    1. Our MN Governor Walz declared a state wide emergency and called out the MN National Guard even before the storm hit. We are going to get a good old fashioned blizzard like we used to get in the 1970’s. 10-14″ of snow from now through Thursday Night, and lots of wind.

I wish he had been as proactive after George Floyd died on Monday June 25, 2020. He let Minneapolis and Saint Paul burn for four nights before he called out the MN NG on Saturday Morning.

  1. It’s supposed to snow up to ONE FOOT on 3,500 ft. Mt Diablo here in the SF Bay Area tonight!!

    In related news …. https://www.drought.gov/states/california

99% of CA is still OFFICIALLY … according to some bullshitty .gov website … in “DROUGHT”. Pay particular attention to the central Sierra Nevada near Lake Tahoe that is OFFICIALLY labeled “abnormally dry”. Meanwhile … the latest snow survey from that area shows it is at 193% of “normal” … and statewide, the snowpack is at 205% of “normal”. Yes … 205% of normal snowpack = “abnormally dry” conditions. If you haven’t figured out that YOU ARE BEING LIED TO by your government and all its appendages yet … then there’s no hope for you … or for our society

    https://water.ca.gov/News/News-Releases/2023/Feb-23/Second-Snow-Survey-Reflects-Boost-from-Atmospheric-Rivers

BTW … “boost from atmospheric rivers” … means it rained and snowed. Like it always does. Sometimes heavier than other times. Same as it ever was … same as it … ever … was. More like a river of LIES from all the global Warmists

  2. Blowing moon dust into space to block the suns rays from reaching earth is NOT going to help……

  3. Then there will be mudslides and stuff and they can go back to blaming global warming. One thing sure though: They will let all this water run off to sea with half a grillion ton of topsoil and complain about a drought nex summer.

  4. Compare and contrast …

Snow Survey: Central Sierra at 193% of “normal” snowpack, All the Sierra at 205% of “normal” snowpack
    https://resources.ca.gov/Home/News/News-Releases/2023/Feb-23/Second-Snow-Survey-Reflects-Boost-from-Atmospheric-Rivers

Some bullshitty .gov perpetual “DROUGHT” website “certifies” that 99% of the State is STILL in some form of a “drought”
    https://www.drought.gov/states/california

Note: that the Sierra is in either a “moderate drought” or “abnormally dry” … with 205% of “normal” snowpack. So … how much snow and rain will it take to remove CA from a “drought emergency”? Answer: it could be 1,000% of “normal” … and your global warmist government overlords would INSIST CA is still in the grips of a neverending drought …

  5. This “LA blizzard” is only valid for the higher portions of the region like Mount Wilson, maybe down to about 3,000′ asl, there may be smaller amounts of snow closer to sea level, but to give some idea of contrasts, at the moment temperatures are -6 C in the mountains, 13 C at Palm Springs and 10 C at LAX, 12-14 C along the south coast. It will get colder, but I think a large part of metro LA will see amounts like 2-5 cm partially melting on contact with temperatures around 3-5 C, the 40-100 cm amounts will be above where most people live. Even so, this is quite unusual, the normal daytime temperature is around 18 C. Northern Arizona and Las Vegas will also see some snow and very cold temperatures when this hits, not quite down that low yet.

This may be similar to the historic Jan 1932 snowfall event in Los Angeles which holds the current record. I don’t know if there has “never” been a blizzard warning for those mountains, I saw a different account on a weather forum saying it was the first one in two decades, but in any case, it often snows in those mountains (some peaks are over 2,500 meters), maybe not this much. I think there have been only a half dozen or so measurable snowfalls at LAX or similar locations. In 1932 they had 2 or 3 inches so it’s not a very high bar.

    1. Well … my daughter, who commutes from Dana Point to her office near John Wayne Airport, said that the wind has been absolutely HOWLING … with freezing rain/snow coming … at sea level

    2. Black’s mountain usually has more snow in Jan and Feb, than we do all winter long , here in southern Ontario CANADA.

    1. Pretty close.

Actually … this lifelong NORTHERN Californian much prefers the people of Southern California more than the high tech, hipster, pricks who live here in the Bay Area. Everyone here in the Bay Area think they’re somebody important. They’re not. They’re quite unlikeable

      1. I live in Florida now. Best move I ever made. Tomorrow will be 85F. Yes the summers are hot, and we have the occasional hurricane, but look at what we don’t have. State income tax for example. While I miss the Amish, and other benefits of living in rural PA, I’m not going back. What taxes I pay are now going to the well-run and fiscally responsible state of Florida.

        1. Robert F – Is The ESG Colossus Stumbling? Yesterday, leaders of the Florida’s House and Senate hailed legislation that would “protect Florida retirement accounts and state investments from financial discrimination by eliminating the consideration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investment strategies” and “protect Floridians from being denied loans based on their political or social beliefs.”
          Florida is leading the way.

  6. My brother in Long Beach has had some pretty high winds. The neighbour’s termite tent dislodged and wrapped around his house. I hope the critters didn’t come with the tarps. That would really bite…suck!!!

  7. Events like this are why they no longer talk about global warming. It’s all “climate change”, and “climate change” produces extreme weather events, like this one.

So how does their reasoning go? Human CO2 emissions (from capitalist developed nations only) cause dangerous global warming that results in climate change (even if the globe stopped warming) like blizzards in LA.

Yeah, that sounds logical. (rolls eyes)

  8. When global warming became climate change and didn’t lose a step.. Clearly it wasn’t about the weather.. It was about progress.. Towards what I have no idea.. As if monopolies for your friends is anything new..

The only thing we get to measure is our economic decline and the temperament of the voters who put up with the BS.. You cant model that :)..

  9. File up the banjo and play them Oh Susanna, off key and in the most annoying voice you can manage..
“Sun so hot,I froze to death..Susanna don’t you cry”.
Proving that Chicken Little and the Climate Wienies have been haunting North America since at least the 1800s.
    Net Zero?
Oh yeah I advocate for Net Zero Gang Green,by 2025.
And the rest of our parasitic overload along with them.
We needs us some of that Climate Change, were the political climate of tolerating these fools and bandits, turns to intolerance and revenge..Now there is some Climate Change I can get with.
