          When they rolled out the H1N1 shots here in the death of winter a few yrs ago people lined up outside and waited on behalf of other people like close family members who couldn’t stand in line for other health issues. When the person waiting was close to getting in the door, out from their cars came whole families to join in at the same spot. They were met with large numbers of shouts by others in the back who were suddenly displaced.

          Some people were told to go home as the vaccine availability was ended after waiting in line in the cold all that time. Beats me why the workers at the clinic couldn’t cut the line-up at the place where they knew they would run out of the stuff.

          When I heard that I decided not to participate in that type of care — where they don’t really care.

Most politicians around the world are too frightened to deviate from bureaucratic strategies for handling the virus. The issue is complex, and the easiest thing is to go with the status quo. We need champions in health care who will speak out against dangerous vaccines and lockdowns. Some have done so, but quickly they are ostracized.

          ACCESS limped along for a while afterwards but I think the channel it occupied was eventually taken over by CTV. I haven’t watched that part of the spectrum for so long I don’t even remember what’s there any more.

          It’s a pity, really as ACCESS made a promising start, like the PBS of some 40 years ago. Part of the reason it went off the air was, I recall, the same directors who controlled it also controlled the radio station CKUA. Some of the directors lined their pockets and the entire bunch were canned. CKUA’s frequency was silent for several days while the place re-organized. The provincial government stopped contributing funds altogether and, so, it became like PBS with periodic begathons.

          I used to listen to CKUA, and even donated to it, because it had some nice classical music shows but, when it started running ads for Red Rachel’s provincial government, I stopped.

          Good riddance, I say.

    2. If you decide to send a complaint via email to the education minister, I recommend that you send a copy to your Progressive Conservative MLA, if you have one. I did and have already heard back from my MLA’s office. Time to see if the Ontario PC’s can be pushed into a “reset” ( in this case back to true conservative values).
