I agree with you, calgary clipper. The problem is, that without those seats in the West and Ontario – and those seats are electorally valid, because the West is currently underrepresented by 11 seats – the Conservatives can’t change the corrupt system that has been set up by the Liberals.
We have a Liberal dominated Senate, of unelected, patronage appointed Senators, living high off the taxpayer, and holding up motions, changing them to the point of irrelevance – and refusing accountability.
We have a judiciary system of activist left leaning judges, viewing themselves as above the legislature’s right to make law.
We have a parliament dominated by the left, who blather on endlessly about generalities, who jump on issues for their emotional content, who manipulate the public for one reason only. Votes.
We have a public brainwashed by a leftist educational system for a generation, steeped in the untenable inanities of multiculturalism, peacekeeping and isolationism.
We have a Liberal party, embedded in its sense of righteousness and actual corruption.
And, the MSM, by and large, the mouthpiece of the left.
So – it’s very difficult to enact change in this country.

Im Western Canada, and particularily B.C. the pine beetle is causing massive damage. The damage to the forest is in the multi billions of dollars.
And this all started in Tweedsmuir Provinical Park back in the early 90’s with a small outbreak that could have easily been controlled, BUT–nothing was done at that time because the envirowackos would have kicked up such a stink. And now, probably the WHOLE pine forests of B.C. and Alberta will be destroyed.
When the big storms in December devastated Stanley Park in Vancouver it was actually quite amusing to watch the tree huggers “shit their collective pants” at all the trees that had blown down.(abouy 1/3 of all the trees) These were the same clowns who wouldn’t let the park cut down 13 trees to allow for expansion of highway thru Syanley Park.

The answer to Bill Kaufmann’s question of why no new refineries have been built in North America (“Ripped off at the pump”) is simple. There was no money in it. Companies which owned refineries were making a cent a litre. They could have made more money selling them and putting the money in a savings account at 3% interest. Except, no one would buy them, because you don’t borrow at 6% to earn 2%. Now they are making a decent return on investment and new refineries are in the works all over. Soon there will be surplus gasoline, and prices will drop five cents a litre, so that the companies only make a cent or two again. Don’t confuse oil company profits with refinery profits. The companies without refineries have bigger profits. If it was so profitable, why didn’t everyone build one before? Why would anyone who believed CO2 was an issue want lower prices anyway?
Has anyone been over to Jasons and taken the AR poll at the top of the page. Wonder if he checks it out. Question, would you vote for Stephen Harper next election Yes 60percent, no 40.
