    I really wish I could share your optimism above. However, with the outright lies by the liberals and the likes of suzuki and the MSM, the average Canuck still thinks the North Pole will wash down Main St. by 2010 if he doesn’t swap his SUV for a Smart Coffin -er, Car.
    I think Eeyore is bang-on in his analysis: Harper must get directly to the people and bypass the biased MSM to get the message out. People really need to know the true and personal cost of following this bogus money laundering scheme, and what it means to our standard of living.
    To say nothing of the fact that if the entire world signed onto Y2Kyoto, the best estimates indicate this would make a 0.04 C difference to the expected global temperature by 2100.
    The word IS out there, but it’s an uphill battle. I heard Oakley on AM640 Toronto talking about how Suzuki sulked off the air yesterday, and there was some good dialogue on bogus computer weather models. But you still have idiots calling in like the one guy who actually said (I paraphrase, but not too much), “David Suzuki is like our Wayne Gretzky of the environment. He’s our Jim Jones, and we should all drink his Kool Aid”.
    I am serious; I almost drove off the road at the Jim Jones analogy. The moron made the world’s best case why we SHOULDN’T even listen to Suzuki, much less slurp away at the poisoned info he’s peddling.
    At any rate, I should follow my wife’s good advice & quit yelling at the radio when this sort of idiocy gets airtime.
    Anyway, I’m confident Harper & Co. have all these facts and are thinking this through very carefully. He’s made some great PR plays in the last year, so I’m pretty confident the CPC handling of Kyoto viz. an imminent election will be strategic, and the right one.

    We the government of Canada will follow the timtable as followed by the previous Liberal regime, with the added significant improvement:
    Opposition members cars not allowed to idle on Parliament hill.
    We are happy to point out this will more then double the greenhouse gas reductions achieved during the previous administration. You are welcome to challenge these figures.

  4. Has dion or any liberal apologized to Canadaians for the Sponsorship Scandal. As far at the attack ads re Goodale, all the conservatives have to do is change one word. Is to Was, and that is the truth. It was under investigation, and there are not too many cdns who think only the fall guy is guilty. Remember the same RCMP who supposedly botched the Arar investigation are the same RCMP who managed the Income Trust investigation.
    However, goodale is taking a page from Arar and threatening to sue over the ads. He better be careful, one never knows who or what will come out in evidence. He should let sleeping dogs lie. By continuing to give legs to this story, we will all remember Scott denying any investigation was going on, refused to say he was being questioned and generally lied to all cdns. How did Martins doctor know to invest and make millions the day before. Too bad we can’t get the names of all those that made money illegally.
    And Harper can say, with a straight face, It depends what your definition of IS is. Worked for Clinton, and the liberals love Clinton. Maybe the conservatives could call him to be witness to explain this.

    Anyone know how the insider trading re income trusts investigation is going by the SEC in the USA. Goodale might not be off the hook yet. Look how long it took to get Martha Stewart, for of all things, selling her own stock in her own company. Didn’t she go to jail.
    What info have the RCMP given the SEC. Goodale, hold off on that lawsuit for a couple of years.
    You and Bisson might not be in the clear yet. I do trust that goodale did not know anything, and was used by those around him.

Bryanr: Wonder if MHF has considered the enormous emotional and financial costs to the family of a victim who has been shot, killed, raped etc when they know the guy out there to repeat the offence. What is the cost of years of medical care, for someone paralyzed. Maybe she should pay all the funeral costs, therapy costs, and explain to the parents, aunts uncles, grandparents, brothers and sisters how sorry she is that her party thinks it is too expensive to keep a person in jail. Too bad the guilty guys family can’t be made to pay for this, if he can’t.
    Rehabilitation does not work for the addict who robs and kills for a fix. Safe injection houses are not rehabilitation.
