Your Government Is Here For You, Inc

CBC;

“A $50 million class action lawsuit was launched against Revera earlier this month on behalf of the families of COVID-19 victims at the company’s long-term care facilities in Ontario. The company is being sued for negligence and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs allege the facilities lacked “proper sanitation protocols and adequate testing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

The statement of claim also alleges Revera did not properly inform residents or families of any measures it was taking to keep its facilities safe. The allegations against Revera have not been tested in court and the application still needs to be certified by a judge.

Another $25-million class-action lawsuit has been filed against Revera over its operation of the McKenzie Towne Continuing Care Centre in Calgary, where COVID-19 killed 21 residents and infected 63 others as well as 44 employees. The suit, which has not been certified, alleges the company was negligent and did not follow proper protocols to prevent the outbreak.

PSP Investments reports to Parliament through Treasury Board President Jean-Yves Duclos, who ultimately is responsible for the Crown corporation.

The company’s board of directors is appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet through orders in council.”

More: If you’re wondering why troops became whistle blowers… they were deeply concerned nothing was going to be done about the conditions they were reporting. They didn’t understand why the federal govt had not moved given the May 14th letter.

  1. This gives me a hope that Canadian army will refuse to fire at the gun owners during the pending confiscation raids.
If only this blog had more than a handful of conservative followers!

    1. Outting the Liberano Chi com mullahs is as close to a coup as I could ever imagine in this country.

The privy council and PMO office will be furious

  2. The Feds can easily afford to pay out $75M to C19 victims; after all they gave Omar the child soldier $10M. When’s my turn?

    1. Sure, it comes right out of our pockets. Win or lose, the government feels absolutely no pain when involved in a lawsuit.

  3. JustUN has always been about the numbers, letting as many in as possible and this approach, which seems aimed at accelerating his precious demographic changes. Disgusting and needs criminal charges.

JustUN wants you to know, he’s shocked and angered at this..

    1. Agreed. I’m no fan of firing squads per se, but it pains me to see these evil people get fines or sanctions (which they pay with other people’s money). It’s like fining a drug dealer and letting him pay a couple days worth of sales before he gets back to the same old same old. (SNC Lavalin for example). These “friends of parliament” need to be marched into a lengthy prison sentence.

It would be nice to see these lawsuits drain the PSP investment company of ALL of it’s funds.

Problem with crown corps is that taxpayers hold ALL the liabilities – not the parasites in charge.

  4. As much as the government helped kill off the elderly and is not even waiting for them to be in their graves before replacing them, the post-modern West helped by devaluing all human life.

    So there’s that.

  5. Don’t worry, 50 cent Justin will be pretty free and easy with other people’s money. He will spare no expense to keep his friends from feeling uncomfortable.

  6. Good on the soldiers for doing the right thing. There’s not much of canada to be proud of, but it’s very heartening to hear of the military standing up for the citizens in this country. Politicians/bureaucrats, city/provincial police and RCMP across the country should take note of what it means to serve your fellow man. As a bonus, they might find they sleep easier and feel better about themselves if they followed these brave soldier’s examples.

A huge thanks from me to those that did the right thing!

Now let’s see if the politicians/police/judiciary can follow up or if they revert to burying the truth and protecting the guilty. (so far it looks like their initial attempts at burial have failed…second chance to get it right)

  7. If only the law suits were against the directors that Justin appointed and they all had to pay out of their own pockets. The funny think is I hear people calling for the nationalization of the seniors care centers. Like Hello?!?!

  8. Doug Flattens the Curve – A Play in Two Parts

Act I – Early March in Doug’s Office
Doug: “How bad is it going to be? Tell me your expert opinion!”
Expert: “Even in the best-case scenario, if everyone follows instructions perfectly, on April 19th Ontario will peak and require 1,200 Intensive Care Unit hospital beds. Worst case that day is 1,900 ICU beds and rising rapidly.”
Doug: “Hold my beer and watch this.”
    Expert: “Huh?”
Doug: “Look. We all know who’s vulnerable. The elderly, and people with pre-existing medical conditions. Elderly folks with pre-existing conditions are the worst case.”
    Expert: “True.”
Doug: “The really sick ones are all in nursing homes.”
Expert: “Yes! We should prepare to evacuate them to hospitals if they get the virus!”
Doug: “Are you crazy? I have to flatten the curve. To do that we need to keep them IN the homes and OUT of the ICU beds. ICU beds are expensive and these folks are goners soon enough anyway.”
Expert: “That’s cruel! Won’t the public rise up in outrage?”
Doug: “Nah. They’ll be too busy doing the Wuhan Hokey Pokey Dance. We’ll change the steps every week to keep them distracted.”
Doug singing: “Put your flu mask in, take your flu mask out, do the hokey pokey and social distance more … or less … close this … open that … dance little monkeys, dance!”
Expert: “Hah hah hah! I love dancing monkeys.”

Act II – April 19th in Doug’s Office
Expert: “Got to hand it to you, boss. You didn’t just flatten the curve, you steamrollered it into a pancake. Only 264 ICU beds are occupied today! Makes me look like a big fat idiot for being so wrong.”
Doug: “This is a great accomplishment for the folks of Ontario! I told you it wouldn’t have been possible if we’d opened the doors of the nursing homes. Think of all the health care dollars we’ve saved. In our system, the only way to control costs is by rationing access, and boy oh boy did I ever. The people of Ontario will thank me later.”
Expert: “What if they find out that their loved ones have been dying in squalor, alone, filthy, and crying for help?”
Doug: “Hopefully, we can keep them locked down and distracted until after I’ve been re-elected.”
    Expert: “Hah hah hah!”
    Doug: “Hah hah hah!”

  9. Just how long do we have to pay for Sophie’s nannies while there doing their divorce thing?

  10. To paraphrase a Liberal election ad:
“Soldiers. In nursing homes. In Canada. I’m not making this up.”

  11. “They didn’t understand why the federal govt had not moved given the May 14th letter…”

CF personnel understand very well why the federal government had not moved. They know it is the way of the government to do very little while trying to do less.

  12. “Nursing home” is the wrong term for long term care facilities. Commenters here should volunteer their time and good intentions to help in LTC institutions before venturing an opinion on what goes on there. In my experience I found the “homes” to be underfunded and therefore understaffed – often one registered nurse for dozens of residents. Worse, some residents are in a condition where they require 24 hour monitoring – an impossibility at current staffing levels. I observed that few of the residents had frequent visitors and of those almost none lent a hand with caring for their “loved ones'” needs; where are the families? There are some callous “It’s a job” employees for sure, but are they that way by nature or because society has dumped the most needy elderly on them and turned its back while they try to cope?

Instead of wearing “I care” ribbons, those virtue signalers should demonstrate their caring by volunteering their time and by advocating for more funding. Those old folks built this wealthy world that we now take for granted; can’t we all show our appreciation by ensuring that they get better care?
