Now that Bernie Sanders and AOC have opened the door to the possibility of Socialism, now come the nutters proposing Communism:

Quite who Bastani thinks he’s fooling is unclear to me. Historically, Communism has been unable to produce satisfactory supplies of bread, let alone wish the world of Star Trek into reality. If the products and approaches he covets are to come to fruition, it will be by the hand of the market, not as a result of his five — nay, five hundred — year-plan. Worse still, he seems to regard the fact that people have noticed this by now as some sort of chronic failure on their part.

    1. My favorite answer for “it will work this time” is “Oh, so you’re a bigot then? You think you’re better than everyone who has tried it in the past?”.

  6. It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid some people can be. I can only assume that they’ve had everything provided for them in life and have never produced anything by their own labour. I think “loser” is an apt descriptor.

      their thinking is locked onto a single point, that communism is the answer, without objectively looking at the realities of communism.
      they are incapable of it.
      no point in convincing them otherwise, the very strategy one is trying is THE one that does not and never has and never will work. they do NOT put their belief cystem (note the spelling) into the klieg lites of debate and criticism, because like, many if not almost ALL people, challenging said beliefs becomes a contest of wills, an ego driven test, at which point it is their bruised ego takes over the debate.

  9. The only thing “new” about communism (socialism without the voting) is the continuous fresh crop of newly graduated believers from that part of the institutional left masquerading as academia. A deeply flawed and immoral theory, no mater how many times promoted, parroted, pimped out in Green, and implemented, is just that.

    1. Well, the Russians fell for it, the Chinese, the Cambodians, Vietnamese, Koreans (ie. most of Asia), most of Africa, most of central and south America, most of Europe (with the EU).

      To varying degrees, the majority of the earth has/is falling for it.

      So note believing humans can make rational decisions, is the default rational position.

  16. I don’t know where or how to start discussing this. The contemplation of imposing communism on us brings up what I thought were unimaginative horrors carried out in so many countries in the past.

    A few thoughts came to mind.

    When I was young, I listened to my grandfather and my uncles discuss, at family gatherings, their escape from the Soviet Union in 1926 and the fate of his two brothers and his five brothers-in-law. Only one of the brothers-in-law returned from the labour camps; the rest all died in the camps. One of brothers had a son-in-law, a teacher, shot for his past indiscretion of not joining the Komsomol while in university.

    When I married, I discovered that my wife’s family had suffered much the same in the Soviet Union, and only her grandfather and one of his brothers had escaped in 1923. The rest were to experience the socialist utopia.

    After reading this article I also thought of the youthful executioners in Cambodia whispering into the ears of their bound and kneeling victims just before slitting their throats, that, “This is for the good of the people”. Are we going to hear this also?

    Because of my age, will I just be taken to the local jail and shot behind the building for agitating reactionary views? Will my son and sons-in-law be sent to labour camps, or, will one son-in-law, a conservative minded teacher, and my son, an about to be teacher, be shot for not teaching communism? None of this is beyond the realm of possibilities. David Suzuki and other AGW/Climate Change/Climate Emergency purveyors have suggested in the past I should be jailed because I’m a denier.

    Canada’s federal government and politicians in the US are working diligently to silence conservatives. According to them all conservatives are alt-right. Is it a stretch for them to start jailing us if we open our mouths? Oh, to be sure, all conservative speech is racist or bigoted and must be de-platformed.

    This agonized rant could go on, but it must be becoming tiresome, so I’ll stop.

    Who thought after the decades of fighting Soviet communism that it would be quietly gestating in our backyards.

    1. If the commies get in in the US, I am moving my family to Eastern Europe. They will prosper with flat taxes, no Islam, and private healthcare, while the West goes full Venezuela. You may not want to wait around. Beat the rush, before (a) they close their borders to Anglos (rightfully so) and (b) Western countries start putting up walls to keep their citizens from leaving.

      Who says God doesn’t have a sense of humour?

    1. Not a lobotomy; they are going the Aldous Huxley route. Somme, ie. drugging society on a massive scale. Why do you think all children have ADHD, or autism, or something else that requires them all to be drugged all the time.

      It is always ironic when you think about movies like ‘THX1138’, and how today, the people who made those movies back in the 70s are fighting so hard for the dystopian future they made a movie about.

The USA was late to the European front of WW11 because Germany & Russia were buddies, Hitler declared War on Russia and the Unions (Communists) went all in supporting Russia…. After the War was the Purge of Communists in the Civil Service & Hollywood… Not done enough!

    Hollywood needs MORE homeless folks in their backyards…They live evil fake lives and it’s time they spent more time in the Shit-hole State they created…Communism only works when everyone is EQUALLY Homeless.
