The principal of an Islamic school has admitted that it uses textbooks which describe Jews as “apes” and Christians as “pigs” and has refused to withdraw them.
Dr Sumaya Alyusuf confirmed that the offending books exist after former teacher Colin Cook, 57, alleged that children as young as five are taught from racist materials at the King Fahd Academy in Acton.
In an interview on BBC2’s Newsnight, Dr Alyusuf was asked by Jeremy Paxman whether she recognised the books.
She said: “Yes, I do recognise these books, of course. We have these books in our school. These books have good chapters that can be used by the teachers. It depends on the objectives the teacher wants to achieve.”
Don’t be so intolerant. It’s part of their CULTURE to brainwash their young kids to hate Jewish apes and Christian pigs. We must learn to embrace these wonderful different cultures.

Okay, I’m confused… or maybe that should be infuriated.
In the US anyone can literally say anything about any topic, no matter how offensive it is. That Constitutional Amendment is strongly entrenched and defended by American society.
But in Canada, the Supreme Court has already ruled that true Freedom of Speech has reasonable limits for the cohesion of society at large. It is officially a Hate Crime in Canada to publish/distribute materials denying the Holocaust, for example. So why hasn’t some Police organization, Government department, or activist group like B’nai B’rith sued any School Board or organization that deliberately uses books like this one that are patently racist and promote hatred to an identifiable group in society?
I’m absolutely serious here! The Government needs to declare these books as Hate Literature and therefore anyone simply possessing these materials anywhere in Canada is in criminal violation of the law. This is a no-brainer.

Some insight, it is my understanding that pretty much ALL muslims are taught the apes and pigs stuff, because it is quoted right out of their holy book. There is some other unacceptable stuff in there regarding the status of women and non-muslims. In addition muslims are taught that their holy book is perfect in every way and cannot be modified. I believe that is why there are only a handful of muslims who will actually speak out against this sort of thing. Irshad Manji is one of these few and recounts exactly this sort of experience when she attended muslim school.
What do I have wrong about this? And don’t tell me there are a lot of moderate muslims who are against this, because, well, there AREN’T.

I was hoping you could give me some reason to believe that the apes and pigs stuff (and all the jihadi stuff) is a view held only by a tiny minority. My impression so far, based on the public statements available, is that perhaps 99% of muslims are OK with this, or at least not against it.

Lets list some books that some sp interest groups have banned in public schools, because of their content. How about some novels that have been put on a banned reading list. Uncle Toms Cabin and Grapes of Wrath come to mind. So, if these books and certain authors can be banned, why not the true hate books used in terrorist schools.

Every time I see or hear of a new mosque (usually with attached school) being built here I wonder: who is funding it, who is overseeing the curriculum, what is being said at services, etc.?
