  4. Snow storm last night in my part of rural Ontario. Supposed to go down to -14 tonight. I may have a problem getting through the snow to fill up my tank before the global warming tax comes into effect Monday. And Bell Media(CTV)’s CP24 station in Toronto kept calling the Alberta oil sands the tar sands this morning. I guess we know how unbiased CTV is.

    Oh wait, “Despite all of this, the Yukon currently has a very strong caribou population. […] the Porcupine caribou herd numbers are at an all-time high. According to the Yukon government, the most recent survey in 2017 shows the herd to be well over 200,000 animals.”

    The caribou are hanging out in the National Park, away from the hunters. The hunters are going to have to build a meat camp to get them. That should help with the population of caribou.

    1. Caribou moving north to escape global warming? What is an optimists estimate of warming – 1/10 of a degree. Can caribou detect 1/10 of one degree increase? Apparently Indians can. I am 800 to 1,000 miles south of these turkeys and we have caribou. I never asked them whether they are moving north. As someone said the population centre is moving north because Indians killed all the ones further south.

    2. I have a theory that if you have a particular political leaning but it is not based on deep principles (ie your principles are malleable) then your political leanings will change to match those around you if if you are mostly surrounded by people who have different political leanings.

      Exhibit A is coyne in downtown Toronto. He was once a conservative but is now just another crazy deranged liberal. Simply walking in and out of the cbc building in Toronto every day slowly changed him.

        He has been semi-critical of Trudeau thru the SNC scam. He even cheered Paul Wells for ripping Trudeau up the side of the head (yes…Paul Wells).
        So Coyne had to sound ‘balanced’ for the ones that sign his check.
        Expect Wells to dump on Sheer or Max any day now. Or a Harper Derangement Syndrome article.

    The comments section boils down to “Trudeau is screwing the west” or “die evil oil & gas company – die”. Either way, it would suck to be a shareholder. The stock has dropped from a high of $52 in 2014 to $0.43.

    BTW a new pipeline to the US (Keystone expansion) will not save Alberta. Only a pipeline to the west or east coast will do.

  18. The biggest April Fools joke today comes from the wanna-be PM, Andrew Scheer. His solution to the Trudeau Carbon Tax, “Fill up your tank, before the Tax kicks in.” Like that will work, and you dyed in the wool conservatives that are going to back the CPC in October will no doubt run out and fill your tank like instructed. Climate Barbie on the other hand has just told us that 90% of the tax will be returned to us. Aren’t we fortunate the government is going to return 90% of the money it is going to take from us. If I could I’d retire to Bedlam because there would be more sanity there than what now exists in Canada. The Carbon Tax is going to increase the cost of living so fast that it will be impossible to chart it. Every company that does business in Canada, from the Mom and Pop corner store to Manufacturer’s Insurance, to Costco and Wall-mart will have to increase their prices to cover their overhead and you the Canadian customer and taxpayer will have to accept the increase costs. Lucky you. When they put the last shovel of dirt on the grave of Canada the tombstone will read “Alas Poor Reader, they didn’t realize what the incremental loss of their freedoms would lead to!”

  21. The problem with milgaard is he wasn’t the innocent he portends. The DNA evidence suggested it was larry fisher’s sperm on the nurses panties but milgaard was present at the murder scene with fisher at the time.

    Because milgaard had already served 20+ years when the DNA evidence came forward the court let him walk. He then sued and got a settlement for wrongful conviction. Why not? He had the new evidence.

    He apparently made a jailhouse admission of guilt but it was ruled inadmissible.

    He did it.

  22. Mohammad Trudeau didn’t attend the service today at the National War Memorial in honour of the Canadian troops killed in Afghanistan. I guess he didn’t want to offend his muslim voters.

    1. I don’t think he bothered to attend the service in Montreal for Canada’s oldest and longest serving veteran, Colonel David Hart, who was 101 when he died.

    1. No surprise. Who wants to pay to watch women’s teams that can’t beat a rep team of 16 year old boys. You don’t have to pay to watch rep hockey and it’s a better product. It doesn’t help that there was no coordination between leagues. Basketball is going to have the same problem. Women’s golf has struggled lately.

      The only sport that offers the same money and opportunity to women is tennis and they’ve done it by being closely tied to the men. Although recently the WTA has been selling its rights to different media outlets than the men. That can do nothing but come back to bite them in the ass. It’s almost impossible to watch women’s tennis in Canada at any level below a Grand Slam Event.
