“Alec has walked out of the studio”

As the saying goes, When you can’t take the heat…

HANNITY: Once and for all you need to be challenged. You want to call our vice president a terrorist – fine. You want to talk about stoning people to death, say it on my program. If you want to be irresponsible and call our president a mass murderer while he’s at war leading troops in harm’s way …
BALDWIN: And what are you gonna do about it, Sean Hannity?
HANNITY: You don’t have the courage to answer questions.
BALDWIN: And what are you gonna do? And what are you going to do about it, Sean Hannity. If I come on your program, what are you going to do?
LEVIN: He’s going to show that you have a two digit IQ – that’s what he’s gonna do.

  1. According to Baldwin, Hannity’s a two bit construction worker from Long Island. It’s unbelievable the contempt these actors have for people – otherwise known as the audience. But hopefully things will change in the future – a future where one can choose entertainment from all kinds of sources over the internet. A time when these thumbsucking ‘celebrities’ in their nursery called hollywood will be seen for what they are – no talent, no IQ and no education, other than some questionable acting lessons.
Back to being the court jesters at a quid a day if they’re lucky.

  2. The Baldwins are from my old neighborhood, a blue collar suburb in a blue collar town.

He has got a lot of nerve dissing construction workers.

I bet that Fat Alec apologizes soon.

  3. I saw baldwin at his best in Trey Parker’s “Team America: World Police” ….great portrayal of a twisted egomaniac ideolodue who unwittingly helps his nation’s enemies. 😉

  4. This is obviously fake.
Everyone knows Alec Baldwin’s IQ is in single digit territory.
    Same as Dave’s

  5. “I can’t upstage Alec Baldwin!
He’s the greatest actor in the world!”

  6. I’m no fan of Baldwin but let me ask these contributors about the last time they listened to Hannity. I am hearing 2 or three times a week and he is nothing but a pitbull. He has got something to say but everytime he hears something he doesn’t agree with he bullies them. He is a loudmouth. Perhaps on television he cleans up his act somewhat but the radio is something else. Interestingly, many of the liberals on his show can be cut down to size, but he doesn’t do it with any art at all. He simply shouts them down. Now it’s his show and he can do what every he wants but let’s not talk about the blatant bias of people like Baldwin. Bias cuts BOTH WAYS.

  7. Baldwin made a huge mistake. He’s an actor used to being given a script telling him what to say. Thinking on your feet real time is Hannity’s strength. Hannity knew this of course. Balwin just found out. I have never seen Hannity invite someone as quick verbally as he is on his show to debate.

  8. Hannity doesn’t think on his feet. He sets people up. Listen to the show. The guy’s rehearsed and he just waits for it and tees off.

  9. I yearn for the time, hopefully soon, when people like Sean Hannity are not the face and sound of Conservative ideas, and Alec Baldwin is never asked his opinion about anything because we DON’T CARE.

  10. Yeahh?….Oh yeahh…Your mother wears army boots!
They conducted themselves like a couple of grade schoolers. What a shameful example they both set for public conduct.
The really SAD part is that exchanges like this are a daily occurrance on American talk radio.
The really SCARY part is no one seems too concerned, personal attacks are now considered a normal tactic in partisan exchanges.

  11. I move we boycott all leftist-written-produced and -acted Hollywood movies/tv shows.
From now on we only see Bruce Willis movies written/produced/directed by conservatives and that sort of thing.
Showbiz and the MSM must be forced to understand that we aren’t interested in their nonsense anymore and will instead go for intelligent, realistic conservative offerings.
Remember, the only thing those moonbat folks care about is MONEY!

  12. Sean could have shut down Baldwin’s line of attack with this question:
“Do you think Acting is a more honourable profession than construction worker?”
They both sounded obtuse. Hannity is smarter and more cunning than he displayed in that excerpt. Alec Baldwin is always as obtuse.

  13. Canadian Observer
I guess the good thing is that the attacks are contained to talk radio in the USA. In Canada, the politico storm-troopers oft quoted in the MSM are Cabinent Ministers [now ex-Cabinet Ministers: Brison of “kiss my a**”], PMO flaks [ex-PMO flaks Scott Reid of the well financed Ottawa pub tab]. The point is that these uncivilized boors are on both the left and right, in Canada and USA and then it all is intellectual dishonesty.

  14. Sentinal…what a great idea!…Let’s bring back McCarthyism, root out all the lefties and kill them and then make liberalism illegal.
BTW,Conservatives HATE making money and are 100% honest and unbiased, aren’t they?

  15. For many years I have avoided any movie that any actor in it that is one of the Baldwin brothers.
Alec did one good roll in Movie I think was called GlenGary GlenRoss can’t recall the name for certain, but it was about real estate hustlers … Jack Lemon was in it also Ed Harris and others.
He was the pep talk guy and he delivered a talk to a bunch on troubled salemen. He was young and thin and probably not as wealthy as he is now.
That small part, in my opinion was the highlight of his sorry career.
He no nothing but a fat, spoiled Hollywood insider with shit for brains. And since he already used up all of whatever bit of talent he had, continues to be a warning beacon along with his no talent brothers Stephen and one other. that “This movie is bad, don’t pay to come it, if you have to see if for some reason, rent the DVD.”
At least the Baldwins serve some small purpose.
And even though Hannity shouts a bit, the Lefite idiots he is talking to seem to be deaf, so one often feels compelled to shout at them. I often just want to slap them across the side of the head.

  16. “…The point is that these uncivilized boors are on both the left and right, in Canada and USA and then it all is intellectual dishonesty.”
    “intellectual dishonesty”
    JRB….very well said.
Where I do come from the “right”,I find this “partisan team” playing completely counter-productive to any open fair-minded debate.
Thank you for reassuring me I am not alone in this opinion.

  17. Read Baldwin’s comments and you can see that without a script he can’t think on his feet.
He didn’t make one comment in the whole exchange that wasn’t juvenile. Go to the whole exchange and see for yourself.

  18. Hey wait a minute folks; I once saw a documentary… I think it was called “Team Armania” or something… and on it they said that Alec was the greatest actor ever…. EVER!
You people should show more respect 🙂

  19. You people criticizing Hannity are missing the point. While Hannity and Levin may have been vicious, it is because it was HANNITY who was bullied – he had an agreement to get Baldwin on the show, and not only did Baldwin bail out, he turned around and attacked the messenger. Then, it was Baldwin who opened the door to personal attacks with his construction worker blast. Fact is, it is conservatives who get bullied in the media time-after-time, and it’s a refreshing change when conservatives stand up for themselves and fight back. Besides, in the end, Baldwin decided that when the going got tough, that he would…RUN AWAY! What a weakling, a true intellectual coward.

  20. Personally, I wouldn’t give Alec one shred of respect… ever. At first I was inclined to disagree with the hard and unproffessional time the boys gave him… but after reconsidering, I would likely have done the same.

  21. Alec Baldwin Blasts Hannity, Levin, Then Walks Out

Whatever you do today, you must listen to the Sean Hannity Show (and if you’re in New York or another market that carries him, the Mark Levin show will be similarly must-listen).
On last night’s Brian Whitman show New York’s WABC radio (770 AM), a…

  22. Looks to me like Baldwin was set up, and it appears like both sides were getting their jollies from 2 cent name calling. As for Baldwin, I probably do think that he is over rated, over paid, and under- smart. Anytime I see him interviewed, he stikes me as being arrogant and a bit shallow in regards to personality. Ever notice his eyes… he has pig eyes. I find people who have eyes of this type are people you do as little business with as possible, and never fully trust. I am thinking that if he acting career hadn’t taken off, ghe probably would be ripping people off in some blue collar job, spending his spare time at the golf club trying to hit on his friends wives. He gives me pains where I don’t have windows.

  23. He didn’t make one comment in the whole exchange that wasn’t juvenile.
    And Hannity or Levin did?
“are you 40 or 50 pounds overweight now?”
“He’s going to show that you have a two digit IQ – that’s what he’s gonna do.”
    “butt-boy”
    “You’re “Brokeback” Alec”
    “You’re a third-rate Hollywood egomaniac”
“Why was your [former] wife [Kim Basinger] so pissed off at you, anyway?”
They all sounded like juvenile idiots. Baldwin only bailed when Hannity and Levin started insulting him with his ex-wife, because that’s an important aspect to the discussion I’m sure. I’m with JRB and Canadian Observer here. We are letting these idiots speak for us? Hannity has to be considered as media mainstream as Baldwin at this point in his career and this is what the mainstream media ends up doing to political discourse.
They were all morons. Frankly, I’m surprised no one has criticized Whitman here. He’s the host and he let it get out of control. What a horrible host. There was not even any substance or content to the silly name calling.

  24. Dr. D re: homophobic tones – both sides were doing it, so what is your point (other than there were homophobic remarks)?

  25. I don’t like this kinda stuff at all. This name calling and animosity stiffles debate and just works to polarize people.
It would have been far more productive to civily discuss Baldwin’s wacko positions. He would have been pinned down and exposed very quickly. Instead it just proves Baldwin’s rhetoric that conservatives are mean spirited people

  26. Warren Beatty and Mr. Arric Baaaarwin both seem to be eternally recovering from head injuries. Strange that the Democrats are abuzz at the possibility of both entering politics. It makes you wonder when Gary Busey’s going to enter the fray.

  27. The really sad part of this whole exchange is that either of these clowns, left or right wing,
will make more money in one year than the average construction worker makes in twenty years.
A plague on both their houses. We don’t need spokesmen like Hannity for conservatism, and I don’t know why anyone would listen to Baldwin or any of the crew from fantasyland.
Makes me really miss Ted Byfield from “The Report”.

  28. I was sent from planet Gyron to conquer the Earth
    I had a terrific plan
    I thought it would work
Tried to get the earthlings all to kill each other
    You see
But it all went wrong and now I must decree
    You are worthless, Alec Baldwin
    You are worthless, Alec Baldwin
You failed in every way and now my stock in you has fallen.
Your career is stalling and youre worthless, Alec Baldwin
Thats why I blew your head off
And your children are all Baldwin
Planet Gyron is inhabited with Zypods like me
But also with Balmacks who are giant bees
The Zypods and the Balmacks are at constant war
So we wanted a new home and thats what Earth was for
But you are worthless, Alec Baldwin
    You are worthless, Alec Baldwin
You f***ed up my whole plan
And now Gyron is smeared with Balmack Pollen
    Your garbage needs some hauling
    And youre worthless, Alec Baldwin
Now I must return home a failure
Im afraid the pit of Cry rock is calling

  29. Alec Baldwin epitomizes the arrogant ego-bound fat-arsed hollywood type (Barbra Streisland is another)whose career is really over and is using vacuous political bumpf to try to get back in the limelight. Don’t care if it is right-wing or left-wing. HE’S AN ACTOR OK? He is only acting smart…and not well either.

  30. Chill, Canadian Observer.
I was merely making a recommendation. It’s about consumer power. Let the people talk with their cash.
And ShowBiz folks become leftists to get ahead and make money. The more unhinged and nutty, the more money they make, as Hollywood is pretty much controlled by leftists. Try to disprove that.
They’re just like politicians. Sell out for votes, power, money, interns in blue dresses…
I myself love making money (when it happens), but I will not sell out my intellectual sovereignty just to do so. Used to be I would in a heartbeat, but not anymore.

  31. “Anyone notice all the homophobia in the exchanges? No, thought not.”
Oh! oh! I saw it, honest I did! Am I special now? Do I win a prize?
Does it matter that I just don’t care?

  32. Canadian Sentinel:
How many movies starring Bruce Willis co-starring Kelsey Grammar can we really watch?
And is there even a right-wing actress in Hollywood these days? We could dress Tony Danza in drag I suppose, but its not the same thing.

  33. I’d watch every Bruce Willis movie from now on. Just as I’ve seen pretty much every movie Arnold Schwarzenegger ever made.
The conservative actors in Hollywood are mostly in the closet. Why? Because of the intolerance and probably blacklisting they would face from the pretentiously vain leftist hams without brains. Who’s a “McCarthyist”, now?
You leftists are hellbent on making life a living hell for those of us who just want to live our lives our way and not be pushed around by nutty leftist politicians, MSMers, judges, etc., etc. We don’t really care what you do in the privacy of your own homes… but when you shove it in our faces while simultaneously trying to take away our liberties as guaranteed under the constitutions of the US and Canada, we’re not going to take it. Not anymore!
Bruce Willis had the courage to come out of the conservative closet. I salute him and hope he makes the movie about Michael Yon.
We are right! Hear us roar!

  34. sarge thought this article about one of our American war heros was a gooder. it’s a sad world when a dink like baldwin and a specials forces lifer can agree on somthin’
‘Unit’s’ military expert has fighting words for Bush
    By David Kronke, TV Critic
Eric Haney, a retired command sergeant major of the U.S. Army, was a founding member of Delta Force, the military’s elite covert counter-terrorist unit. He culled his experiences for “Inside Delta Force” (Delta; $14), a memoir rich with harrowing stories, though in an interview, Haney declines with a shrug to estimate the number of times he was almost killed. (Perhaps the most high-profile incident that almost claimed his life was the 1980 failed rescue of the hostages in Iran.) Today, he’s doing nothing nearly as dangerous: He serves as an executive producer and technical adviser for “The Unit,” CBS’ new hit drama based on his book, developed by playwright David Mamet. Even up against “American Idol,” “The Unit” shows muscle, drawing 18 million viewers in its first two airings.
Since he has devoted his life to protecting his country in some of the world’s most dangerous hot spots, you might assume Haney is sympathetic to the Bush administration’s current plight in Iraq (the laudatory cover blurb on his book comes from none other than Fox’s News’ Bill O’Reilly). But he’s also someone with close ties to the Pentagon, so he’s privy to information denied the rest of us.
We recently spoke to Haney, an amiable, soft-spoken Southern gentleman, on the set of “The Unit.”
Q: What’s your assessment of the war in Iraq?
A: Utter debacle. But it had to be from the very first. The reasons were wrong. The reasons of this administration for taking this nation to war were not what they stated. (Army Gen.) Tommy Franks was brow-beaten and … pursued warfare that he knew strategically was wrong in the long term. That’s why he retired immediately afterward. His own staff could tell him what was going to happen afterward.
We have fomented civil war in Iraq. We have probably fomented internecine war in the Muslim world between the Shias and the Sunnis, and I think Bush may well have started the third world war, all for their own personal policies.
Q: What is the cost to our country?
A: For the first thing, our credibility is utterly zero. So we destroyed whatever credibility we had. … And I say “we,” because the American public went along with this. They voted for a second Bush administration out of fear, so fear is what they’re going to have from now on.
Our military is completely consumed, so were there a real threat – thankfully, there is no real threat to the U.S. in the world, but were there one, we couldn’t confront it. Right now, that may not be a bad thing, because that keeps Bush from trying something with Iran or with Venezuela.
The harm that has been done is irreparable. There are more than 2,000 American kids that have been killed. Tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis have been killed which no one in the U.S. really cares about those people, do they? I never hear anybody lament that fact. It has been a horror, and this administration has worked overtime to divert the American public’s attention from it. Their lies are coming home to roost now, and it’s gonna fall apart. But somebody’s gonna have to clear up the aftermath and the harm that it’s done just to what America stands for. It may be two or three generations in repairing.
Q: What do you make of the torture debate? Cheney …
A: (Interrupting) That’s Cheney’s pursuit. The only reason anyone tortures is because they like to do it. It’s about vengeance, it’s about revenge, or it’s about cover-up. You don’t gain intelligence that way. Everyone in the world knows that. It’s worse than small-minded, and look what it does.
I’ve argued this on Bill O’Reilly and other Fox News shows. I ask, who would you want to pay to be a torturer? Do you want someone that the American public pays to torture? He’s an employee of yours. It’s worse than ridiculous. It’s criminal; it’s utterly criminal. This administration has been masters of diverting attention away from real issues and debating the silly. Debating what constitutes torture: Mistreatment of helpless people in your power is torture, period. And (I’m saying this as) a man who has been involved in the most pointed of our activities. I know it, and all of my mates know it. You don’t do it. It’s an act of cowardice. I hear apologists for torture say, “Well, they do it to us.” Which is a ludicrous argument. … The Saddam Husseins of the world are not our teachers. Christ almighty, we wrote a Constitution saying what’s legal and what we believed in. Now we’re going to throw it away.
Q: As someone who repeatedly put your life on the line, did some of the most hair-raising things to protect your country, and to see your country behave this way, that must be …
A: It’s pretty galling. But ultimately I believe in the good and the decency of the American people, and they’re starting to see what’s happening and the lies that have been told. We’re seeing this current house of cards start to flutter away. The American people come around. They always do.

  35. Can Sentinel, what,no sense of ha ha?
I was merely extrapolating the fervor with which you were attacking the left.If you think an extreme con is any better than an extreme lib, well, you missed my message .I don’t expect you to agree, you seem to be stuck in us/them mode.
Personally,I don’t decide which movies to see based on the actor’s political bent.BTW,do you investigate the producers, directors, etc. to make sure no “lefties” have tainted it?
Anyways,NOBODY gets more pissed than me when I hear some of the vile, hateful stuff the left all too often resorts to.After all, they often do not seem to have much else to work with. But,I get even MORE pissed when I see a con, with much more in his arsenal, incapable of rising above it and resorting to slandering ALL libs as crazy and evil.
We are smarter than that, are we not?

  36. When you refer to the “con” as having “much more in his arsenal” I would assume you’re referring to intelligence, not to control of the MSM, Hollywood or the courts.
I wasn’t sure you were being facetious. Hard to tell from plain text. I did, however, think you might have been.
I would still make no apologies for ripping into the left, which includes so-called “centrists”, who almost invariably lean towards the serious moonbats. That’s what happened to the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party of Canada. They’re not “moderate” anymore.
I firmly believe that if conservatives refrain from political combat/rhetoric to counter the left, then the left will always win as they’re the loudest and drown out the rational messages coming from conservatives.
If you think I’m over the top, so be it. If you think I’ve “stooped to their level”, fine. I don’t care. I can alternate intelligent discourse with hard-hitting moonbat ass-kicking. That’s my method and I know it works. Hold a mirror up to the left, show them what they themselves do to us, be preemptive and they’ll be so taken aback they’ll just get unhinged. You know this, don’t you?

  37. So, sarge, Eric Haney went from the military to Alec Baldwin’s Hollywood. And….what makes him so special? He comes off as a shallow nitwit like Baldwin.
He doesn’t like Bush. Got that. You don’t like Bush. Got that.
Linking to the whole intervue rather than the parts you like has more integrity on the internet.

  38. We’ll obviously agree to disagree on that one.I guess I just don’t see the logic of setting a bad example to those you wish to show a better way….
    Have a good night.

Battle heats up between media and Prime Minister’s Office
    By BRUCE CHEADLE
OTTAWA (CP) – Security on Parliament Hill barred reporters from attending a pair of Stephen Harper photo opportunities Monday as the Prime Ministers Office flexed its media messaging muscles.
The made-for-TV confrontation between security and reporters outside Harper’s office door graphically illustrated the deteriorating relations between a PMO seeking total message control and news media defending their hard-won access. +

  40. If you listen to the whole audio, it’s clear that Baldwin started the smarmy comments, and continued them. The fault of the others is that they allowed Awic Bowdwin to get to them, and they returned the insults in kind.
The funny thing though, is that for a man who has made some of the most outragious comments imaginable, in public, Baldwin is completely gutless when it comes to defending himself. Had his opponents in this case kept their cool, and just pressed ahead with direct questions, they would’ve made a much greater fool of Awic.

  41. For many Americans, the point is that Alec Baldwin has had this coming.
Conservatives have had to be dragged into this vituperative kind of debate.
Hollywood characters like Baldwin usually have sympathetic platforms with no opposition for their outrageous diatribes and unreasonable pronouncements. One time on, I think, David Letterman, Baldwin stood up in his chair and called for Henry Hyde to be dragged from his house and murdered by stoning. And he then went on to scream for all of Henry Hyde’s children and relatives to be dragged from their homes and be stoned to death in acts of premeditated murder.
He then went on for a period of time to lead a chant for these acts as he stood on the chair. No one challenged him for this.
Certainly these Hollywood characters are roundly denounced by conservatives in print and on the radio, but they rarely have an opportunity to confront these people while these Hollywood prima donnas command the stage and the audience, and command the millions of television viewers.
So finally, we had some radio show hosts who found a way to confront one of them virtually face to face and in person. It is so rare that these characters are confronted while they are in the act of their outrageous denunciations.
If they would be more sensible and measured and reasonable in their public statements, conservatives would not be trying to find some venue to confront a challenger eyeball to eyeball.

  42. ABSOLUTELY GREG!! This is a very good posting. Who hasn’t imagined what they would say (or do?) to a tit like Baldwin if they ever met him face to face? These Hollywood asshole have a pulpit to shriek their absurd vitriol and they never get held accountable. Baldwin got held accountable for once by some people he had gotten very angry over a long length of time. For those (liberal or conservative)whose delicate sensiblities were bruised by reading or hearing this exchange, oh get lost.

  43. I agree with Canadian Sentinel as far as boycotting movies. These folks use their “celebrity” status to voice their opinions. Fine and dandy, but I won’t be paying for your limos. For example, I used to like George Clooney and would see a movie just because he was in it. After his arrogant speech at the Oscars, etc, I will not see a movie specifically if he is IN it. Dixie Chicks felt it a few years back. I also believe that this is why reality TV has been such a hit. People were tired of entertainers making huge bucks while real “heroes” are scraping by and then preaching to us. I can’t explain hockey though. Just as I WAS interested in watching the unit but now that Sarge has endorsed it and I read the interview, it is one more CBC show I won’t be tuning in to.
