Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Well, I have experienced my first leftist internet censorship.
I post on the comments section of sites supported by Discus, with the same screen name as here. I wrote a retort to condescending remarks by this warmist, saying AGW is a phenomena (sic) that you need science to understand, and that even a high school physics student understands CO2 is warming. I replied that AGW is a hoax and gave the reasons why, in brief. Water vapor is the dominant green house gas in the atmosphere, and CO2 itself reaches asymptotic limits in infrared emission regardless of concentration, and the earth is currently in geologically speaking historically low period of both CO2 concentration and temperature, and in any case all warmist predictions in the last twenty years have been spectacularly wrong. And it was only after all of that, I told him I hold a doctorate in theoretical physics, not as an appeal to authority, but simply to tell him he cannot throw “science” at me.
After several upvotes and commending posts, I received a notification of a new reply. Turns out it was an action by Discus, which has determined that what I posted was spam. It was in a bright red notice. I guess Discus has determined that saying AGW is a hoax is spam. And so it is happening on all fronts. They are emboldened by what Facebook et al. have gotten away with, and they are just going to increase their censorship until they have wiped all conservative thoughts from all platforms … all conveniently timed at a critical juncture just before the midterm elections.
I think it is high time that the FCC declares that the platforms are privately owned public utilities, just like water and power companies. The latter cannot discriminate as to whom they will deliver water and power. In the same way, as public utilities, the platforms should not be able to violate the First Amendment in delivering content. It will be fun to see the leftists revealing their Marxist roots, arguing against the First Amendment, and insisting on their right to censor.
Yes, yes, I know, the right thing to do is build our own platforms. But there is no time, and that is why the timing is so insidious.
Social media power is one battlefront. Another is the vast majority of the MSM. Then there are the Globalists and post-nationalists like Soros & PM POS, the Clintons, etc. on the political end. Add the anti-gun lobby, the global warming eco-fascists, the antifa cowards, Hollywood rot, the universities and the public servants and you have a multi-pronged assault that is only gaining momentum as they unite to jack boot society into compliance.
They are determined to determine the future.
But I think they’ve made some huge mistakes.
Great post Buddy. Hitting several nails on the head.
Permanently banned from Twitter, and seemingly Disqus for the most garbage reasons. I would love to see these companies BROKEN up…!! Or as Old Bruin notes, force said companies to adhere to the First Amendment. With Donald Trump in Power, I have to believe that is one of his GOALS.
Did you mean Disqus or Discus?
I suspect that it was the “site moderator” who deleted your post and identified your post as spam….. i.e., not the platform. Still sucks.
I am censored on BB and disqus on a regular basis. things that they don’t want to hear, ie the truth, will be censored.
I am permanently BANNED from the Daily Mail for questioning why a lesbian kiss after the US Women’s World Cup win was “more newsworthy” than a heterosexual kiss. The gay lobby censors anyone and everyone who questions their … lifestyle. They are bent on “normalizing” homosexuals by silencing those who question it. It won’t work. Biology will defeat their every attempt.
Distressing, especially given cogent arguments from a knowlegable person. The orders from above must be to delete comments from global warming “deniers”. I find that degree of manipulation in an attempt to deny honest debate quite frightening.
@ 1:57 OB
How unfortunate. There’s a few cases here where people have reported the same, @ Twitter, I think.
Tonight President Trump gave a great speech in West Virginia to a packed arena. The house went wild with applause, as he spoke straight from the heart and was witty and even a barrel of laughs. He spoke about free speech and said that though he often mocks the Press he more or less said that he accepts them, as per the Constitution.
These websites that ban free speech as per the Constitution are doomed to failure.
Nancy, and here we have the taxpayer-supported CBC web page that spews continuous anti-Trump propaganda. The fix is in.
@6:17
David, yes, TV news also. C.B.C. & C.T.V. are difficult to watch because they spew all the propaganda that Buddy mentioned @6:08am, including digs at Trump on a continuous basis.
The way they cover for Trudeau, especially over his recent escapades, is very offensive. With this P.M. it is easier to pick out their lies because we know the truth for what is. It makes one heartsick.
I have some sites that I read regularly. they are always shown as un secure. or not this or not that. The censorship is getting vast and will soon involve the entire net. One site. the geller report says certificate error and will not display. I can get it by jumping to a few hoops but Microsoft is definitely censoring it.
That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.
Conservatives’ biggest problem with the social media companies isn’t the social media companies. It’s that conservatives, as a group, are technologically illiterate Luddites.
Yup. We’d all still be living in caves if it wasn’t for all those science-advancing liberals.
Winx. Horse racing always brings this tune to mind. Especially the last two lines. I can’t help myself:
Camptown ladies sing dis song, Doo-dah! doo-dah!
Camptown race-track five miles long, Oh, doo-dah day!
I come down dah wid my hat caved in, Doo-dah! doo-dah!
I go back home wid a pocket full of tin, Oh, doo-dah day!
Gwine to run all night!
Gwine to run all day!

That is a huge mistake. I think they will lose votes over that. Rebel has recently got its one millionth subscriber. They are about the only news agency willing to speak out for conservative positions. That is as bad as the tech companies blocking conservative views.
I found this bit interesting:
————————
The Cohen and Manafort cases were unlikely to erode Trump’s support from his political base or the Republican Party establishment, said Larry Sabato, a political analyst and director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics.
“I don’t think there is any change at all,” said Sabato. “That’s the amazing part of it. The Trump base and virtually the entire Republican Party could care less. The polls will bear me out.” (Reuters)
I confess, that’s were I am in this political firestorm.
————————————————
And then there is this:
Under U.S. election law, campaign contributions, defined as things of value given to a campaign to influence an election, must be disclosed. A payment intended to silence allegations of an affair just before an election could constitute a campaign contribution, which is limited to $2,700 per person per election, some experts said. (Reuters)
I suppose it COULD be looked at as a “campaign contribution” but then it could also COULD be looked at as a “personal” issue for a married man. Either way, I find myself strangely apathetic toward “criminality”. Your viewpoints may differ…………
I do not understand how anything Cohen says has any credibility. Mueller charges him with tax evasion type crimes worth 20 years in jail – unless he lies about Trump, then he gets three years. Of course, nothing will happen, t is just an excuse for the dementocrats to go for impeachment if they win the house.
I expect Mueller to be discredited before then.
…and then the democrazies will spend all their time trying to impeach Trump…nothing else will get done and the whole country will crash
You’re not the only one.
The Republican rank and file understand, correctly, that this is all part of a plot to undo the republic and replace it with something more to the liking of the father of lies.
They will vote accordingly.
The DeMarxists could care less about Hillary’s emails, the faked dossier and an abuse of power unmatched in US history.
Meanwhile I await evidence the payment to a stripper becoming a campaign contribution because it “affected the election.”
I understand Trump’s barnstorming at the end of the 16 election “affected the election” too. Is Mueller investigating that too?
Apparently Trump winning the election “affected the election.” That’s the real crime in DeMarxist land, taking their power away.
Hypocrite much? “Former Clinton Pollster: Hillary Clinton Broke Campaign Finance Laws, Not Donald Trump.”
“The sweetener for the prosecutors, of course, was getting Cohen to plead guilty to campaign finance violations that were not campaign finance violations. Money paid to people who come out of the woodwork and shake down people under threat of revealing bad sexual stories are not legitimate campaign expenditures. They are personal expenditures. That is true for both candidates we like and candidates we don’t. Just imagine if candidates used campaign funds instead of their own money to pay folks like Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about affairs; they would get indicted for misuse of campaign funds for personal purposes and for tax evasion.”
Equal justice for all? I think not.
“Contrast what is going on here with the treatment of the millions of dollars paid to a Democratic law firm which, in turn, paid out money to political research firm Fusion GPS and British ex-spy Christopher Steele without listing them on any campaign expenditure form — despite crystal-clear laws and regulations that the ultimate beneficiaries of the funds must be listed. This rule was even tightened recently. There is no question that hiring spies to do opposition research in Russia is a campaign expenditure, and yet, no prosecutorial raids have been sprung on the law firm, Fusion GPS or Steele.”
Reason: It does not “get” Trump.”
So, Trump spends $130,000 to keep the lid on a personal story and the full weight of state prosecutors comes down on his lawyer, tossing attorney–client privilege to the wind. Democrats spend potentially millions on secret opposition research and no serious criminal investigation occurs.”
Remember that the feds tried a similar strategy against Democrat John Edwards in the 2012 case and it failed. As Gregory Craig, a lawyer who worked both for President Clinton and Edwards, said: “The government’s theory is wrong on the facts and wrong on the law. It is novel and untested. There is no civil or criminal precedent for such a prosecution.”
Hey, tried it there anyway and it failed.”
http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/402959-cohens-plea-deal-is-prosecutors-attempt-to-set-up-trump
The whole thing is absolutely astounding . The whole point is to apply enough pressure to get someone to turn on Trump. The same happened to Flyn. The mistake Trump made was not appointing a special counsel to go after Obama and Clinton and the justice department immediately upon election . He should have went for the kill , much as they are doing . I think he may have underestimated the nuances of the political game. Truly the influence these people are able to apply is scary . If they can get away with doing this to Trump , democracy in the U. S. is a farce . It is no different in Canada . For example the rhino party has been legislated out of existence simply because they didn’t like the protest vote. To start a new party from scratch will be next to impossible. Recently I read as much as 40% of the U.S. population think another civil war is likely. It may be what it takes.
“The Fiery Angel
Nepalese people burn an effigy of demon Ghantakarna (AP Photo/Niranjan Shrestha)
Michael Walsh’s book, The Fiery Angel, takes its title from a novel by Valery Brusov (which inspired a later opera by Sergei Prokofiev of the same name). It’s an allusion to Madiel, the demon who deceives a maid into loving him in both works and as some would have it in ‘both worlds’. In both opera and book “does [the audience] accept the supernatural as a real and constant presence, or are the unnatural happenings merely symptomatic of Renata’s unbalanced mental state? Is Madiel good or evil?”
The recursive references are intentional for Walsh’s goal is to demonstrate that culture — religion, the arts, language itself — are the core libraries of civilization built in a stack one upon the other.
His thesis is that culture stores and slowly modifies a civilization’s foundational libraries — its attitudes toward eternity, dominant narratives and ultimate ground for hope — which eventually underpin our entire world. To illustrate the unbreakable connection between the elements, the book examines two historical sequences showing how culture, politics and war are linked.
Beaumarchais–Mozart–The French Revolution–Beethoven–Napoleon.
Count Gobineau–Father Jahn–Wagner–World War I– Communism and National Socialism–Hitler.
Walsh convincingly demonstrates that culture anticipated and even precipitated great events. There should be no surprises there.”

The Angels and their Mission
By Jean Danielou
“The truth about angels — according to the Fathers of the Church
From St. Augustine to John Henry Newman, the greatest among the saints and men of God have lived on familiar terms with the angels; and the Church has always accorded them a very large place in her theology.
Recent theologians have dwelt on dry questions about the nature of the angels, but the early Fathers of the Church, with the memory of Jesus fresh in their minds (and of the angels of whom He spoke often) were fascinated with the energetic action of the angels among men and the ways in which the angels have carried out that mission from the instant of Creation through the time of Jesus; and how they will continue their work even unto the end of time.
From the works of these early Fathers of the Church, the late French Cardinal Jean Daniélou has drawn forth threads of knowledge and wisdom which he has here woven into a lucid and bright tapestry that shows us who the ministering angels really are, and how—in every instant and in every way—they are working for your salvation and mine.

“Sierra Club: Democrats are Losing Interest in Climate Change”
“The Sierra Club is fretting that the Democrats don’t really seem interested in solving the climate crisis.”
“A few weeks ago Democrats were complaining about losing votes to a “spoiler” green Ohio candidate who publicly claimed to be descended from space aliens – though to be fair the Democrats blamed votes for the green candidate on Russian meddling.
Still you have to wonder how hard the Democrats can chase the green space alien demographic without alienating some of their more mainstream supporters.
Perhaps the Democrats have finally woken up to the reality that making ends meet today is far more important to normal people than whether GDP will be reduced by a few percent a hundred years from now.”

Canada’s Ottoman Destiny: Maxime Bernier and Multiculturalism
Those quick to criticize Mr. Bernier are not only naïve, but cowardly.
https://www.thepostmillennial.com/canadas-ottoman-destiny-maxime-bernier-and-multiculturalism/
That was very good. I am somewhat surprised at the near universal condemnation of Bernier in the media. (I guess it is knee-jerk Liberalism). His remarks were thought provoking AND they flagged a very timely issue. You can have a certain amount of diversity, but you most certainly cannot be bringing in large numbers of people who oppose the very political system that defines Western democracies. Many Muslims support Sharia law and Sharia is not compatible with Western values. Moreover, it is not possible to separate the Muslim religion from its political agenda — to dominate the world and establish a world governed by Sharia. Now a lot of individual Muslims might not be promoting this — but few are free to object, and you only need a minority of ruthless people to implement a disruptive agenda. This needs to be acknowledged. Bernier’s remarks provide an opportunity for discussion that is being systematically suppressed.
Another thought re Maxime’s tweets. He makes the point that you need some core identity that defines you (not sure those were his exact words.) Trudeau is making a point of claiming that there is no core identity in Canada — “no mainstream,” he says. Lots of Canadians seems to have been duped into agreeing with this. It is very ironic that just a few years ago people would have been enraged by the suggestion that Canadians did not have a distinct identity. Remember when a big deal was made about how our Anglo-French identity and health care were important factors in distinguishing us from the Americans. Whoops — whatever happened to those ideas? Now the leftists and the media seem to be happy to accept that we have no identity. It’s shocking really. What is really happening is that people are being subtly weaned away from any notion of national identity. The current agenda is being driven by the globalists. Even many immigrants support the idea of Canadian nationhood. A strong sense of national identity unifies the country. Truth-tellers like Max are being side-lined. We need more people in the media who are willing to speak out and call BS on the globalist Trudeau.
