Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Right now the Democrats look about as handy as having a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.
One would think the Republicans should be able to win this one with a well trained Shetland pony, as the left can’t seem to come up with a super power candidate. The problem as I see it, is that neither have the Republicans. Their “pony” candidates need to start showing that they can run with the big horses. Interesting times in a country with confusing and complex emotions being pumped through it’s veins. It is also very serious times, for all the Western world, as this election will have affects on us all.
Newsflash, this just in, soggy places getting damper, film at 11.
Try setting the Sea Level Rise control on the referenced page to 6 meters (~20 feet) instead of the default 14 meters (~50 feet). Interesting, eh?
Too bad they didn’t give us 1,000 meters as an option, then way more people would be scared.
At last! A reason to live in Saskatchewan! 😉
if this is right i don’t think i’d be buyimg land in surrey , bc . 3 meters and its wet. i can just imagine , dams going up all over forcing water to go higher in other places . people blowing them up to stop flooding . 2 metres and new orleans and galveston off the map. damn this is going to be interesting
Yeah but the Red States starve in a global warming induced dust bowl. See:

Expressing wishful thinking aside, don’t you know that it’s impolite to immerse yourself in the domestic politics of another country? (Unless working for the CIA, of course.)
Ha, you add that to the Posts article on Saturday showing that the left is dying off due to extremely low birthrates – the next few generations won’t have to endure as much brainless, deviant drivel as we’ve had to.
“Expressing wishful thinking aside, don’t you know that it’s impolite to immerse yourself in the domestic politics of another country? (Unless working for the CIA, of course.)”
this is why the old sarge don’t never speak to mistress kates kanukistani political threads wouldnt be right, what does sarge know about kanukistan?
of course when this old sarge sees mistress kate’s total lack of understanding of america, americans, and american politics, sarge wonders if mistress kate might not be gettin some other stuff wrong… much like bein’ a nuerosurgeon, runnin smalldead animals aint brain surgery.
sarge would add once again once all that polar ice melts sarge won’t be going to key west but american mining companies will be goin’ to yer kanukistani northern territory and we will take what we want along with all that water we might need to float the mississippi boats and keep wetthe desert so old sarge can have cheap lettuce. these american folks y’all love so much have expressed a desire to rape yer birthright and by god if sarge gets cheaper industrial products and bigger strawberries so be it. kanukistan is, as they say, our bitch. thanks kate and all for makin’ it easy. can’t wait to taker yer oil sands awauy from ya.
What worries me is all those people moving, thus chnaging the demographics where they go, AND the rotten boroughs remaining behind.

My wife comes from Japan and a quick look at the Western Pacific shows only about 10 percent of the Japanese land mass remaining. Cripes!
I wonder if the movie Waterworld was not so off base after all!!
I still can’t figure out why the Dems are still bashing Bush so much, they aren’t going to be running against him in the next presidential election.
One wonders why such self-professed “experts” such as sarg cannot spell neurogurgeon?
Newsflash dipstick: Ya don’t have to be American to understand American politics and it sure as hell not impolite to express one’s views about the same. It’s that freedom of speech thing. After all, it is fair game that Hollywood knows better than anyone else how to run any country, or the world for that matter.
The real tragety of the ocean’s level rising is the loss of Carribean retreats available. the good news is my place in Houston will be beachfront property!
Sarge sounds like a pleasant, tolerant and expressively eloquent purveyor of liberal idealogy. Maybe he could move to Canuckistan and give the grand ole’ Liberal Party a fresher version of Carolyn Parrish to help with their leadership race. People would come from all over to applaud their support. Heck, I’m sure they’d even give him a genuine Saskatchewan baby seal skin coat for photo Ops.
please note that I misspelled neurosurgeon so as to not come across as pompous. that’s my story and i’m sticking to it 😉
Are you still passing off gopher coats as Saskachewan baby seal??
What, me? Of course not…there’s an annual Saskatchewan baby seal hunt on the ice flows of Diefenbaker lake. There’s not many of ’em but maybe enough to make Sarge a pretty coat. They may have to cancel future hunts though…the Saskatchewan baby seal is almost as rare as the Alberta rat.
ummm,…. I know I am not a real scientist or anything,… but I’ve always regarded the polar cap as a danger sign…. and not a real danger.
Really, what is a few million gallons of water. so the sea level goes up a couple meters.
What I am more worried about is the oceanic temperature. Water after all expands when it is warmed.
The ocean is miles deep in places. Someone wanna tell me what even a 1% expansion will do to the shoreline??
Makes me glad to live more than 3000 ft above sealevel.
