is on the wane. Most civilized people regardless of their leanings, don’t like thuggery.
The Left has consistently shown itself to be an loose organization of pure criminal thugs, drug and sex deviants at the bottom right up to vicious unionists in the middle ranks and collectivist communist freedom hating elitists at it’s top end.
No normal reasoned person wants these people in charge of a civil society.
So keep it up kids, what you are kicking is your own political party right where it hurts. Works for me.

  19. Let them kick the signs! We (SP) are going to kick their asses so bad on Wed. night, (Nov. 07-07), they won’t know their anus from their eyelids!!

  20. Holy sh*t guys, relax a bit. Did they actually kick the signs over or just pose as if they were about to? I only saw the one pic on here, and beyond that, they’re in fricking high school. What they did was stupid, but you all sound like you’re lusting for blood.

  21. An fitting penalty would be to have the kids wear SP signs (sandwich-style) for a few days. Then have them work at an poll station to learn about the importance of elections in our democracy.

  22. I wonder if the creator of the sign kicking facebook site, Mr. Hamilton is related to another Mr. Hamilton recently profiled by Kate, as the editor in Chief from the Sheaf???

  23. I think we should be praising these youth. They have shown incredible bravery and strength of character by kicking over cardboard election signs. Forget our youth who volunteer at homeless shelters or spend time visiting the infirmed at our local hospitals. These guys are the real heroes. And who can question the brilliant move of posting their destruction on Facebook? Pure genius!

  24. Do a search on Facebook for Chuck Hamilton. View his friends, and you will see Will Hamilton is listed as his brother. I bet their parents are proud.

  25. Publishing their acts on facebook has to be the dumbest thing in a while.
And is this the NDP’s idea of “justice on the streets,” a slogan I keep hearing?

  26. Let’s see here, these aspiring young socialists are happy to brag to the world of their heroic actions. (Who said todays youth aren’t involved in politics) But wait – if one of these future pillars of the protest movement is actually charged with vandalism SDA will have to remove all refrences to said youths so we don’t know who they are. Make sense?

  27. If Brad Wall was smart – and according to messaging I keep reading on SDA, he’s pretty much the second coming of Reagan, Gingrich, Gandhi, and Moses! – he should respond directly to this by meeting with the kids. All partisan boobery aside, I think it’d be a great move. He could publicly say that he hopes the police don’t press charges – and then take the kids to places where their energy could do some actual good: soup kitchens, homeless shelters, an animal shelter, etc.
(For the record, I would have no problem with the kids being charged. Anyone who advertises their crime is simply begging for some justice.)

  28. great work Richad Evans.
so how are they all going to deny that screen capture? I think the dippers got some ‘splainig to do. ma and pa dipper will have to explain the world to the horrid spawn. it their eyes it will be the vast right wing conspiracy after the youthful exuberance expressing their democratic rights.
