Haven’t seen much of unme lately. You have to admit it gets lively when he/she/thet comments.
I’m sad to report that his transitioning surgery went horribly wrong. He is now an emu and grazing on grassland in Azerbaijan. Sad.

I was telling my wife just last night how much I learn from the SDA comments and Reader Tips.
SDA is the ONLY website on which I read comments.
True of me also.. Still wish we had a like button..Lol!.. And on the Lytton fire.. It appears to be human caused ,as I wondered at the time if it was a church fire that caused it.. They aren’t saying that ..Yet!
Reports are that it was a train which had an undercarriage fire. Apparently one was seen stopped near Boston Bar, just south of Lytton, and CN officials were in attendance. CP Rail also runs along the same river valley, but – I think – may be on the opposite side of the river. I know that – along the Fraser – there is one line on each side of the river.

Yes…congratulations Kate. Always my first stop in the morning then it’s on to Twitterville where others bring me up to speed on what’s going on. They read the news so I don’t have to. I guess that says more about me than I care to admit.
I was sure you’d get a regular writing gig at the NP after producing one or two columns for them.
I don’t know how that works in the print media but if they didn’t offer it it’s their loss.
The “We need a famine” article was so good. I re-read every so often.
I put Kate in the top eschelon of commentary for Canadians — particularly for us in the land of the gopher and bison. She’s an OSI (Old Stock Internetter) in the same class with Kathy (God rest her soul!), Arne, Mark, and Ezra. I don’t personally know any of these people but they have kept me from going crazy since the turn of the millenium.
These folk have risked their fortunes for truth and freedom and we — voyeurs from the weeds — are the beneficiaries of their bravery!
If I were the giver of the Order of Canada Kate would be at the top of the list of receivers!

I don’t recall how or when I discovered Small Dead Animals (early 2000s, Kathy or Arnie?), but I am so glad I did. I have learned much from the great posts and comments here over the years. Not too long ago, my husband asked me what I was reading, so I showed him. Now he is a daily visitor and occasionally comments. Thank you, Kate.
Thank God for SDA in the beginning. It kept me sane during adscam, 9-11. Haven’t tuned in much the past couple of years, but am craving some uncensored comment since quitting facebook, twitter and the rest of the lefty media. Thanks for keeping up, keeping on Kate. Election season coming soon, I look forward doing battle with the Trudeau censors.

I first encountered the Kate phenomenon when I came across her pics of abandoned cars in Sask, and I can’t really remember what year that was. I remember telling her I enjoyed taking old car pics in Sask, because in Ontario they’re rusting and rotting into the ground. But, on the prairie, it’s patina for days….
Embarrassingly, I recall a few times when the unruliness came close to exasperating her.
But she still puts up with us, and I’m happy about that!
