Stephen Harper has just announced that Khan has joined the Conservative caucus.
Showing razor sharp political instincts…

Update… Fierce eyed elfin types are angry, angry, angry! Angry enough to protest a car dealership!
Upperdate … “Wajid Khan Must Resign!” petition hits ground running!

Upperestdate … AIRBRUSHING AT CBC – After getting it wrong – twice – a followup CBC news item has been “cleansed” of any mention of Stephen Taylor.

Khan’s riding association chairman is on board, and skewers the Liberal Party for taking immigrant communities for granted. From the CBC.ca story:
In an interview with the CBC following the defection, riding association president Khalid Sagheer said Khan “is my friend, I support him and I will continue to support him.”
Asked whether backing Khan would mean switching party memberships himself, Sagheer said “that decision will come in due course.”
“I agree with him and my own personal opinion is that the Liberal party has been taking us for granted — immigrants that have worked and supported the party so much, it’s been so far only a one-way street,” Sagheer said.
… at the beginning of the long dash, follow… We, The MotherCorp, will delete…
This is too funny….

It was up to 38 when I signed it as the Liebrano way, speaking with a forked tongue. It is a real hoot, the posts are great, go Jason!
Let’s start a petition for Jason as Liebrano leader. This is sooooooooooooo funny!
I mean, it’s clear that the CPC represents the ethics, religious tenets, and values of most immigrants. And, YES, the Liberals totally take the immigrant community for granted: They’ve been doing it FOR YEARS. All the Libs ever want is “YOUR VOTE,” and to He** with responsibility to the electorate or any accountability.
Good for Wajid Khan for coming to his senses, for admitting that the CPC is the political party that represents his values, and for acting on his convictions.
Wouldn’t it be GR-8 if he opened a floodgate? If most immigrants were to vote their consciences, which is what democratic freedoms are all about, they’d be voting for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his CPC, who embody the values most of them live by: faith, family, responsibility, accountability, etc..
It should be a no-brainer…
Signature 43 is just beautiful –
“43. Bob Rae Debtsville, Ontario – “Anybody who crosses political lines for purely political reasons shouldn’t be in politics. It’s disgraceful.”
And from someone who didn’t bother reading the other names on the petition, Lycan, including #31 Boob Rae of Rosedale, Ontario. (And the second, or so, JT Kirk!)
watchingyou2 makes a completely fatuous comment: “Gee, I bet the formerly stupid, corrupt and ignorant Khan is now an astute, wise and a great Canadian.”
‘Can’t recall any former posts here at SDA calling either Khan or the Liberal Party of Canada specifically “stupid” or “ignorant.”
wy2: The LPC has generally, however, been “corrupt.” It’s a breath of fresh air to see that one of its members has, as I mentioned in the post above, come to his senses. Obviously, the LPC fog has cleared and Wajid Khan can see clearly now.
To err is human, to forgive, divine.
One more feather in the divine CPC cap!
Is it true, that in addition to solving global warming this afternoon, that Dion will next explain that ageless question all North Americans have long wondered?
Why do they sell hotdog buns in 8’s and 12 when weiners are in 12s or sixes?
Thank you Dion????
Dion “On Loyalty”: A Decomposition by/of a Librano$. Dion’s swansong…. Au revoir, Stephane…-
Dion: “As a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, I was never comfortable with Mr. Khan serving as an advisor to a Conservative Prime Minister, as Mr. Khan has done since August of last year.
As Leader of the Party, I felt it imperative that he decide to which party he would ultimately be loyal. Mr. Khan has now made that decision.”
Excerpt from Citoyen Dion’s swansong (short) at
http://liberal.ca/news_e.aspx?type=news&id=12162
The Mole has all the past Librano$ PMs up with Citoyen in the muddle of the pack. It’s a keeper.
…-
… and where were you, Stephen?
““Like millions of other Canadians, I was glued to the television this afternoon to watch our outstanding young hockey players take on Russia in the gold medal match,” the Prime Minister said. “Our players thoroughly dominated their opponents and demonstrated the tenacity and determination that make Canada a hockey superpower.”
LOL !!!
this is a scene right of of Orwell’s 1984 where the protagonist’s job is to revise newspaper clippings to jive with the new view.
LOL !!!
Andrew Coyne writes about loyalties and quotes Dion:
“You can’t have a foot in the government and a foot in the opposition,” Dion told reporters yesterday.
And Coyne writes: “No, indeed. The idea’s absurd. It’s like, I don’t know, being Prime Minister of one country and a citizen of another.”
Exactly, Mr. Dion. You want to be a Prime Minister of Canada and yet a citizen of France. How’s that for a two-step dance of loyalty?
The petition just gets funnier.
The Angus Reid poll Jason linked to seems to be going horribly wrong as well.
Great petition! I think my favorite was Volpe’s comment – in all the five boroughs…
That petition is classic humor. If you have not been there , do go. Its great fun.
CTV poll has also been consistent all day (roughly 56%-44%) indicating that Khan’s move to the Tories would hurt the Liberals. The honeymoon is over for Dion. Lets see if Taber and Oliver ask him some tough questions this Sunday on QP. My guess is not likely.
The petition is great fun, wondering if Cherniak learned a lesson from this folly.
I think you guys are being a little ruff on JC woof woof. grr
18 months ago the liberals defeated a bill that would have made floor-crossers run in a by-election.They voted 132 against,1 for. At the time they could not entertain the possibility that anyone would ever leave the natural ruling party. This is sweet.
“UPDATE: CBC has deleted the entire paragraph.”
I wonder if CBC redoes their news stories in Times New Roman?
at angus reid there is a poll asking if you think Dion will be the next PM. Currently at 69%=NO, and 31%=yes.
http://rm.angusreidforum.com/?cid=48&rs=GgEnSD
Try this again. Poll at Angus reid asking if Dion will be next PM. Currently 69%=NO and 31%=Yes.
sorry can’t post the link
Nice of Cherniak to have link to Angus Reid poll linked on his petition! And I do love how poll is looking..I think the more Canadians get a closer look at Dion, the more they will come to realize how incapable he is,especially put side-by-side with PMSH.Can’t wait for a debate between them, but more looking forward to Baird chew Dion up,and spit him out.It will be delightful!
ahh man, Cherniak deleted all our clever signatures from the petetion!
no comparison: Belinda to Khan !!
Belinda thinks with her vagina not head head
Khan thinks wih his heart and head !!
SHE IS THE WRITER OF THE ‘PINK BOOK FOR WOMEN’ FOR THE LIEBERALS.
give a break !!!!!
Whatever Taber, Goar et al think matters not a whit.
The few people who do consult the MSM already know it is partisan and unbalanced. They don’t get to decide elections, a la “Absent Mandate,” where elections are horseraces with the issues decided by the MSM.
Goar can spout her Pee Wee Herman philosophy “I know you are but what am I” all she wants. When they go after Harper, they betray what they actually think of Dion and his “dream-on” team.
It is Dion who is an out of touch martinette. He is the one who is quick to anger, from what I have seen. The Chretien Liberals can run Canada from the PMO, but when Harper sets out priorities and then takes them to parliament, he is dictatorial!
Bring it on Dion; can’t wait to watch your performance in an election. My prediction – he and his backpack will be gone after the next election.
As Pak Student prez, personally I do not really have a problem with him crossing over, because after all, Dion did put significant pressure on him, and that publicly in a manner that I taught was inappropriate.. Also just because you are part of a party does not really mean you have to agree with each of their policies, you do after all get an independent vote on issues when brought forward…my only grievance is that I foresee the only MP with a Pakistani background not sticking around in Parliament next time elections come around… I really do not think the Pakistani community, who were so excited to have an MP that can relate to their needs, would look upon his defect too kindly,, maybe if was to NDP or even the Greens they would be ok with it, but definitely not the Conservatives…anyhow Mr Khans going to have to campaign harder to the other demographics in his riding if he wants to retain his seat next time elections come around
Is it still necessary for an immigrant to have 10,000 dollars on arrival in Canada, as it was back in the 70s. Ever wonder where those 3rd world people got that kind of money. It was decided that it would be easier to process potential immigrants in their country of origin. Many customs officers, and immigration officers were sent to those countries to do this. But, most had no money, so our wonderful liberal govt loaned it to them, with the condition they must vote liberal, and not have to pay back the money. They were told if a conservative govt got in, they would demand repayment or be deported. Hasn’t happened. I was working for canada customs when this was in place. This amount was paid per person, not per family. I know of one lebanese man, who married an Alberta girl, years after coming to Canada, who has said his family of 7 got 70,000. and never repaid one cent. It has taken years for these people to get the nerve up to vote other than liberal. Many of the officers involved are reaching retirement, and some of them will probably publish somewhere the copies of cheques, etc. that they made to prove this. One wonders how much of that money was redirected to liberal mps in Toronto. Hasn’t anyone wondered how these destitute people, earning 3.00/day/month got the money to buy businesses, hotels, restaurants and other assets, so soon after arriving in Canada, or how long they had to save to get the 10,000 to come in the first place. Our immigrants have been blackmailed by the liberals for years.
