A new Big Bang is brewing – unimpeded climate activists are assuming control and demanding a truly impossible energy transition. Things are about to get wild

…Be perfectly clear on this: the irresponsible actions of our politicians, who brainlessly stood there, agreeing to the climate change narrative – and the police, who gave the delusional activists free rein – have set the stage for a much wider anarchic show. What will stop them? Who will stop them? We are about to reap what we have sown. Read on…

    1. “Have you not heard. Canada is Post National. No matter who wins the election”
Watcher…. You are right and this is all because the GREAT Pier’ T. foisted Multi-Culturism on us back in the early 60’s, and the sheeple thought he was a god and wonderful. We are now experiencing what his idiot step son is trying to finish. And this is why Justin should not be re elected to run this country… Steve O

  1. The 5 senior members of the UN need stand together and abolish the UN full stop… The UN and their agenda of Communist Global control are the enemy of every Nation….

    JMHO

  2. Terry… you’re surprised that the unionized police officers protected the protestors? “negotiated” an early stand down from the protest?

It’s theatre, and spin, though the danger remains.

Hopefully the climate whatever crowd is emboldened by the police protection. I hear a real winter is on the way.

  3. Oh, wild like when the OPP was guarding the Indians from the racist white people in Caledonia, taking rocks and bottles on the backs of their helmets while the horrible white people stood around and took pictures? That all pretty much came to nothing, when all is said and done. Except for the lingering suspicions and bad feelings. That’ll hang on for a generation.

You worry too much, Terry. The problem Redmonton has is idiots live there and vote for this stuff. When it gets inconvenient, the idiots will all get angry and vote for something else. Let those dozen clowns close the bridge every day for a month, then see what happens.

    1. Say what you like about the Hong Kong police and their actions against the demonstrators, it at least enforces the law, regardless of how unjust or ridiculous that law may be.

      1. Hong Kong is what happens when the government stops protecting the demonstrators and starts arming counter-demonstrators.

Hong Kong is that uprising thing I was talking about below, where the people arrest the cops. It can certainly happen.

  4. This will only happen in the Canada, US, and Europe. The rest of the world will be using oil for a longer time than we will.

    1. That’s the idea—to bring the West’s development to a halt long enough for China to overtake us, economically and militarily, and ultimately conquer the West and enslave or exterminate its peoples.

The people in charge in the West are well aware of the plan. They’re taking Chinese trophy wives for a reason. They want their heirs and successors to be Chinese.

      1. They’re taking Chinese trophy wives for a reason.

Some of those trophy wives might be working for Beijing. What better way to have access to trade secrets and financial data than to marry someone who happens to work with that information.

  5. Now, if people who are supposed to go to work are docked the pay they would have earned if they were not impeded by protests, there would miraculously be no protests (or no protestors without some kind of “souvenir”).

In other words, you can be as Lefty-Loving as you like, but when it hits you in the pocketbook, party is over.

    1. Stuck in Vancouver. Hope Kate doesn’t mind.
Curious about why you feel “stuck in Vancouver”.

I’ve been here for 40 years and have only very recently started considering a move as I am retired, financially secure and therefore not stuck. Would be interested in your reasons.

      1. Grew up in the Okanagan. Worked in the woods before going to uni. I know where my veggies, meat, paper, and metal comes from and the people who provide such. Folks in Vancouver, not so much and willing to virtue signal themselves to economic suicide. Stuck here because kids ready for uni in a couple of years and if that was not the case would have moved. Plus I am retiring in a couple of years and present employment is setting me up for retirement, then moving back to Hooterville.
Stuck because I have been around long enough to see hot summers and rampaging forest fires same or worse than today and when I point it out to my colleagues they give me the “are you denying the climate emergency?” look.
Well, I worked for fedgov collecting some of the same data that gets tortured/manipulated beyond belief to get the “as desired” temperature projections and basically tell them. “Yup”. Being surrounded by people who are extremely educated but extremely ignorant is a firm basis for feeling stuck.
You really want to get away from it Me No Dhimmi, find yourself some nice property in the Oyama area. You won’t regret it. If you golf, give Predator Ridge some consideration.

        1. Used to vaca at the Owl’sNest. Lovely area, warm water.. Watched Skins at Pred Ridge.. Lucky guy.

        2. THANK YOU Stuck in Vancouver. That reports aligns well with my 40-year experience. I will check out Oyama area and Predator Ridge. My main thing is a long and growing sense of alienation; a feeling that I am a foreigner in my own country. And oh my the the eco-hysteria; used to think it was just funny.

My roots are in Atlantic Canada a return to which is one option under consideration. A old man’s pining for his tribe?

        3. “You really want to get away from it Me No Dhimmi, find yourself some nice property in the Oyama area. You won’t regret it.”

No regrets as long as you go into it knowing that the Indian land claims cover 110% of BC, that is.

  6. What’s to stop drivers from getting out of their cars to get as many of the other drivers in their trapped cars to create a march against road blockade tyranny? Then just march up to the blockade and make a citizens arrest against disturbers of the peace (“Disturbing the peace, also known as breach of the peace, is a criminal offense that occurs when a person engages in some form of unruly public behavior).

    1. What we need is making it a criminal offense for police to ignore blatant breaches of the law. Make it a ticketable offense with a $500 fine. just enough to piss them off and take all laws seriously. The bridge protest was known by everyone in Edmonton except the police who took 1/2 hour to arrive. How hard would it be to send 50 cars and some buses and arrest 50 or 100 people. They could have had everything cleaned up in 5 minutes.

      1. Throw the first protester off the bridge, start towards the second one. The demonstration will be over in seconds.

This is how it should work in the real world.

        Jmho

        1. be sure to make it lOOk like an accident !!!!
or, sign up with the protesters and create a confrontation WITH one of them.
lots of ways to get things done eh?

    2. The cops are there to stop that. They are specifically there to protect the protesters from the cranky citizenry.

The meaning is very clear. The government is supporting the protesters against the commoners (that would be us), using the “protest” as an excuse to pass a law they want.

Therefore if you want to have a “citizen’s arrest” you better bring lots and lots of guys, because you’ll have to arrest the Edmonton Police Force first. Like, all of them. Then you’ll have to replace them with some other kind of police thing, otherwise the looters will raid Walmart.

Otherwise known as an and overthrow of the government. Might not want to go there. Could get ugly.

      1. People might want to go there anyway, it’s getting uglier and uglier while the government seems content to let be, rather than fulfill the role of it claims to justify its existence, i.e. ensure peace, order, and good government.

        1. Well, y’know, “peace” and “order” are basically just all of us shutting up, while “good government” is whatever the hell they say it is. Mostly making us all shut up.

“Canada” was a scam back in 1867 and it hasn’t really changed since.

    3. “What’s to stop drivers from getting out of their cars to get as many of the other drivers in their trapped cars to create a march against road blockade tyranny?”

Marching is walking and people drive so that they don’t have to walk. Either way the road is blocked and they’re going nowhere fast.

    4. What’s to stop drivers from getting out of their cars to get as many of the other drivers in their trapped cars to create a march against road blockade tyranny?

Haw haw – it’s been done.

Several years ago, the treehuggers on VanIsle were going into a clearcut area and chaining themselves to trees, across access roads, whatever. Well, the logging company decided ‘two can play that game’, and pushed big rocks across the entrance to the access road so the treehuggers couldn’t drive into the area, they had to park their Priuses and walk in.

      The treehuggers were PI$$ED……! =D…………………

  7. I recently watched a documentary on air travel. With today’s technology, if you built an electric Airbus 380, you would have to fill the entire plane with batteries just to be able to get it off the ground. Much less make it from NY to London over the ocean. And do keep in mind that lithium batteries are illegal on an airline.

    Good luck Greta!!

PS: As older adults, it is our job to educate the little idiots who have been mislead.

      1. Suggest having E May, Naomi Klein, AOC and Greta on the prototype flight from NY to London.

    1. Kenji…you are bang on. And it needs to happen this winter when its 30 below. Time for Alberta to start doing to canaduh what they have been doing to us.

Additionally, Kenney needs to start enacting the Harper firewall…and he needs to call it exactly that.

      1. Oops … my mistake. PG&E is shutting off power to 800k “households” … which equals more like 2.4M people without power. The “power” company is deliberately NOT providing power to 2.4M customers. I’m sorry …? What is their mission statement, exactly? Anything and everything BUT deliver safe, reliable, power?

Global warming hysteria? Yep. PG&E has several “Departments” dedicated to that.
Commitment to inefficient, costly, renewable energy? Yep. Working overtime on that.
Dedicated to “inclusive” hiring? Yep. Most of the company is Affirmative-action hires.
Maintain and improve their infrastructure? Nope. Those dollars spent don’t virtue-signal, nor add to investor “perception” of the company … so maintenance is on a “if it’s not broke (yet) don’t fix it” or maintain it.

Good News, though!! I am in Shut-down Zone II … which shut-down has been delayed from Noon today until 8P tonight. Incompetent fkcuers!!

        1. The reason that PG&E lets their infrastructure decay and wear out? No competition, and, when it does, make the customer pay for it. Its a beautiful business model, all mistakes result in higher costs for consumers, and they have no choice.
That’s what we deal with here in Bring Cash with, our car insurance, (the execrable ICBC), our power as well (Virtue Signalling BCHydro, which is now trolling for more electric car consumers), our gasoline supplies (refinery breaks down? No Problem, just raise prices, they supply all the stations!)
So, where is PG&E going to turn off the juice? Hollywood? Malibu? LA?………….Nah, they’ll turn off for those hicks down the Imperial Valley, and GOP Congressional Districts, right? When I first heard of this, its shocking. This is the strategy of a third world broken down utility system, but Californica? Jeebuz, stupid doesnt even start to describe this!
Or, maybe its imported Mexican logic, who knows!

          1. Wow DanBC! How is it that you understand the inner workings of my dysfunctional State so very clearly? Oh yeah … you’re from BC …

Yep … our AG is a Mexican National who likes to speak in an unintelligible Mexican dialect when announcing another lawsuit against PDJT.

          2. Small small minds at PG&E, following the climate alarm agenda. Rather than spend on vegetation removal, trimming and brushing, as any electrical utility will do, they turn off the power. Gotta treat Gaia nice!!!
Note how generator sales are through the roof. So much for Californica’s advanced climate alarm plan, destroyed by massive generator use. So, they’ll ban generators next, no good deed goes unpunished!
Newsom is tre~ stupid, but he is a Pelosi, right (son-in-Law?)
            https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-49982236

  8. Every single person stuck in that traffic jam should have locked their vehicle up where it sat and walked through to work.

    1. Or gotten out and blockaded the blockade.

Circle them, link arms and sing “Kumbaya” while the temperate drops. Phone friends get warm clothes and hot coffee, snacks and many more people on the blockade.

Work out shifts while you warm up in your toasty idling car. Crowd fund gas money.

Let the little attention screaming protestors experience sunset. Be peaceful while they aren’t allowed to leave.

      1. I like it! Besiege the blockaders. Nobody leaves, no supplies come in.
Only medical aid if necessary. But NOT if it’s transported by fossil fuel.

      2. You’d have to find where they parked their cars, and block them in. If you physically blocked the protesters you’d be “kidnapping”, and you know who the police would come-after. But block-in their cars? – “Oh I’m sorry – I was just looking for a place to park, I didn’t know!”

That’s when you mobilize a few friends to do the looking for their parking lot and watch the protesters moving to/from – you’re still stuck in traffic.

  9. The key is to get the police to stay away as they are now the problem. Governments run by progressive pricks call the shots and their unionized doughnut eaters mostly do as their told.

Let them shut the city down until food can no longer can be found on store shelves and then just maybe the public will pressure their progressive pricks to either clear the streets or allow a half dozen truck drivers to do the job.

The war on prosperity will eventually touch everyone. You either fight the misinformed masses, surrender to an eventual life of serfdom, or hide somewhere really well hidden.

    1. As I have been saying for a while.. Force them to live off grid.. If they survived a month I would be surprised.

  10. What will stop this lunacy? Pretty simple. Just shut down every oil and gas transmission and distribution line in those areas with a high concentration of these mental midgets. The problem would resolve in 48 hours.

  11. Saw a video clip of the “Extinction Rebellion” in Halifax where a major bridge was closed.

A marching marxist girl screams at another girl with a bicycle who’s pissed that the bridge is closed. Bicycle girl says she’s doing her planet-saving bit every day by riding her bicycle. Screaming bitch says, Yeah right …. you’re just trying to save bus fare.

Is it just me or is this exchange hilarious. I mean I could well have said that to a saintly bicyclist of which there are a few in Vancouver.

    1. “… Screaming bitch says, Yeah right …. you’re just trying to save bus fare. …”

Which demonstrates one more reason to say no to this nonsens. Many of them won’t take yes for an answer. They don’t really want what they claim to want, they just want to wreck everything because that’s fun, and growing up, dealing with reality and making a life for yourself is too hard and too scary.

  12. Inspired by Jerry Seinfeld’s… Driving Around Stories:
    True Story- Episode One:

☆Stories From Nancy Driving in Taxis Not Having Coffee☆
Thought I was going to have to administer C.P.R. in a taxi last week. The driver took a call just before take-off. On speaker, the man at the other end told him that he owed $2400. The elderly man almost had a heart attack. It was for either a new battery or a repair of some sort to the battery, not sure. We were in a hybrid vehicle.

Judging from his thick accent, this immigrant driver was from a former communist country. When he hung up, the poor old man told me that he was 70 years old and was now going to retire.

(Irrelevant what I said to him in reply, but a few chosen words went like the following: cold country, greed, scams etc….
    good luck………………….you get the picture)

  13. These climate change “activists” can bleat, moan, bitch, complain, threaten or whatever but nobody elected any of them.

Politicians will play lip service but know new green raw deals are DOA with voters, who will accept only milquetoast virtue signaling, and/or be outraged when what they should have known happens, carbon taxes actually hurt middle income and entrepreneurs, as they currently do the working poor.

    1. The bottom line is still, the gummints see global warming as an unending source of tax grabs – everybodyknows where that will lead…

It’ll get REAL funny when they block an ambulance and somebody dies. “Well, he died to prove the rightness of our cause!”

“Yeah, and you’re going to jail for a couple years as an accessory to murder.”

  14. Well, my go to phrase for protesters blocking roadways would be “release the hounds” followed by a recording of a pack of barking, growling feral dogs. 🙂

Another idea – I remind you that progressives support dousing people they don’t like with milkshakes. Soyshakes would be funnier.

Seriously though, the progressive parties have aligned themselves with climate emergency revolutionaries like Extinction Rebellion. Targeting cities, where progressives have high levels of support, is counterproductive. Big city dwellers want action…action that doesn’t affect them. Action that harms rednecks in far away Hicksville, Alberta or Riderville, Sask. Not Ontario automakers. Not Quebec cement companies. Not BC coal or natgas exporters. Not foreign oil import interests. Not the daily commute. Not their own lifestyle, pocketbook, convenience or economy. Nope, make Alberta and Saskatchewan Canada’s climate change scapegoats.. Bankrupt their citizens. Destroy their economy. Kill their livelihoods. Let Ontario, Quebec and BC brag about fighting climate change via sacrificing Alberta and Saskatchewan.

    1. Hahaha. Ok…next protest if I’m in town I’m going to the closest shake shack and buying 20 shakes to hand out to stranded drivers to help keep them calm and spread goodwill.

      “20 Xtra large shakes please.”

      1. …and a mask if you’re throwing milkshakes. If police allow wearing a mask to protect against legal and personal/professional consequences for antifa and XR protesters then it must also be allowed for commuters and others, too. Equality under the law must be insisted upon.

Got milk? A new anti-xr campaign

  15. I see that Michael Stipe of REM fame as well as band members of Radio Head throwing their support behind the Extinction Rebellion which will further embolden these Enviro mutts even more.
Gazillionaire Stipe has got his…he just doesn’t want you getting yours.

    1. I call it the “Stinking Rebellion”. Because they’re rebels without a cause, and they stink.

    2. Most who are of Stipe’s stripe don’t care enough about you or anyone else to wish you “not getting yours” as long as you don’t take theirs. If you can otherwise get rich like they are, fine, they’ll be happy to have you join them in trying to deflect attention because they fear their wealth is undeserved and will be taken from them.

    3. People follow musicians thinking they have something to say. I’ve been a musician all my life. Played professionally and have known many players. I can tell you musicians are no smarter or insightful than the average working stiff.
Bob Dylan was once asked what his songs meant. His reply, “I dunno they mean whatever you want them to mean.”
REM and Radio Head bring no more authority to any cause than anybody else unless it is their music.

  16. Bah…a society cold, broke, and hungry long enough will separate the men from the soy boys. Then we’ll see who’s really in control.

Keep buying those bullets and beans.

  17. There will be a price to pay if SHTF because mental defective misanthropes have been so emboldened that they damage or disable some critical infrastructure.
But will the enablers pay? Doubtful. That’s why the government wants you disarmed. Meek sheeple following the Judas goat to their slaughter.

  18. Soft Actions are coming to a theatre near you or rather a city block-
    AKA:
Slow swarms- when activists in Pjs congreate at an intersection and cross together on the green light- like a flash mob- but with existential angst. It is considered a soft action and not meant to be particularly disruptive.

Wonder if Trudeau will join and be amongst them?
WILL his socks match his Pjs?

P.S. The bridge climb happened yesterday in Montreal too:
    https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/jacques-cartier-bridge-closed-as-climate-activists-firefighters-scale-structure

    1. NR

He’s a onezee guy or whatever you call those one piece things. They used to be called longhandles….with the wind flap…
      Oh forgitaboutit.

  19. I think it is fantastic.

Block every bridge into and especially out of downtown Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver and see if I give a flying feces.
Let the pink hairs, ecotrolls and soy socialists be inconvenienced. Let it go on for months. They’ll only start to give a feces once the Starbucks start to close and the organic co-op runs out of KeenWahhhh.

Hopefully then they’ll indulge in a little free range, non-GMO cannibalism faster than a Uruguayan rugby team.

      1. I still use an electric grinder, saving wear and tear on my hand-cranked one, which I’ll need for as long as my supply of beans lasts when the electricity runs out.

        1. Think i will invest in one too and some other emergency supplies. The California brown-outs are unfair to paying citizens. The Democrat/Liberal governments are out to lunch.

  20. These clowns are operating, I think it’s clear, with the full consent of our master class, making a big show of demanding of our masters what the masters intend to do anyway. Perfectly controlled opposition.

All real slave revolts are invariably put down as brutally as possible, pour encourager les autres. Any leaders of the revolts unable to evade capture are always killed, in public as a warning to others.

    1. These clowns are actually doing the bidding of our master class…..they are today’s “brownshirts”.

  21. One of the main bridges into and out of Victoria was shut down yesterday during the afternoon rush hour for over 3 hours. Police just let them at it. Anarchists or eco terrorists, take your pick, have the sympathetic ear of Victoria and Esquimalt’s mayor and council. Time to take these yahoos to account – next municipal election cannot come soon enough.

Who is in charge here anyway? Who is sticking up for us hard working stiffs?

    http://www.shakeyjay.ca

    1. It will fizzle out, though l don’t doubt there will be some pain and mischief before it does.

Who here remembers the Occupy Movement?

    2. Jay, if you know this area like I do, most of the ignorant leftist population is cheering on these lunatics, as mentioned, both mayors patting them on the back, and their lunatic councils.
So yeah, if they want to hurt their own kind, let them have at it. Johnson St bridge is used pretty much for Esquimalt, Gorge and VIc West gubmint employees. Anyone hitting the west shore, or north, is taking Douglas instead…….no bridges for the morons to block. My heart squirts red for them………….they can block it 24/7 for all I care, Lisa’s $100 million gift to her fellow travellers, a new artsy bridge to camp on.

  22. Start carrying bear spray, if they stop your vehicle, start at one end of the line and spray these vermin, them being chained will be good sport.

  23. Everywhere I look it’s turning colder so these protests have been wildly successful within a day.

    Mission accomplished.

Back to work making baskets and things that reflect light.

  24. The EXTINCTION REBELLION are the new NAZIS.

They may use green instead of brown, but their new eye catching emblem reminds me of their old emblem, some straight lines grouped together, very original.

They still stop their feet to get their own way.

    1. “the new NAZIS”

No, they aren’t. Nazis were Nationalists. These people are INTERNATIONAL Socialists. Have you ever hear of the ComIntern?
COMINTERN Probably not. The ignorance on this site is staggering, depressing too.

When you throw the term Nazis around you are using their terminology and playing into their hand.
These people are post-nationalist. They are globalists. Does the term Global Warming ring a bell?

  25. the environmentalist movement is more and more an anti-petrol movement.

and under Trump the USA has become the world’s largest petrol producer.

    2+2=4

it is now obvious to me it is not a coincidence that the people behind the curtain have brainwashed millions of people into believing petrol is killing the planet and is the main cause of global warming

the goal is not saving the planet

the goal is destroying the USA

making petrol the enemy is how they intend on destroying the USA

and millions of naive useful idiots think they are saving the planet, when they are used to destroy the USA.

    1. The GOAL my friend is 6 Billion dead humans…preferrably White Euro-Centric Types…you know that ones that Created the greatest Civilizaton ever seen on this earth..?? the one that was built on Cheap Reliable abundant ENERGY and gave Fredom to 100’s of Millions.

      THEY….want a planet of < 1Bilon Humans – All Converted To Islam.
Islam being likely the epitome of control Mechanisms ever…only way out is.?? off a rooftop or via the sword.

Dont believe me…??? do some reading/research on Maurice STRONG.

  26. I know most of the posters here are not Trudeau fans but I think you may be ignoring the elephant in the room, the federal government, holding a majority in parliament, has declared a climate emergency and therefore these protesters are good citizens reacting appropriately to an emergency. By the way, that same elephant accepts that we are all guilty of genocide against aboriginals. So suck it up losers… /s

  27. They would better serve the world if they expended their time, money, and energy planting trees.

Oh wait, that might involve being productive and useful, not just being noisy, lazy slackers. Planting trees involves work and actually doing something.

  28. It’s official; Terry Etam is unintelligent. A moron even.

Politicians “brainlessly standing by”… Seriously? Either Etam does not know they are on the other side, which makes him stupid. Or Etam is on the other side and trying to cast shade on their actions. “oh, they have good intentions, they are basically good people”

    1. Yes, all of the above by Kevin. Etam thinks there a “good environmentalists” to whom the extremists give a bad name.

Here is a ‘joke’ for Terry Etam.
The Easter Bunny , Santa Claus, a Hooker, and a good Environmentalist are walking down the sidewalk arm-in-arm late at night and they all espy a $50 bill just laying there in the street. Which one of them picks it up?

      answer: the Hooker does.
Why? *Because the Hooker is real and all of the others are just make-believe.*

  29. For Terry, Kate and the rest of you here, read this passage in the Bible:
I Samuel 17 (in the Complete Jewish Bible).

The most important part of that event is what David said to Golyat (Goliath): “For this is ADONAI’s battle …”

    Second, read this passage:
Exodus 14 (again in the CJB).

The most important part of that event is what Moshe (Moses) said to the people of Israel:
“Stop being so fearful! Remain steady, and you will see how Adonai is going to save you.”

When it seems that we are totally helpless against a vast army that wants to turn us into their slaves or simply eliminate us dissenters from the face of the earth, remember David’s words and Moshe’s words.

The key to this whole situation is this: Put your FULL trust in the God of the Bible and know that he will rescue you.

  30. The real story here is that there is no counter protest…not even a suggestion. Just more typing, moaning, pissing, and whining.

And THAT is why these gormless hypocrites are winning.

    1. jammie, there will lots of praying turning of the other cheek this sunday coming, and the good lord will piss on the fools , like Gary D, they don’t come any stupider than bible thumpers, emotional fools all of them
