” for many Americans the proof that the president’s policies are working will be when all the U.S. soldiers are back home. More than 1,400 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq and recent polls suggest public support for the U.S.-led war is sliding.
Senator Ted Kennedy says the time has passed for the soldiers to remain there. “We have long reached the point that a prolonged American military presence in Iraq is no longer productive for either Iraq or the United States,” he said.
