  1. Too bad Chavez won, but not surprising, considering the amount of dough he spreads around…watch for much closer ties with the middle east, and the commencement of the muslimification of Venezuela.

  2. Chavez won? Big surprise. Being a dictatorial leftist, he naturally utilized his state apparatus to brainwash the unwashed masses into thinking he’s a good leader and all that rot. Probably the voting was fixed, like with Saddam Hussein and with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Chavez is a little twit. Thinks he’s a big guy, but really! Sucking up to the real big baddies won’t make him any bigger. He’ll forever be a sidekick to the baddies of the world- probably gonna hand toilet paper to Ahmadinejad and Jung Il in exchange for acknowledgement of his existence. Little pathetic leftist booger.

  3. Does anyone serously think he won fair & square lol? If they thought they where poor before .
After this commie takes utter control, they will be completley destitute. Watch as well, for all the people that will go missing as in Argentina & Cuba.
There dying time has just begun.

  4. Nice having an election in a dictatorship. You can ignore all those pesky little details such as the secret ballot; neutral poll observers; not censoring the media; not preventing media access by opponents; not killing any opponents, etc.
Chavez’s landslide isn’t quite as good as Kim Jong-Il’s 100% or Saddam Hussein’s 99.75%. He’ll have to work on that for his next “overwhelming re-election victory”. But meanwhile he can probably still get a hearty congratulations and endorsement from Jimmy Carter, the US’s biggest Useful Idiot.

  5. sarge here. you folks don’t know too many venezuelans, do ya? they is split into the white spanish looking minority anti chavezitas and the poor indians who wuz there 1st. sarge can’t help but admire the little indian captain. like or hate his policys, one thing for sure, he’s brilliant, and he’s got george W. Bush’s number. he got all that oil little george wants so bad, and might put some backbone in OPEC. not too many have survived CIA coup attempts in the south, much less got re-elected. VIVA CHAVEZ!

  6. I don’t why people get into a twist over Venezuala. How they run their own country is their own business. The continent has had more than its fair share of western (well mainly US) backed coups and the track record of such entanglements is pretty damn ugly.

  7. So when’s Hugo-Hitler signing onto Kyoto?
@Jose: none of us are fans of coups whether its the US backed ones from the 80s or the Soviet ones.
However in this day and age, when a leader starts talking about “extending his term” that’s when normal people get nervous….
Admit it, you just like him because he’s a “left-wing” dictator.

I wish you would listen to what people say and watch how they act, instead of looking at the color of their skin and jumping to conclusions. Hugo may be an aboriginal but his M.O. is pure, lily-white, European style, Marxist demagoguery and brutality.
If this clown continues in the same direction then the Indians who support him will end up as badly as the peasants that got sucked in by Lenin, Mao and Pol Pot.
But I don’t want to see a CIA-engineered coup or any other kind of interference by outside governments. The best approach for outside governments is to be absolutely silent and neutral on the “little indian captain”, to deprive him the use of a foreign bogeyman on which to deflect criticism. Communist regimes always generate a large part of their political and psychic energy from the overt threats made against them by other countries. Leave them alone and they shrivel up and blow away in the wind when all their ridiculous little plans for nationalizing every cow and banana tree fail to deliver anything.

  9. As with all lefty thugs, he who owns the networks, controls the debate. Like Putin’s Russia, Chavez controls the airwaves. The opposition was allowed 2 minutes per day while Chavez had a 5 hour weekly program during the pre-election.
    His next major move:
” Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez backed the possibility of holding a national referendum, if he’s re-elected, on whether to shut down private television stations that he has accused of subversive activities.”
    iht.com/articles/ap/2006/12/01/america/LA_GEN_Venezuela_Media.php
As despicable are the weasley little English speaking pro-fascists that support thugs like Chavez.

….sarge thinks this is pretty funny since everyone knows it is the opus dei supported minority “spoiled brats” who own 90 private media in venezuela-the tv news is wholly owned by them that wants the oil money back to the spanish ones, as it had been in the past. even the full blown batshit crazy miss penny knows better…though miss penny seems confused as to whether sarge is profacist or pro commie like chavez
