Donald Rumsfeld is staying on in the position of US Secretary of Defense. The architect of the modernization and transformation of the US military, a survivor of the attack on the Pentagon on 911, Rumsfeld has conducted two successful – and by all historical standards, virtually bloodless – wars, and in so doing, helped to liberate over 50 million people from tyranny.
The leader of Canadian Party Of Peace (TM) could not be reached for comment. A spokesperson said that she believed he was “out buying balloons.”

Kate, that was a photoshopped newspaper page worthy of Jeff Goldstein. I thought it was serious until I got to the last two paragraphs. It is a joke, right???

At least there would have been more then enough hot-air to inflate that “9 metre” balloon. 🙂
Dear Jack ,you’re obviously concerned that the American left will get this year’s Oscar for meanigless, obscurantist street theatre so you’re pulling out all the stops. Jack, you’re no Berthold Brecht, but with some intensive workshopping you’lll pull it off. I see it now, not one baloon,thousands, and, yah,, one hundred cardboard missiles all pointed at the U.S. and face painting, that’s it.
Jack, I know that having Tommy Douglas win the CBC’s Most Overrated Canadian award gave you a big tingle but maybe its time to take the party that was born in a Church basement back to the basement for a much needed think session. Thinking, you know what that is don’t you?
