Alan Dershowitz’s denunciation of former President Jimmy Carter without getting a sinking feeling. Dershowitz summarizes the huge sums which investigative journalists now say Jimmy Carter received from Arab and Islamic sources. And they are considerable. The Saudis bailed out his peanut farm in 1976. The infamous BCCI and Saudi billionaire Gaith Pharaon actually helped with the startup funding of the Carter Center. Carter himself is quoted fulsomely thanking Sheik Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, the long time ruler of the UAE, for donating half a million dollars. From what is known Carter has received tens of millions of dollars from Arab and Islamic sources. And that, argues Dershowitz, is behind the former President’s tireless campaigning against Israel. He says so in the most brutal and accusatory terms: “Carter … has been bought and paid for by anti-Israel Arab and Islamic money.” But it is one of Dershowitz’s sources, Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, who provides the most food for thought: “seems that AIPAC’s (American-Israel Political Action Committee) real fault was its failure to outdo the Saudi’s purchases of the former president’s loyalty”. The sinking feeling is the realization that this is what political viewpoints might come down to.
In 2004, the former President publicly accused Georgia Democrat Zell Miller of “unprecedented disloyalty” – for the crime of speaking at the Republican convention.
I’m a fan of Dershowitz and Carter…and I believe that Sheik Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan accomplished amazing progress in the Middle East, just ask any of the Canadians living there now.
Why are people surprised whith news that politicians can be bought? The best recent example of this is the scandal with Bill and Hillary Clinton. While her highness was in lobbying to stop an Arab based company from buying US ports her hubby, Bill Clinton, was on that very same company’s payroll acting as an advisor to help lobby in favor of the purchase.

I’ve always stated that I wish Carter an exceptionally long lifespan. Each morning that person awakens and eats a bit more of his own soul with regrets and envy. I wish this process to continue as long as possible, such an incompetent life deserves nothing less.

Sher also links Carter to the Saudi Royal house, as well as Saudi links and financing of The Carter Foundation, which saw many prominent members resign in protest over his latest book.

Imagine that! Palestine compared to the murder of almost a million people in less than a year!
Jimmy does not recognize that Palestine was both an Arab and a Jewish state. He only seems to recognize the Arab. But as any good historian knows Palestine was peopled with Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Check the record of the Jewish Brigade.
As with all hypocrites, he blames the Jews for everything and although he claims his new book is factual, it is replete with errors and ommissions.

It may be that Carter is an anti-semite, it may be that he is growing old and senile or it may be that as his time draws near, he sees his presidency portrayed in it’s true light. The most ineffectual presidency of the twentieth century. The failure of the Camp David Accord, his failure in Iran, his failure in North Korea. His legacy is replete with failure.

Finally, the truth has hit me. Jimmy Carter was a terrible president, (knew that from the beginning) and his legacy is not good. Democrats and media elected him. That is why the democrats and media have been on such a Bush hate. They want to remove Carter as the worst president in history and replace his name with Bush.
I condemn Carter for being on the take. But what about the Bush family and their cozy relations with the Islamofascist-sponsoring Saudis? I agree with you, rightwingprof. Zell Miller spoke right from his heart to mine. I was overwelmed with gratitude and admiration for his honesty. It was an incredable feeling to be so moved by a speech; Zell Miller gave me hope.
