WASHINGTON — An accused enemy combatant held at Guantanamo Bay told a military hearing he was physically as well as mentally tortured there by having to read a newsletter full of ‘crap,’ being forced to use unscented deodorant and shampoo and having to play sports with a ball that would not bounce.
Majid Khan of Pakistan denied any connection to Al Qaeda and said he was tortured and his family hounded by U.S. authorities, according to a redacted transcript released Tuesday by the Pentagon.
Khan told an April 15 hearing called to determine whether he was rightly classified as an “enemy combatant” that he also had his baby pictures taken from him, that cleaners left marks on his cell walls and that detainees have no DVD players or other entertainment.
At one point, Kan said he wrote on his walls, “stop torturing me, I need my mails, newspaper and my lawyer.”
Khan was captured in Pakistan in 2003. The military says he has provided support to Al Qaeda and has expressed a desire to assassinate Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharaff. U.S. government authorities have said that Khan was also involved in plots to blow up American gas stations and poison U.S. reservoirs. Dion has no clue about defense policy and doesn’t want to know. He has yet to apologize for smearing Cdn soldiers with allegations of complicity in torture (since disproven), and has shown he will use any group, the military, the mounties, anyone, as pawns and scapegoats in his quest for power.
Good luck, Dionsky. It is clear he doesn’t want election now, or maybe ever. He would rather use negativism and attempt to control parliament from his opposition office. He must be aware that his party is broke, has no ideas, and his misgivings about his leadership, and prospects for power, in the party are being borne out.

Brick up for sale?
Local brewer says it’s at ‘an exciting and important crossroad’ as it opens door for merger or acquisition
MATT WALCOFF
WATERLOO (May 15, 2007)
Having long resisted the wave of takeovers in the Canadian beer industry, Waterloo’s Brick Brewing Co. Ltd. may now be up for sale.
(…)
That part of Brick’s press release matches almost word-for-word a statement released by Sleeman Breweries Ltd. of Guelph last year. Three months later, Sleeman agreed to be purchased by Sapporo Breweries Ltd. of Japan.
(…)
Because Belgian brewer InBev owns Labatt, Brick has been advertising itself as a Canadian-owned alternative to Lakeport.
Brick would have to change its tune if acquired by Golden, Colo.-based Molson Coors.
(…)
Palmer floated Moosehead Breweries Ltd. as another potential buyer of Brick, but Moosehead spokesperson Joel Levesque said his company has decided not to bid on its competitor.
The reason for the sale???:
Ontario taxes brewers at a higher rate as they make more beer, and higher taxes held down company profits last year.
Brick will lose its small-brewer tax reduction entirely this year, so profits are unlikely to pick up again until next year, chief executive officer Doug Berchtold said last month.

The following from an article written by Paul Watson a few days ago. He figures this time we are doomed. All the other end-of-the-worlds did not come to be true. But this one will. Trust him. The spaceship is coming.

“All consumption should be local. No food products need to be transported over hundreds of miles to market. All commercial fishing should be abolished. If local communities need to fish the fish should be caught individually by hand.” PW

Moreover, even that number is misleading; Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels (D) and other global warming alarmists deliberately choose 1950 as the “baseline” for Cascade Mountains snow pack because 1950 was a year of abnormally heavy snowfall resulting…- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1833705/posts

Veritas odium parit. – Truth brings forth hatred. Ausonius.
Red socialist Trudeau’s infamous, “”The state”, Trudeau maintained, ” has no business in the bedrooms of the nation.”, haunts Canadians; to the death.
Merciless, evil, socialism kills everywhere, at all times, by all/any means. The mask is torn off socialism: Death.

Privacy legislation – not always a good thing
Legal history is being made in a Hamilton courtroom this week with the trial of the first Canadian ever to be charged with first-degree murder in an HIV-infection case.

Mr. Clark, acting manager for Toronto public health’s sexually transmitted infections program, said he cannot comment on individual cases, due to privacy legislation.

Nonsense all around. We (using the word loosely) just bought one of the world’s great journalism enterprises. Should the world quiver in fear of Canadian (at least English-Canadian, or multicultural, or multinational, or something) cultural imperialism?

No wonder Patrick Moore told Paul Watson to take a hike. They were founders of Greenpeace
in the 70s.
The following from an article written by Paul Watson a few days ago. He figures this time we are doomed. All the other end-of-the-worlds did not come to be true. But this one will. Trust him. The spaceship is coming.
“We need to radically and intelligently reduce human populations to fewer than one billion.” Paul Watson 05/04/2007
[You first Paul]
//www.seashepherd.org/editorials/editorial_070504_1.html
“We need to stop burning fossil fuels and utilize only wind, water, and solar power with all generation of power coming from individual or small community units like windmills, waterwheels, and solar panels.”, Paul Watson.
[Talk about turning our lifestyle on it’s head !!]
“Sea transportation should be by sail. The big clippers were the finest ships ever built and sufficient to our needs. Air transportation should be by solar powered blimps when air transportation is necessary.” PW
[Forget about your jobs you airline pilots, travel industry types, import and export dependent types, all support industry workers, … does that leave any body to pay taxes ?? To pay for the green’s cushy jobs ??]
“All consumption should be local. No food products need to be transported over hundreds of miles to market. All commercial fishing should be abolished. If local communities need to fish the fish should be caught individually by hand.” PW
[I guess this is how the kyoto-kult types introduce the ‘kool-aide’. Starvation.]
“We need to lower populations of domestic housecats and dogs.” PW
[Here kitty kitty]
“We need to stop flying, stop driving cars, and jetting around on marine recreational vehicles. The Amish survive without cars and so can the rest of us.” PW
[Boring.]
“Curing a body of cancer requires radical and invasive therapy, and therefore, curing the biosphere of the human virus will also require a radical and invasive approach” PW
[Hot tip … buy kool-aide futures]
Like, aww, Patrick Moore, maybe you just over reacted. Ya think ?? Environmentalism was taken over by thr radicals/fanatics in the 80s ?? Naw.
Now we really know what Gore/Suzuki/Dion/Strong have in store for us.

CLIMATOLOGIST FIRED FOR EXPOSING WARMING MYTHS [sic]
[…]
University of Washington climate scientist Mark Albright was recently dismissed from his position as associate state climatologist, just weeks after exposing false claims of shrinking glaciers in the Cascade Mountains, says James M. Taylor, managing editor of Environment and Climate News. According to Albright: At most, according to reliable datasets, the Cascade Mountains snow pack declined by 35 percent between 1950 and 2000. Moreover, even that number is misleading; Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels (D) and other global warming alarmists deliberately choose 1950 as the “baseline” for Cascade Mountains snow pack because 1950 was a year of abnormally heavy snowfall resulting…-

Dion owes Carroll 30,000 big ones, so his job is secure, as neither dion nor the busted liberals can pay him back. Dion also owes 50,000 to another advisor. Nothing like picking the right guy to back with your money. I thought dion was the leader, and made decisions on hiring and firing. Watching iggy in QP, one would really think iggy is the leader.

Seems to me the only way to deal with them is to get between them and their welfare checks.

MayDion’s Dream Team is beset by a metaphor: “camp”, as in Dalton Camp. “Liberal camp” = camp = (style), an ironic appreciation of that which might otherwise be considered outlandish or corny.
Questions: Is MayDion John Diefenbaker? Is MayDion a klingon? Which camp will lose? Who will play Camp? Which camp has Dalton Camp? Will the best camp win? Corny, indeed.
But, the whale is set to blow the Liberal camp out of the water.
