We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

Another Tes-La-Que.

Tes-la-Que

But there’s more: According to the Pleasanton Police Department’s Facebook page on Sunday, after being cleared from the scene, the 2018 Tesla Model S battery reignited, prompting additional fire crews to be sent to contain the fire.

  1. So what is all involved with the environmental clean-up, after a tesla and it’s batteries go up in smoke like that? What is the local contamination from such an event?

  2. Flamethrowers by The Boring Co., rockets by Space-X, EV’s and solar roofs by Tesla…. Musk seems addicted to creating companies that build things involving lots and lots of flames.

  3. Mr. Musk is the reincarnation of P.T. Barnum, but with more money and less ethics.

There’s one born every minute. And he and his money are soon parted!

  4. A friend’s home has a 2-car garage under 3 bedrooms supported by an unprotected steel I-beam. They have conventional vehicles. I have been whining about the potential for a large fire. Seems like a Tesla would require a wired in alarm/detector and “4 hour” (in theory) walls and ceiling (~2X 5/8″ Fire board or equivalent, firetaped with offset seams).

Any “extingfuished” automobile battery fire should be dragged away from any structure, residential or otherwise.

In truth, I wouldn’t have a Tesla, in particular, under any residential structure. There is too much energy stored in a hinky package. Burning to death is a nasty way to go…..

    1. Did you learn NOTHING from Rosie O’Donnell’s WTC forensic analysis? As PROOF that Bush used explosives to bring down the WTC … Rosie explained that steel doesn’t burn! Or melt!

  5. How come the tires and alloy rims involved in these flaming infernos seem to survive intact … Beats me?

  6. At first glance I thought it was a droned iranian general and nope it’s just a run of the mill Telsa.

  7. I am beginning to warm to the Tesla Solution.
A self curing problem, similar to snowmobilers who insist on testing the lake ice.
Tesla’s are great, first they part the fool from a large chunk of money, then they burn.
Only thing that is missing,is the “driver correction system” which will administer ever increasing electric shocks to the seated driver..to “improve their driving experience”.
Final “attention getter” full battery voltage and amperage through some nice electrodes glued to the driver..
Mobile Electric Chair..shades of an old Iggy Pop song.

  8. Before retirement, I was a member of a oil refinery emergency response team. Our adjoining municipality called to request assistance with a car fire. It was a Prius, a hybrid. We had to use a type of foam called AFFF designed for industrial fire fighting. And, it re-kindled later that night. Our HazMat also responded to clean up the mess. Even on the hybrid, the battery case separated and dumped acid/water on the pavement. We wondered if the insurance company charged extra for electrics to cover the possibility of an expensive incident. I do know the bill my company sent to the insurance company for personnel, equipment, and foam was almost $10,000. There is nothing in this world for free.

  9. Elon’s method of disposing of material witnesses of “unintended acceleration”: “I’m sorry Dave but you know too much (doors lock). The prime directive must be protected. I am programmed to make your transition to post awareness as expedient as possible. Please forgive the brief moments of temporary discomfort”.
