ANALYSIS: Launching a rocket at Ashkelon is an invitation to war

The firing of a rocket from the Gaza Strip to Ashkelon’s center on Tuesday constitutes an unequivocal invitation by Hamas to war. The Palestinians who launched the rocket apparently are members of the Hamas military wing, but it’s quite possible that either an Iranian or Syrian element interested in intensifying the military conflict with Israel spurred the move. The firing is the longest-range rocket attack to have taken place from Palestinian territory. Rockets previously have hit Ashkelon’s outskirts, and were generally aimed at the area’s power station, but Israel refrained from cutting off electricity to Gaza. It’s quite possible that…

Shakespeare: Julius Caesar, 1601. After Caesar’s murder Anthony regrets the course he has taken and predicts that war is sure to follow.
ANTONY:
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter’d with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar’s spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch’s voice
Cry ‘Havoc,’ and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial. …-

Kate, what do you think of Don Dawson standing guard over the Memorial, to protect it from being desecrated again?
Here is the story.
Thanks for the story about two journalists, or should I say ‘journalists’, who are betraying their duty to report facts and are instead, making up their stories and presenting them to the public, as factual. So much for Canadian MSM integrity.
LOL !!!
volpe cant keep the money so now he wants to make damm sure no one else can get any contributions from a groundswell of 17 yr old political savvies giving up their month’s proceeds from a paper route !!!!
thank YOOOOu volpe for showing your real colors this early in the game !!!
LOL!!!!
Bookmarked John’s new blog already. Looks good so far and I wish him luck.
I see (from Nealenews) that Manitoba Lotteries Corp are trying to reneg on a casino payout saying it was a software problem. Funny how there is never a problem when they take in our money.
Quoting Kate: “There is something seriously wrong with our young.”:
And no wonder why!!! Syncrodox, your language belongs in the basement – there’s no “elevated discourse” there, folks. Young people may be reading and what an example you set! At least Kate’s issued warnings about ‘language problems’ but they obviously are dismissed in your version of heated debate.
It seems to me the over the top profanity has targeted legitimate english words (ideologies) like conservative, liberal, green et.al. Go back to their root meanings and how about ELEVATING them now assigned to gutter status.
Kudos to Steved — his staying power, patience, endurance, debating and negotiating skills. This individual whoever he is should apply to refooooormed UN.
ET I thought he went home after asteroid near miss last night. He’s here and he’s onto something.
Maz2: You’ve seriously disappointed me for first time — no URLs (pearls) referring to U.S. conservatives “hunting down” fellow citizens’ children?
Kate, just the facts, Ma’am. Accuracy of same, integrity of presentation is ‘smart media.’ Smart PR for that matter. I mean it can’t be ONLY about the profit margins folks.
And the banned Davidson (we’re all alice in wonderland trolls here) you sir, are no gentleman. Any email can be targeted. Some conservative forum hacked my computer within first month of use.
You know the internet highway doesn’t HAVE TO DEGRADE TO THIS LEVEL.
Now you all smarten up your socks so to speak. Use forum for emerging pressing issues seeking solutions.
Wow! Me thinks canadiana has some issues. Damn tinfoil hat won’t stay on.
Me thinks Canadiana doesn’t know how to click on a link. It’s not my quote.
Looks to me Davidson came back as Canadiana.

Let me be fundamentally clear™ about this: the problem is:

Mindless reading seen as fundamental

Better pay attention, reader. This whole story may be a blur. For the first time, researchers have demonstrated the ill effects of mindless reading – a phenomenon in which people take in sentence after sentence without really paying attention. Ever read the same paragraph three times? Or get to the end of a page and realize you don’t know what you just read? That’s mindless reading. It is the literary equivalent of driving for miles without remembering how you got there – something so common many people don’t even notice it. In a new study of college students, researchers from…-

Methinks Canadiana should stop impersonating Canadianna.
Canadiana, the moniker is taken. Using one n rather than two doesn’t excuse you for the copyright infringement. Besides, Canadianna is definitely not a leftist.
Premier Klein is a past master of focus. His appraisal of Liberal health policy is a classic quote; worthy of inclusion in the Encyclopedia Canadiana, to wit:
“I don’t need this crap,”
The writer says it’s a $1,400 eye popper. Aye. …
Auction of Liberal policy book thrown by Klein gets $1,400 for youth shelter
CanWest News Service via National Post 2006-07-05
The bidding has closed and an otherwise innocuous Alberta Liberal health policy paper has sold for an eye-popping $1,400 — the proceeds of which will go to an Edmonton youth shelter.
The booklet was the centre of a political embarrassment for Premier Ralph Klein in March when he tossed it at a 17-year-old legislative page during a testy exchange at the provincial legislature. The actual document was auctioned off on EBay.
The Liberal policy booklet prompted an outburst that was heard across the country. The Liberals sent a copy to the premier during question period in the legislature. “I don’t need this crap,” the premier exploded, throwing the book and striking the legislative page who delivered it. Mr.Klein later apologized…

World’s Dumbest Columnist[Not Canadian(n)a]: Terrorists in the White House
The world’s dumbest mainstream media columnist, Antonia Zerbisias, helpfully informs the moonbat readers of her “blog” that The terrorists have won … and are in the White House. (Hat tip: WriterMom.)
Allow me to summarize:
Right-wing echo chamber … New York Times good … Bush regime … Bushies … jihad on the media … Robert Scheer … I hate you daddy! …
Blah.
Not you, Maz. Canadiana. She’s so blah. Another leftist full of herself.
Have you noticed that the MSM is now using the word “Muslim”. However, the MSM trips over the word “insurgent”.

Thousands fleeing fighting in Philippines
Posted by Ernest_at_the_Beach
United Press International, ^ | July 5 | staff
MANILA, Philippines, July 5 (UPI) — Reports from the southern Philippines say some 3,000 people have fled their homes amid fighting between government troops, militias and Muslim insurgents. The fighting in Maguindanao province over the past week left more than 40 people dead, The Manila Times reported Tuesday. It also endangered negotiations between Manila and the Moro National Liberation Front. Those long-standing talks were expected to produce a final peace accord by September. New reports say the MNLF has blamed military backed militias loyal to the provincial governor for the violence, which they claim was in retaliation for a roadside…

It doesn’t matter what party you belong to — this is hilarious.
>From a show on Canadian TV there was a black comedian who said he
misses Bill Clinton. “Yep, that’s right – I miss Bill Clinton! He
was the closest thing we ever got to having a black man as
President.
Number 1 – He played the sax.
Number 2 – He smoked weed.
Number 3 – He had his way with ugly white women.
Even now? Look at him … his wife works, and he don’t! And, he gets
a check from the government every month.
Manufacturers announced today that they will be stocking America’s
shelves this week with “Clinton Soup,” in honor of one of the
nations’ most distinguished men. It consists primarily of a weenie
in hot water.
Chrysler Corporation is adding a new car to its line to honor Bill
Clinton. The Dodge Drafter will be built in Canada.
When asked what he thought about foreign affairs, Clinton replied,
“I don’t know, I never had one.”
The Clinton revised judicial oath: “I solemnly swear to tell the
truth as I know it, the whole truth as I believe it to be, and
nothing but what I think you need to know.”
Clinton will be recorded in history as the only President to do
Hanky Panky between Bushes.”

Kate, just wondering how much you’ve read the ‘Taking Canada Back’ – it starts out looking very good, well designed, and polished, and some of the details I can agree on – but then there’s the crazy NWO / Illuminati conspiracy stuff :
“… These puppet masters are headed up by a small group of inbred, ultra-secretive, fabulously wealthy families around the world … part of the top 13 Illuminati bloodlines … When the New World Order you should think of these people. Their objective is a one world government and borderless countries where no individual freedoms exist…. ”
Just curious if you endorse this particular world view?
Just as an addendum –
Most of the stuff in the ‘Canada Agenda’ section is extremely reasonable and well-stated, and I agree with just about everything save the trade protectionism and environmental measures … the NWO / Illuminati stuff just took me by suprise.

Agreed RL: A little conspiracy kookiness can ruin the best party…
RL. Just caught your comments. If you don’t mind I’ll reply. I began to research the history of Canada and America about a year and a half ago and I would not have believed what I found if others had told me. I was extremely surprised.
I debated with myself about putting these details in and decided to mention them in one place only. I do plan to flesh this out further in the blog at some point and I hope you will consider what I’ve said. I’m not a conspiracy nut. I’m extremely right wing and a supporter of both Canada and America.
Some info I’m going to post is about the boards of many multinational corporations. I researched probably 30 or so in energy, transportation, defence, etc. and found the same names popping up. I then researched these names and was able to connect about half of them to a handful (a large handful) of families around the world either by blood or marriage. Some by who they work for as well. I’m not suggesting anything here as I know the best people are often on the boards of several corporations. But it just caught my eye. So then I continued my research. When you read the writings of historians, professors, and top investigative journalists from many countries you begin to connect some dots. I’ve connected quite a few but I’m not finished yet.
In the meantime, in my mind there has to be a reason why otherwise brilliant people do certain things that do not benefit them directly or the people they represent.
Thanks for the comments and thanks for taking the time to read what I’ve written. I certainly don’t expect everyone to agree with me and my main objective is really to get a good debate going. I hope to learn more as this goes forward as well.
