I’ve noticed even in rural Sask ,the local hotels,bars,etc get bought up by foreigners and they seem to have no interest in making money.It’s either laundering or simply buying businesses to get into the country.It’s very frustrating watching a decades old viable business get run into the ground.

  7. Back in October there was an oil spill off the coast of California. The oil company blamed a cargo ship that (allegedly) dragged its anchor across a pipeline that transported offshore raw crude oil onto the coast for processing.

    “Amplify Energy Corp. and its companies that operate several oil rigs and a pipeline off Long Beach were charged by a federal grand jury with a single misdemeanor count of illegally discharging oil.”

    Houston-based Amplify Energy claims a cargo ship ripped open the pipeline and that it thought the oil-leak alarms that went off were false because they couldn’t find any leak at the well site. The leak it turned out, was over 6.4 km away in a pipeline.

    If an oil company’s alarm system can’t detect whether an oil leak is within a pipeline 6 km long or at the well site shouldn’t it shut down?

    “Had the crew known there was an actual oil spill in the water, they would have shut down the pipeline immediately,” the company said.

    Well no-shit Sherlock. But why would you pump oil through a pipeline if you can’t detect whether it is leaking or not?

  17. Let’s see if I got this right, we have 338 M.P.’s who have been sitting at home for almost two years. In addition the majority of civil servants have allegedly been working at home {cue the laughter}. In reality there is absolutely no need for 338 M.P.’s, there should only be 10 per province and territory. the civil service could be cut by 50% through a five year hiring freeze, attrition would get rid of the layabouts. Is there a politician in Canada with enough backbone to deal with this Lastly I don’t think liberal voters realize that they are getting in the next too from Justin’s super inflation, but then again liberal voters are not the sharpest.

          I confess:
          I got my provider to take away as many channels as they wanted that I wasn’t watching in exchange for Netflix. They agreed! A switcheroo of 3 channels later and I got Netflix at no extra monthly charge except the first and last month, as it’s a subscription. I paid the one time subscription fee.
          I quite like it. Calgary’s lonely!
