  1. I quite like all the Persian-Americans I’ve met. Most of them in the 1980’s after Jimmy Carter successfully helped depose the Shah. But also some of my daughters friends at UCLA (there are LOTS of them at UCLA). I pray for the Iranian people … esp. all who identify as Persians rather than RADICAL Islamic nutbars.

PS … I predict Trump will do NOTHING in response to this half-assed, half-hearted “retaliation”. It’s rather transparent in its intent. To assuage the bug-eyed Islamists trampling each other to death in the streets shouting “Death to the great Satan” … done. Now go back to starving under the stress of the sanctions.

    1. Westwood Blvd, from Pico Blvd. to just south Of Wilshire Blvd., is known as “Little Persia.” Not “Little Iran,” not ever. I used to walk through there quite often when I still walked to Pauley for the basketball games. It is quite a prosperous area with many upscale restaurants.
It is a sad fact that the left has captured the national conversation. Older immigrants, those who had escaped totalitarian rules in their home countries, like in the 50’s from Hong Kong (like myself), or Cuba, or the 70’s from South Viet Nam, or Persia, are staunchly anti-Communist in particular, or totalitarian in general (such as the Persians.) Not so much their children, and definitely not their grand children. They fall into the trap of victimhood, believing themselves as suffering “people of color”, oppressed by the very American majority that gave them, or their fathers and grandfathers, refuge and opportunity for a new life in a country that owe them nothing, except perhaps for the policies of the liberals that caused the rise of totalitarians in their home countries. Ironically, most of them endorse those very policies which drove their parents or grandparents from those home countries.

    1. Religious freedom is not a big seller in Iran.
I had plenty of neighbours who fled Iran for a variety of reasons; all reasonably decent people who weren’t given a choice. Leave or face extreme retribution…

    2. And soon be a death sentence in America if the democrats ever get full control again. And Nancy Pelosi in NOT a catholic, she is nothing but an evil entity.

  2. Tis the way of the left, laud evil violent people and dismiss rational moral people.

    1. “DEMOCRATS – OK with killing unborn babies, NOT OK with killing convicted murderers.”

  3. We had an Iranian in our service club and he gave a talk on Iran. Although born there his family moved early in his childhood and he was raised in Vancouver. His family moved to Canada because of the oppressiveness of the mullahs. His family were believers of the old Persian faith Zoroastrian. Islam has systematically erased this religion from Iranian society. Shia or Sunni makes no difference. They are both intolerant and predatory in their ultimate goal of world Islam.

  4. That woman is refreshing. It doesn’t matter where you are from or what color you are or how silly your name might sound, if you have the right attitude and no rabid death to whomever, politics …. we can all work together … except from the American far left, they need to drink Hemlock.
